For latex, this is VERY IMPORTANT, you need to powder yourself AND the inside of you clothing with baby/talcum powder. This absorbs moist and reduced friction between the skin and the latex surface. Wearing latex without powder creates a lot of sweat and makes it very hard to get out of. Also because the friction increases with the moist, high changes of ripping it. Therefore: always powder yourself and your stuff!
LOTS OF LUBE!!! That helps too, they make special latex clothing shine spray and lube to help you get dressed. I LOVE Latex clothing!!
Yes, I remember when this happened to Ross Gellar and he didn't use the powder before he started sweating, he used it afterwards and it made a paste! 🤣
I will also add that after getting in with all the powder, if you want the outside to have that shiny latex look, you can oil the outside 😊

The “fake latex” item detail, material info clearly says that it’s “synthetic leather, polyester”. People are so clueless AND they somehow to fail at reading the clearly detailed info that’s laid out! Item materials and dimensions are detailed on nearly every product page on all websites for all products. There’s no excuse when people are irritated with delivered products that aren’t the size or material they expected!

My mum works in a dentist, way back before places stopped using latex they would just ask. A woman came in and said she’s not allergic to latex, everything was fine. She went home and kissed her husband and he went into anaphylactic shock! So latex allergies can be really sensitive.
I don’t know about clothing though.
I had a dentist years ago, like in the 90’s, who’s daughter developed a latex allergy after she had brought her into an in-office nursery since she was a baby. But then the same dentist couldn’t believe that some people developed could develop allergies to the old mercury amalgam fillings when I told her my dad had his removed.
@@mjrussell414 haha oh dear. I think you can develop an allergy to anything. My mum actually ended up developing a latex allergy from wearing the latex gloves for so long.
This is why I hate how much people brush off latex allergies. I feel a lot of medical professionals basically refuse to educate themselves about it. For most people it’s just a little rash, but for some it’s serious - and you don’t which case someone is until they have the reaction in front of you.
At age 5 I started going into anaphylactic shock everytime I got a shot, but it wasn’t the vaccines themselves. I also got an increasingly bad patch of hives around the injection site so they did a patch test of natural latex and I got the same. They concluded it was the latex in the syringes. Pre-filled plastic syringes still typically contain latex to help seal them, as do most IV tubes, so I’m always very afraid of shots and needles. Many medical professionals I’ve interacted with don’t even know that a lot of plastic syringes / most IV tubes contain latex, even though I’ve been able to point out the warning label to a few of them after they blatantly told me I didn’t have anything to worry about.
The last time I got my blood drawn I calmly kept asking the tech if she had latex-free stuff. Not only the bandaid but also the band they use around your upper arm to cut off blood flow; that often has latex too. She was clearly annoyed when she finally said she wasn’t sure, and I think she only pretended when she left to get latex-free version. By the time she took the band off, hives were already starting. Then the bandaid she used also had latex, because I ended up with hives on half of my entire inner arm and all around my upper arm. But this isn’t even an unusual experience for me! Which is sad and frustrating

Nothing wrong with liking latex clothings without it being a fetish 🤭 oh and that "fake" latex is usually PVC it's a platic material and is a major difference, but as someone else said, powder is super important when using latex and it also requires some maintenance aswell so it lasts 😊

As someone with a raging latex allergy, you could cause some issues if you were too close to me (or someone with the same allergy as me). Back when doctors regularly wore latex gloves, I'd have to have the gloves removed from the room if I was in it, because I'd start to get a reaction if there was powder from the gloves in the air. So no hugging people with latex allergies!

As a Domme and member of the fetish community, I was so tickled to see you try on all of this traditional "fetishwear" with wholesome vanilla eyes. It was really adorable and helps other people see the beauty of the material and the craftsmanship separate from it's usual purpose. Also, if you do this again, you need to cover yourself and the latex clothes in baby powder, ever single time you change. Latex is so "sticky" that it can attach to the skin and when pulled you can cause tiny abrasions which lead to the cuts and itchiness. Most people aren't putting on multiple latex outfits in such a small amount of time so I would stick with one but if you do want to do this format again then please go overboard with the powder, it easily wipes off the latex so it won't hurt the look.

I can't wear it personally (latex allergy, and claustrophobia/sensory issues) but I love seeing it on people, it just looks so avant-garde and high fashion to me, as well as just "fetish" gear.
Plus, I know if I see someone in Fetish gear that they're generally going to be a great person, because the dom/sub community is all about respect and consent 😊

I've been thinking I should just get chlorinated stuff and avoid it all entirely.

@@disheartenedboi I’m not sure who the maker of that particular dress is, but I will say I have never seen stitching used on any reputable brand. Stitching is not necessary and will do more harm than good imo; if you glue properly there is no need to stitch, and there is more of a chance for ripping if you stitch. Not to mention, the thread color doesn’t even match the dress color
I actually know and have worked with a latex designer based in Oregon or Washington and when she walks her lines in a fashion show she has her models basically play in a kiddie pool of baby oil to help get the outfits on 🤣 if you want more info on how latex fashion is made she's super friendly and on most social media as Jerikandra Cosplay! She mainly makes latex cosplays too!!

NEVER use baby oil on latex, it will break down the latex. You use a silicone based oil.

I danced for a good portion of my life and a few years ago I had to wear a latex leotard. Unbeknownst to me, when I was getting dressed (into the latex suit), another dancer started breaking out in hives. After some deliberation, we realized she was stationed next to me. She helped me get into my costume and didn’t know it was full blown latex!
Thankfully her allergic reaction was only hives! She took Benadryl and still performed! At that time, we were assigned our costumes so I had no idea it was 100% latex! Long story short, if you wear it out and somebody is allergic to it… they could have a reaction if they get close enough, etc. Yikes!
The small etsy-shop latex makers are definitely the place to go, especially if you want a made to measure garment, or if you want something custom made many of them will do bespoke and one of a kind items.
They will also make normal “fashion” pieces that aren’t sexual related since a lot of the bigger latex manufacturers specifically make latex garments for kinky stuff.

Getting out of Latex is easy, but messy (kinda). Latex was part of my normal attire for going out during my Goth days. The trick is lots of baby powder... I cannot stress the amount of baby powder needed to get off very tight outfits... when you think you have enough, you don't..... put more on... The easier method of getting latex on or off is baby oil. The downfall is there is nothing to absorb your sweat, so the moistness meter is 20/10 after a night of dancing and you smell pretty bad.
Does latex "keep" the smell of the sweat? Is it easy to wash? I mean, I feel like it looks like you could just rinse it off in the sink lol
Baby oil with latex? The oil will destroy the latex.

@@alyssa329 I would put the latex in a decently sized bucket with luke warm soapy water.. normally ivory soap or an mild detergent. After soaking for about an hour you take it out and rinse it well. I preferred hanging up the item of clothing under the shower head so gravity would help remove the soap. Once thoroughly rinsed take a fluffy towel and use it to help sop up the water inside and out, then hang to drip dry, you can slightly wring the clothing if you are very gentle, you don't want to stretch out the latex, which can happen fairly easy if you aren't gentle with it when wet. I had everything from dresses, catsuits, corsets, pants, boots, and tops... none of them ever held any odor as long as I immediately washed them when I got home.

Hey Mia, love this. And YES there is a way to put on latex and also to make it shine once its on! You either use powder to put it on or oil. Once it''s on you have to polish it with a cloth and make it all shiny. Latex is a natural material and is usually always glued together. There are some super knowledgable latex makers on youtube worth checking out :)
not just any oil!! a random oil can make the material rip and tear with time and use, there are special materials for latex wear:)
also u dont polish it with a clothe, u use a special "lube" that not only makes it shiny but it helps mantain it so it lasts longer

Just in case you're scared you are developing a latex allergy, remember you could also be allergic to the powder and oils used on the clothes, so be careful!
It's definitely worth researching how to look after latex clothes properly so they stay nice :) and how to make them look their best when they're on!

And yeah, latex is a material often associated with fetish, but it has become more mainstream since a couple of years. But I'm not gonna lie, for me it's a fetish and I only found this video because I watch a lot of latex content, but this was genuinely wholesome. But I can give you some more insight on the whole topic.
I make clothing myself. Mostly for partners, but a short time ago I also made a buttoned shirt for myself too.
Latex needs a lot of care. The first garment looked like it had been stored a while without any special care, and because you said you bought the things a year ago, I think that's why it's a little different from the black garments I'd say. Latex doesn't like being stored in heat/light or on air. I store mine oiled up in a plastic bag for example.
And speaking of oil, there are two main things latex comes with. Either talcum powder or silicone oil. I prefer using oil always as it's a nice dressing aid and makes the latex shine beautifully. You just have to get the amount right to not slip on the floor for the next 2 months :D But maybe the itching was because of some of those things. Maybe the latex just pinched you in some places, this can also happen with too little oil
As for how to make latex: it's glued. you can imaging poking holes in a balloon won't be good when you have to stretch it so much, so we use a special kind of rubber glue. Some makers stitch zippers to a piece of latex and glue the piece to the garment, but I for example apply liquid latex to the fabric of the zipper and then use the glue. Those stitches could be potential weekspots
Really sad that the black top didn't fit so nicely, but Latex can also be altered. Maybe you can find someone close to you who does that, so it's actually like it's made to measure
Also love that we agree, that too many things are just called latex because they are wetlook :D
But most importantly, no matter how frustrated you are putting on latex, don't pull so hard with your fingernails, like at 8:51. It will rip and you will be much more frustrated, especially because it's so expensive. But if something ever rips, latex can be repaired too. You will still see the tear a little, but it can be done. Taking off latex is most easy under the shower. Just let water inside and slip it off (theoretically :D)

Latex clothing has been around for a very long time. However, it has been (and still is) mostly associated with fetish wear. Also, it's just not practical to wear to most occasions. So, while it's been seen many times on catwalks or the red carpet, it's not likely to ever become commonly worn.

You can get in to latex with powder, oil or lube. I have a friend that makes Latex clothing and it is a mix of sewing and gluing. She does also also make her own patterns.
As someone with a latex allergy, I think it could cause an allegic reaction as long as it was directly touching my skin. Also I became allergic to latex in my 30s, I was not allegic to it when I was your age. And I am allergic to a ton of stuff too.
The teal latex one reminds me of old nurses uniforms for some reason so maybe as a Halloween costume if you decide to keep it!

My neighbour and aquaintance used to be a latex designer, her brand was called Naucler Design, but she stopped after some personal stuff. I know Tyra Banks wore a pair of her gloves on a magazine cover once, and her designs were used on Swedish television. (we live in Sweden) She used to put together Alt fashion shows for smaller designers and they were always so much fun. "Alternativa Modevisningen på Kulturnatta" might be something you can look up if you're interested.
As someone with sensory issues, the feel and smell of latex makes me cringe and gives me the chills, and yet Mia still makes this enjoyable to watch.

I'll agree with everybody on the baby powder. If you are going to wear latex a lot, another thing that can make it easier to get on is called chlorination. The process itself is actually kinda dangerous, though. But another way to achieve a similar result is to wash your latex clothes with bleach. Over time, the same chemical reaction takes place and makes the interior surface smooth and dry. You'll need less powder and it will be easier to take on and off.
U can buy chlorinated latex.
here's a challenge: custom made photoshoot specific for each style of latex outfit :D would love to see the BTS and results of it and whatever you think suits "black biker set edgy photo" / "cute wednesday addams" - full characterisation make up hair (or wig) etc. PLEASE!
