I'm so glad I found you Dylan I have completely changed my entire philosophy on dog training from a balanced trainer to just a dog trainer after finding TWC I can't look at some of the techniques I did for years the same way ever again. Building a foundation of behaviors through play and problem solving each dogs specific needs is so important and most people are so quick to either slap on tools and go straight to corrections or try the "forcefree" approach mostly fucking up by not interupting a problematic behavior before redirecting and rewarding thus creating a sequence of events the dog learns results in reinforcemnt. I'm excited to see more from you and so glad I found your channel. keep it up!

Ivan is the GOAT, I train dogs with leash pressure and toys, it’s easy. Modern food training pales in comparison.

i used to do behavior therapy for autistic kids- and the first step at all- is what we call pairing. you need to build a foundation first of fun, NO demands yet. just following their lead of playtime. and we do that for like 2 weeks of sessions. makes sense this is the same case for dogs. they dont know you. they aren’t going to listen to you when you jump straight to demands

Anytime I have a client from a field like yours, somewhere in human behavior and psychology, I always nerd out to hear things like this. The parallels are very deep.

I have learned a lot from watching your videos and seeing your success with these "disaster" dogs. I worked with a trainer who I feel is not equipped to be taking on these behavioral cases, as she just slaps an e collar on dogs and uses it as a "cure all". One of her "cured" dogs that seemed fine after a 4 week B&T train tried to attack me unprovoked the day it was due to go home. I don't feel a lot of these trainers are equipped or knowledgeable and are just charging people to "fix" dogs but they aren't helping the situation.

HAHAHA!! WHAT THE!! If you know how to train dogs, it's really easy to eliminate bad behaviors at any given point! AS IN the same sentence you say you've had this dog for 8 days! So, ether its not that easy to eliminate bad behavior OR YOU'RE milking the owners for money! Got it.
