Great stuff here! Really enjoy the drone shots. Visited all those places in the 1970's and 1980's. It actually looked pretty green. That tall mountain in Avalon with the fire trail we hiked up on acid and left our names in the glass jar at the top. Wonderful views!
Wow, another awesome adventure on Sailing Avocet! It's commendable how you guys handle not just the beautiful moments, but also the challenges that come with boat life. The Wifi woes may have been frustrating, but you powered through with positivity. And hey, Catalina Island looks absolutely stunning! Thanks for sharing your journey and reminding us of the incredible memories that can be made there. Keep up the amazing work, you're an inspiration to all sailors out there! ⛵️✨
Catalinaaaaaa!! This was good research for me, hopefully, we'll be doing some winter cruising there soon. What a saga that Starlink was, glad we could help :)
When it rains it pours sorry for so many issues before leaving, but Devine intervention for some reason and probably best to get those issues resolved before sailing off. Fair winds!
Oh hey, thanks for watching! Since you are here, check out this SECRET UPDATE VIDEO we posted a couple days ago: ua-cam.com/video/Hp7EEviJF5c/v-deo.html
My grandfather owned on the famous bars in Avalon called the Flying Yachtsman. The term Avalon is the alleged "heaven" name by the Knights of the Round Table during the crusades. Spent many days in the Catalina sunshine. Cheers
Loved this video. Hopefully Starlink will be good for a long time to come. I had the same issue with mine, and it turned out to be a bad cable. I’m loving the new flat high-performance dish. Have you seen the mini flat dish they just announced? Either way you’re probably fine. Wouldn’t hurt to throw in spare cable. Keep the videos coming!
Thanks buddy :) Yah, we replaced the cable in Morro Bay... that wasn't it either ha! We have spares on spares now. Excited to see what Amazons competing product is like...
Another possibility would be your dirty sine wave from the inverter frying the SL terminal. It all depends on how well protected (designed) the SL terminal input is …
We would always stay at Two Harbors. We had our boat at Marina Cortez and every August we would sail up to Two Harbors. At 12 knots it would take about 12 hours. But going back to San Diego it would take about 9 to 10 hours. Ooo and if you drink a few Buffalo Milks 🥛 you may be Throwing darts backwards at the dart board. 😂😅😂! Thank you for this week's video 📹! Oooo befor I forget, If you stop at the Star 🌟 port fuel ⛽️ dock in San Diego bay ask for Colin Smith. He owns the fuel ⛽️ dock .Tell him I sent you and he may give you a break on the fuel ⛽️. There is a small snack and drinks from cokes to beer 🍺. And sume fishing stuff there and you can pump out there too. You may even see my name in the Concrete dock. Kpt.Bill or one eye Bill. Ok thank you again for this week's video 📹. And until next time ⏲️ ,Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii! Cheers 🍻
Marissa, i think we have the same dinghy as you guys! How do you like it? We haven't put ours in the water with the boat not being finished yet, but i wondered how stable it will be.
Nice guitar. More original music please!!! I left Modesto in 2003. I forgot how beautiful California women really are. "I wish they all could be California Girls!"
Most of Catalina got too civilized like the whole coast of California. The authorities want revenue. Glad I was able to anchor around before. Used to be paradise. It was wonderful.
Great video! Makes me miss Catalina ❤ so many good memories there! ⛵️✌️
It's a good spot :)
You guys are amazing! Love your Channel!
Thank you so much!

Do you think it is worthwhile to have a spare set Starlink parts?
Well, now we have them so I guess there is never any harm in spares!
I didn’t know about the “winter rates”
Happy to share the info
It's only a race if you are leading... 😁
true that ;)
Oh yea, China Peak opened. I sure hope you guys have can fish. You are in the middle of the best fishing off SoCal in 20yrs.
It sure did open! It was such a fun opening day.
So… who won the race?
😉

There are still some hidden gems in California, but I sure wish it was more anchor friendly. Check out the northern Channel Islands
