I’ve seen remi on joe rogans show and his youtube channel. he has a look in his eye of someone who, despite all modern convenience, remains wild. Untamable. Kind hearted but probably one of the most deadly and sturdy people left in America
For years I ground all of my deer shanks into burger. Then one day I saw an episode where Steve Brazed a couple of shanks. I gave it a try, and it was fabulous. I will never grind another shank. Steve, I would love to see you and Remi do more hunts together. Great video.
I know it must be uncomfortable, but the integrity and honesty to show Steve second guess and get the positioning wrong is why I love this show. No ego involved, just a genuine hunter sharing his experiences with us. Obviously he is world class and has nothing to prove to us, but they very easily could just not edit that part into the video. I love this show, scratches the itch I don't have a practical means of scratching myself.
I don't know the name of the show, but I recently watched a few guys go on an Elk "hunt" and it was easily the most dishonest and unsportsmenlike hunting I'd ever seen. It basically amounted to them going to an Elk ranch, be driven on a road within 200yds of a 100+ Elk herd, walk down a path between 2 rows of (ranch grown) pine trees, and then the guide handed the hunter his gun with a single bullet, and told him to shoot the first bull they saw. Of course they also drove a tractor out to haul the Elk back and their team does everything for you. Me and my buddies were in awe of the sheer disconnection to real hunting, and just how shallow it all was. There was no experience, no fair hunt, nothing. Whoever the hosts of that show are, their content is honestly just sickening to watch. If I went out for an Elk hunt and that was their proposed experience, I'd want my money back or for them to actually give me a HUNT, not like I'm killing a caged animal. Compare that horrid show to Steve's Meateater, and you just can't beat the raw sincerity of Steve. So many of his videos end with "We did our absolute best, but didn't get anything, and that's okay." THAT'S HUNTING! He shows his mistakes, and when he does get something he doesn't jock hi-five his buddies, he usually sits and takes in the moment.
Always good to see the crew out and about!! I watch both Remi and MeatEater quite often, but it is always good to see them together in the woods. Thanx and take care.
Awesome hunt video. Just a regular ol’ “stock the freezer” outing…which is the case for the majority of us out there. The Grandfather talk struck a nerve for me. Mine taught me to deer hunt and fish rivers for salmon and trout. He was a WWII veteran and I also followed his path, joined the military and became a combat veteran myself. I miss the man so much! Thanks for the great video. Production was second to none.
Can't tell you how times I've moved from the perfect spot to try to out smart an elk only to wish I hadn't moved. Of course there are just as many times I wish I had moved but didn't. Braised shank tacos have fueled me my buds on many a hunt. Also works well with wild turkeys legs that people swear are inedible.
Thank you for saying 1,000 yards is to far for ethical shooting. Too many people out there taking pot shots and game well beyond theyre effective range.
Remi is one of a kind. being a Michigan native I inherently love Steve, you two together though is top notch. My two dream hunting partners (outside of my dad)
You have an amazing mindset and outlook on life because of hunting I hope i get the chance to eventually get to do something like this and get this kind of experience
Pretty crazy. I’m a son of two hunting guides. my dad and my Uncle. used to guide in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. very interesting hunt. and thank you. :-) .
Just went through the freezer and got out 2 sections deboned shank - slow stew with salt pepper garlic in beer stock dash of wifesistersauce 😂 couple tablespoons of ketchup- cook till tender - service over bake potato with the works next day thicken the gravey served over rice and Mac salad on the side - tomorrow the last part will be shredded laid over toasted sourdough bread dip into gravy as needed!!!!
"if i was king of the world...." I just recently tried meateater shank recipe...and i whole heartedly agree... MIND BLOWING how good how good that tastes... people who waste shank meat can go right into the same group of people who just breast out a while turkey and don't slow cook that dark meat!!!!
I've seen a lot of videos, read quite a bit of hunting stories, and talked to many elk hunters. In short, I wonder how many backcountry hunters pack out an elk deboned or pack bone-in. Those that do debone have told me they'll never go back to packing bone-in.
I love watching all of Steve's hunting buddies, especially Janis Papis. I know unless Stevo is doing a guided hunt or bringing one of the RoganHeimers along, he will always have a similar ability and knowledgeable partner as himself. It's a joy to watch. The only guy I think is remotely Stevearinos and Companies ability is that fella who spear hunts moose. I seen him bounce a spear off a moose running past him then calmly pick the spear up as the moose does a u'ie and looking to run him over and takes the 2nd throw hitting the pump house dead center. Talk about sphincter shrinkter syndrome.
I would just like to say I'm watching on Netflix and the episode's you did on the river in north east south america is awesome I love and enjoy all that you do and put together but I really love these and hope you consider doing more with the first people and what they have to give to our rat race society we live in I hope you smell the flowers God bless from Canada eh! PS keep up the great work so jealous brother
Any video with Remi is quality and to have Steve with, is top notch!
I totally agree
I like Remi and Clay
Two of my favourite hunters. I can’t explain why maybe it’s just the way both of them talk and walk the walk of hunting.
It’s definitely magical
both guys are down to earth; no ego. neither is a jock-type hammerhead. they always play by the rules. just 2 cool dudes.
I had the chance to meet Steve, and he was great! Seemed genuinely interested in talking with me. He was also a very down to earth, humble dude.
I’ve seen remi on joe rogans show and his youtube channel. he has a look in his eye of someone who, despite all modern convenience, remains wild. Untamable. Kind hearted but probably one of the most deadly and sturdy people left in America
He’s on my apocalypse team for sure
He reminds me of the most elite soldiers I worked with in the Army. Same exact energy as the greenie beanies.
That's a touch of the tism
@@chickenfishhybrid44 LMFAO came here to say that

Perfect just in time for lunchtime and meat eater 😂😂
No doubt! Glad to see Remi back!
I eat them meats too

ALOT better than most hunting shows. Like that one rockstar dude

Remi is one of my favorites, love to see him and Steve back at it
Remi is such a class act
I enjoy watching Cal, Clay and Janis, but it's a special day when Steve is on the hunt!
I really like Clay.
Can’t name a better duo to watch Remi is a class act and super chill

Remi is always one of my favorites guests you have on, Mr Rinella
I love hunting in the bitterroots, in particular various spots off Hwy 12. I also love hunting in the Blackfoot.
Great video! My young daughter and I enjoyed watching it together
Remi is so freaking cool. Quiet and reserved modern mountain man.
I really should watch these before dinner.. always start to salivate watching the cook ups at the end of the vids 😂🤤
That Elk Shank has me drooling. Looks so damn good. Congrats on a beautiful Elk
Awesome video guys thank you so much for sharing 😊 Congratulations to Remi On a nice bull 😊
The best hunting series I've ever watched!
Remi is right about the physical aspect of these hunts I would love to do that but 65 year knees and back won't allow that, great video again.
Watching from Australia….. absolutely love this
You have a natural talent for precise and accurate shooting.

Proceeds to use his riflescope with finger on the trigger to identify game...
Unless your using a intercontinental rocket 🚀
Venison shank & shoulder tacos got me and my roommates through college. Love seeing those cuts of meat used!
Two of the best in one video 🎉 good to see Remi back with Steve
I bowhunted elk in my youth wearing mechanics overalls, rolled up in my pack, slept outside with them and a plastic tarp, low tech but great memories.
Thrilled to see Remi on a MeatEater episode. You guys should hunt together more often.
Remi is one of a kind. being a Michigan native I inherently love Steve, you two together though is top notch. My two dream hunting partners (outside of my dad)

He was talking about hunting in old war surplus which is cool because me and my family do the same thing.
Awesome vid, awesome hunt. Hard work but very rewarding work. Nothing like coming back from a cold day in the field to a slow cooker full of hot food
Love remi and Ronnie. Seem like quality dudes.
Awesome video ! My 2 favorite hunters !!
Another great video, thank you Steve.😀
Full episode drops, I’m a happy guy
Love more hunts. Hope there is a duck hunting one coming this fall.
Excellent hunt, love the willingness to face the elements when others are not
here for it!! 🙏🏿
Pretty crazy. I’m a son of two hunting guides. my dad and my Uncle. used to guide in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. very interesting hunt. and thank you. :-) .
Great video. Remi doesn't get enough episodes. And I want that recipe
Thank you for a great episode.
God Bless you guys.
“That’s a big cat”
“See his tail draggin”
Dude!! I’ve been out of the army for 16 years. I still use my old army cold weather gear every hunt.
What a great way to prep that shank... man, that looks good!
Remi is the GOAT

🦌I kid not am doing some deer shank burgers tonight. Possibly schnitzel style, haven't decided. Great video.🦌
This was my favorite hunting adventure from you. Very much like my own.... but I lucked out and got the 2nd one 🙏🙏🙏👍🤟
Gotta love Tuesday's
17:33
Steve "What's the biggest thing that holds clients back from getting an Elk?"
Remi "Physical fitness and shooting" 😅😅😅
at 11:19 what was that going down hill at the bottom left on screen? Maybe a wolf?
Cannot explain how fast I clicked when I saw Remi & Steve
hey Steve ,wheres the new episodes im not complaining what so ever but ive watched every episode out, seventeen times
Back in the 80s we lived at army/navy surplus in Bzn and hunted in cotton camo from there. Worked fine during archery
Nice, Ossobuco! I love Elk.
You guys are awesome
Great use of the Risky Business-Tangerine Dream inspired audio 😎
Great vidio, I’m tryin the shank now!
Awesome episode! I might try my turkey drumsticks in a slow cooker!
shanks alot for the awesome video

Cuando van a estar en Netflix todo estos capítulos???
Shanks a lot for the video guys.
Shank is my favorite cut. Even over backstraps or tenderloin.
I've seen a lot of videos, read quite a bit of hunting stories, and talked to many elk hunters.
In short, I wonder how many backcountry hunters pack out an elk deboned or pack bone-in.
Those that do debone have told me they'll never go back to packing bone-in.
It's called a "fire chief," Steve, not a "president" of a fire department. Sheesh! (Fire Chief Dave here)
I love watching all of Steve's hunting buddies, especially Janis Papis. Nice job on the shank. Think ill try making a Green Chile with shank instead of pork.
