The Zeiss Distagon T* Lenses are expertly crafted, quality, manual focus, prime lenses with mounts for Canon or Nikon. They all have wide apertures, and brilliantly engineered focus rings. - Наука та технологія
A 15mm f/2.8 arrived yesterday from B&H, and I went out for some night photography. I almost gasped at how sharp the image was and at the beautiful color and contrast. As good a gear decision as I've made.
Own the 25mm f2, an absolutely outstanding lens. Ultra-sharp, high contrast and almost zero chromatic aberrations even wide open! No Nikon / Canon lens comes close.
Great review. I checked them all out as well and was blown away by the 15mm as well.
If you need high quality ,you need Zeiss ,unequalled!
Indeed, as you can imagine, however, the lens wasn't yet available for this review! Thanks for watching.
I have the 15mm 2.8,35mm 1.4, 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.4 Nothing better I LOVE THEM.
Jealous, Jealous and Jealous!
+Michael Mystro Pierce I have the 21mm and its the best lens I have ever worked with. Zeiss deliveres fine quality.
Between the 50 and the 85 which one is your favorite?
i have the 50 1.4....dynamite lens at f4. i have been looking at the 25 f2. probably next, just cost almost three times as much.
i own zeiss 18mm 3.5 / 50mm 1.4 / and 85mm 1.4 and have ordered the 25mm 2 which should be coming soon .. am in love with these lenses they are stunningly sharp and the colors are gorgeous ! .. if anyone gonna buy a zeiss lens ..go for it !!
i have now thw 85mm 1.4 planar on my d800 and it is amazing very Sharp there is something about them either you like them or you hate them i like them if you dont the problem is solved dont by them
for long exposures what do you suggest nikon d7100 or canon 70d
this lens are the same glass of the zeiss CP2 series?
I forgot . . . . The reason I bought through B&H is that the price of the lens has a wide variation among retailers. The B&H price was considerably lower than others.
Only the new 55/1.4 is that expensive, though the 15mm/2.8 is almost $3,000. The other lens in in this video are in the $1,600-1,800 range. Weather sealing is nice at first, but eventually the O-rings of the seal will crack and the sealing will fail, which is probably why Zeiss decided not to have it in these lenses.
You can use either the D7100 or 70D for long exposures. Though, I find that the D7100 has the better image quality.

Why not the 28 f2?
Only a few of the Zeiss Distagon lenses were gone over in this video. If you have specific questions about the Zeiss Distagon 28mm f/2.8, I would suggest sending us an email. We would be happy to answer any questions you might have about the lens. *Christina* AskUA-cam@bhphoto.com
Why can't Carl Zeiss make a manual zoom lens at a price point similar to the prime. They make them for Sony cameras so why not for other brands
Nikon's 20mm 1.8 is sharper, lighter, faster, cheaper,($200.00) and has auto focus over the Zeiss 21mm
D7100
Superior build quality but not weather sealing?...
The newer Milvus lenses are all fully weather sealed.
At $4000/ea for a lens, and there is no weather sealing????
Not sure where you’re looking but they $1000
Most photographers are closing & going out of business.
95% are beginners and post-beginners would rather buy the great Samyang lenses that are sold by you.
If they buy Carl Zeiss, they rather go for Sony with the Japanese Carl Zeiss lenses that have AF and M when needed.
German Carl Zeiss is outdated and about to go into the history books like Hasselblad brick film cameras.
what do you base your (sweeping) statements upon?
respectfulremixer Ritz Camera, Penn Camera, Calumet, Fall Church Camera, Quantum Instruments and Lens Rental.
Hasselblad fired many CEOs within the last 10 years.

Are those enough for you?
