What is your exhaust set up? Is it straight piped?
I really like the sound of exhaust but the pops are way too loud for me. K have same exact car and want the sound minus the pops, is that possible?

I had a question. At minute 4:36 when you compared the old cat to the new one, the new one has a pipe connected to it. Did you buy that or was it from the car ??? I just got a 328i and I want to put this exact one on just not sure how.
It was on the car from the midpipe I ordered but stock one works too

hey i was thinking about doing something like this however i hate the obnoxious 4cyl cold start it sounds like a honda civic. at 5:25 you say that a tune can fix it. can you please tell me how. thanks
Ya so when you buy a tune usually the tuner gives you some options: rear o2 delete, cold star delete, burble tune etc.
When you purchase the tune you just ask the tuner to remove the cold start since the only point of it is to warm up the Cats. With my tune, BM3, their are settings the use can tweak and I basically have an on/off button if I want coldstart or not.
I have the same car 428i , I kinda kinda regret not going up to a 435i but I was rushed into getting it. I mean I can’t complain it’s a pretty fast car esp from launch control any thoughts on your car?
What I always tell myself is at least the 328i has better weight distribution XD

Hey I just bought this downpipe and I can’t decide if I should install it myself or pay a shop to do it. How hard was it and how long did it take? And do you have an upgraded front mount intercooler or are you running stage 2 without one?
I have an upgraded front mount. If you have all the tools you need and a friend or two that have experience working on cars go for it yourself. its not hard just annoying to line up. I don't remember how long it took but just have a day planed out for it bc I might tell you 2hrs but it takes up 6 for you to do it
DaniSkander I ended up doing it myself, didn’t go too bad at all. The car drones ar 2100 RPM’s though, do you have the same drone?
DaniSkander I’m now realizing that I have a leak at the mid pipe clamp and I’m thinking at the turbo clamp as well. Did you replace the gasket for the turbo clamp? Is that necessary?

how’s the smell with the downpipe,and could you still get pops with just downpipe and muffler delete?
Since I use E30 the smell of ethanol is more prominent and I don't mind it

That with a catless downpipe is my ideal setup but the quad exhaust is too expensive for me. You will have a CEL with no cats but it's not harmful. The coldstart shouldn't be too bad since you have a muffler.

So if I get a catless downpipe will I have to put E85? Or just premium gas?
E85 is probably a special tune option. Bolt on parts don’t require a special type of fuel. With minimal parts installed, for example if you have a down pipe only with a tune you can easily run the 93 octane only tune to get the most out of your down pipe or full exhaust set up.
where did you get the quad exit from?
Is the car fast? My buddy has a 435i and I find it fast. Will the 328i be capable of achieving 335/435i speed and torque with a tune?

No. It will not turn on unless you do not have a tune. Tune your car then do the catless downpipe

I’m debating on doing this but I’ve heard these engines are easy to break and can’t hold anything over stock.
They are easy to break after a certain point . which seems to be about 350 wheel hp/tq. The problem is thet get near 0 oil pressure under high Gs. However going cat-less and a simple tune won't throw you over that limit.

@@alejoloja2203 It is not necessary, but you will have a CEL unless you get O2 spacers or code it out. You will also not benefit from most of the power gains, just the sound gains.
After installing the pipe my car has went into limp mode will a bootmod3 fix that
Have not tried the pipe without a tune. CEL will def turn on due to O2 readings but idk if that would cause limp mode. Get a code reader from Amazon and it will show you all issues

its not all that expensive, but if you cant afford it dont get one. Met many BMW owners who force buy it and cant keep up with either payments, maintenance, etc. If you have the money I definitely would go for it but not a 328i get a 335i
I bought it pre-owned and it came with free maintenance for 3yrs. Nothing really went wrong other than an axle but that was my fault. As long as you do everything youself you should be solid
Keep money set aside for when it needs work. Expensive? Not cheap cars to fix.

Nah wouldn’t change it by much stock exhaust really limits the sound .
@@ChivoLife i got a catless downpipe, and the sound became totally different. Its actually quit good sound with some burbles too
Sorry just saw this but ya even with stock exhaust it will change it a lot. Especially when valve opens

Haha, only if you do dumb stuff that'll get you pulled over. Technically that's not just a problem in Cali tho, that's nation wide.
isn’t e30 5 gallons of e85?
If you are doing the calculations by hand I think you are forgetting that normal fuel also has 10% ethanol content.
So 4 gal of E85 is 4*.85 = 3.4 gallons of ethanol
11.6 gal of gas is 11.6*.10= 1.16 gallons of ethanol
so now you have 4.56 gal of ethanol out of 11.6 which 29% Ethanol (E29)
However when you are filling up you usually have some fuel left so you are adding a little more ethanol than you actually need making up for that 1%

It is recommended but no your car won't be in limp mode.

Enkei RS05RRs. I went for a square setup with 4 fronts but I wish I went with 4 rears for wider tires. That would require front camber to fit tho.
