His search for an antidote became desperate, crazed. Unable to accept his wife’s death, every treasure of the kingdom-every scrap of wealth-was sacrificed to his quest to return her to him. As the land fell into disarray, Viego hid himself away with Isolde’s body, becoming hateful and violent. Then came the day he learned the secret of the Blessed Isles, of its water that healed any ailment. How about The Climb and then Senna: Shadow's Embrace pls? They are connected and explain story of Lucian and Senna. Also, I love The Climb, especially the music.
It's the symbol of the "Sentinels Of Light", the organisation to which Lucian and Senna belong. They once fought against The Mist. They were always the first front against it ("We don't run from darkness, we led the way.") Actually, The Mist never left The Shadow Isles and the surrounding sea before. Viego is the Ruined King, the king of The Shadow Isles and the black mist. It seems like the soul of his wife was within Senna. Senna once was captured at the Shadow Isles, after Lucian got his wife back from this place. No one knows, what happened to Senna at the Isles, but clearly the soul of the Queen was now inside her. When Viego pulls the soul out of Senna, the queen screams her name, possibly because she dont want to go back to the king. Riot confirmed that this is only the beginning of the Ruined King plot. The story continues over the whole year of 2021.
I think is "we light the way" ; about the soul of isolde on senna, it is that an event when senna was still as child/teenager occurred where she got "cursed" by the mist when she got too close to sea wreck that came from the isles, it was isolde that had run and atached herself on senna without the girl knowing, after this wherever senna was, the harrowing would came and she believed that it was chasing her until she got trapped on the lantern of thresh and isolde revealed herself.
The mist continuously chased Senna because Isolde’s soul was inside of her and Viego wanted her back. Lucian’s dad (who was a Sentinel of Light) chose her over Lucian to train as a Sentinel because of the mist going over after her. Lucian only really started his training as a Sentinel when Senna came to his home to give him his dad’s weapon and tell him of his death. They eventually fell in love and got married. I’m not really 100% certain what happened to Senna when she got captured by Thresh, but I think while in the lantern she learned how to make a weapon that knowledge how to make it was lost. Viego wasn’t always the king of the Shadow Isles. I can’t remember off the top of my head where he ruled, but he went to the Blessed Isles to bring back his wife because Isolde became ill and died. He somehow f***ed up and ended up killing himself while transforming the Blessed Isles into the Shadow Isles.
Camavor was the name of the land where Viego Royally came from. An unknown land (to us) that is estimated to be east of the shadow isles and Ionia, there are no more exact information, but is estimated to not be too isolated cause the darkin war had conection to it and its core was still Valoran (Vladimir was from Camavor, uncle of Viego actually, so)

In fact she only had a fragment of it, if you listen at the interactions Viego has with Yorik you will see that he has another one. Its similar to Voldemorts horcruxes though its not known how many of these fragments are there or how many Viego has collected.

@@lockheedc-5msupergalaxy80 It's just my theory but listen to Isolde's voice when Vigo draws her soul from Senna. She clearly sounds like a little girl. We don't actually know how old Isolde was when she met Vigo. And everything we do know could be just a legend, just like The Ruined King before was just a legend and only recently Vigo has awakened and is real. Soooo... What if Isolde wasn't in love with Vigo at all? What if she was just a child, who was being abused by a king? I mean who could stop Vigo? No one. He was a king. And depending on time period and culture, marriage with little girls may actually be legal. I mean back in the Middle Ages marrying 12 years old girl was pretty common and 15 year old girl was already considered too old to marry. I'm not joking. So maybe Isolde is a victim. What if it wasn't a love story at all, but a story of a raped child, abused by a powerful king, unable to resist. Maybe she didn't stab Vigo because of black mist, but simply because she hated him, found release in death and was furious to be brought back to life to suffer again. That would more than justify Isolde's support for Senna and Lucian and her standing up against Vigo now.
@@ripLunarBirdCLH In line with many ancient civilizations; marriages, especially royal marriages, were almost always arranged for political reasons or to maintain succession/balance of geopolitical power. Usually, heirs were marriageable as soon as the body was physically able to conceive/birth a child (ie: shortly after start of puberty). Although not right away, as they had their elite education to finish. Actual date of marriage wasn't tied to age but necessity (death of the king, [preventing] war, etc), or the completion of elite schooling (which would be the equivalent of high school in modern times). Average age for marriage that went "as planned" would be 17-19. Think Game of Thrones' Thomas Baratheon being in his early/mid teens was married off to his older brother's (who was in his late teens) widow (the queen, in her mid/late 20s) to maintain the family's name on the throne. If Camavor is modeled after an actual historical society (probably latin by the names--Viego and Isolde--and both his and Isolde's accents); Then Isolde was probably married off very young, early to mid teens. She would likely have been no older than 15/16. This is also a call back to life expectancy being very short back then. Common folk died by 30/40, with elites lasting longer to 50/60. We don't know much about Isolde, but generally when heirs or royal blood were married off super young, it may be to pay a "ransom" or stabilize a conflict. An unwanted marrying off... I mean, almost all of them were unwanted, usually by the female, but in "ransom" cases, it was an upset to the family paying that debt. So again, she was likely 15/16
The soul that was in senna was the queen of camavor she was the reason why she stayed the same after she came out of thresh lantern (p.s senna found the queens soul in some random wreckage near the sea)
Not the queen of the shadow isles. The queen of the Ruined King's Kingdom which is not shown in the lore map. The Shadow isles used to be the blessed isles and is not part of the ruined kingdom
So as a person very into League lore, I'm gonna try to explain all the characters and how they are connected so it makes sense, but I may miss some details. Viego, the Ruined King was a king that once ruled a far off land, but after her queen, Isolde got sick (and then later died), he tried to find a way to cure (later revive) her. Eventually one of his underlings, Kalista, found the Blessed Isles and the monks there eventually told her about the healing waters of that place. Those waters though couldn't bring dead back to life. Since the knowledge of the queen Kalista had at that time, she wasn't aware that the queen had passed away by the time she had found the Blessed Isles. Long story short, the king, Viego took the corpse of the queen to the Blessed Isles and tried to revive her. She was eventually revived, but not as human but a wraith. She ended up killing the king with his own magical blade. Then magic from the waters and the blade clashed and exploded outwards, converting the Blessed Isles into the Shadow Isles we know of in the lore today. That's where the fog (also known as the mist) and the shadowy undead creatures in this cinematic are from. The king now pretty much rules over all of the island in his undeath. Senna, the Redeemer is a Sentinel of Light (the symbols at the end and the start belong to the Sentinels of Light) that was "posessed" by the queen Isolde's soul and she eventually learned to live together with her. The whispers at the start of the video were from Isolde. You can even see blue light coming from Senna when Isolde speaks to her. Because she harbors the soul of the queen in her body, she was constantly a target for the shadowy monsters and the mist in general. Sentinels of Light as you can guess are people who try to protect the world from the mist and prevent the Ruination. Lucian, the Purifier is Senna's beloved and also Sentinel of Light. You can know more about him and the connection to Senna in other League cinematics. As for the other characters in this cinematic, I don't think they are as important. Edit: Karma, the one you said you'd seen in the other cinematics - yes, you've seen her but at that moment you were thinking of Irelia. In Awakened cinematic you saw Karma as well, shield other people and give Yasuo movement speed before he did his tornado. Edit 2: If you do want to know who the other characters are by name, they are: Darius, Samira, Poppy and Vayne. And of course Karma. Let me explain: the thing he took out of Senna and collected was the soul of the queen. That is why she was haunted n hunted by the mist ever since she was a little girl, the mist was after the queen within her. Then the different invasions by the mist are happening worldwide in Runeterra, in places very far and away from where Senna and Lucian are fighting Viego, showing how powerful he is. Darius n Samira are in Noxus (the commander of the soldiers n badass lady), Karma alone in Ionia, and Poppy and Vayne in Demacia (the small blue yordle and female monster hunter). If you look at a map of Runeterra you can see how spread out these places are. And at the end is a symbol of the sentinels of light, what Lucian and Senna are, people fighting the mist as their mission. Its teasing a new champion who will also be a sentinel of light, and needed in the fight against Viego.

The Whispers that Senna is hearing are from the Soul (or a fragment) of the Ruined Queen (AKA Isolde) which is hidden inside Senna. *Not confirmed by Riot games.* The Mist and the ruination are controlled by the ruined king (AKA Viego) who is looking for his wife. For unknown reasons at the time of the ruination, the mist appears everywhere across Runeterra In this case it appears in Ionia where Karma is, in Demacia where Poppy the yordle and later Vayne fights it and in Noxus where Darius and Samira face the mist. *Disclaimer* I obviously am not a pro in the Lore of League I just know the big story if you guys want more answers I recommend going to Necrits channel. Also English is my 2nd language please forgive the mistakes I may have made and feel free to correct me.
For a bit of backstory to the cinematic, the ruined king is, or rather was, well, a king, who was a powerful mage, his queen got sick with some illness, and began dying, it didn't take long until it worsened and she eventually died, however Virgo loved her so much he wanted to save her. He and his men set off to the blessed isles, which is a place in the league universe where many monks lived and protected sacred artifacts. One monk among these was Thresh, who is also one of the champions in the game. He was more on the evil side, this'll be important a bit later on. By the time Virgo and his men arrived at the blessed isles, the queen's corpse had partially decayed, and he threatened the monks to bring her back, however they refused. He ordered his men to slaugher them, but Kalista (another champion) refused. He ordered Hecarim (ANOTHER champion), who was a powerful general atop a horso to kill her, so his whole squad of warriors threw their spears at her chest, which is why she looks the way she does. After this, Hecarim and his warriors began slaughtering them, until one finally agreed, from what I remember it's wasn't Thresh, however he had gone to the vaults where the afromentioned artifacts stored. He opened them and prepared them for use to fight back. During this time, when the monk brought the queen back, she was still a corpse, only now she could talk, and obviously she was in immense pain and suffering. The King was so heartstruck that he began to cast an attack that would wipe out him, the queen and some area around them, but thanks to the artifacts i mentioned the attack became too powerful, and after consuming many artifacts it became corrupt as well. It fused Hecarim together with his horse, made the dying Kalista what she is now, made himself into what he is, however he did manage to kill the queen. This is also how Maokai (another playable character) born, Yorick too. All the monks were corrupted by the mist and it commanded them to take off these little vials that protected them from the mist, while Yorick persisted and didn't listen to them, managing to stay alive. Anyways, this whole story boils down to the fact that the blue orb is the soul of his Queen.

The story behind Viego, The Ruined King is very romantic and sad. In a nutshell There was a young king who fell in love in a seamstress. He was loving her so much but he didn't care about the country, so those ones who really cared wanted to took him down. But king was guarded and queen got hit by a poisoned dagger. He wanted to heal and sent guard for help when his guard returned with knowlage how to heal queen, it was too late queen had died and king was locked in a room with her rotting corpse. When his guard told him about place that she had found. he traveled with corpse of queen and murdered everyone until he would know how to revive her. One of the monks told him about waters of life which resurrected his wife corpses but she became a monster that took his blade and pierced his chest the power of a magic sword and isles amplified started ruination. After that soul of queen has been traveled and finally had fused with Senna. In that cinematic Viego took essence of Isolde(queen) from Senna and is storing her until he find a way to get her a body.

About this character lore: His name is Viego (you listened it in the first whispering), he is the king of the no name kingdom that very peaceful, but then his wife, Isolde have been assassinate and infected by a very strong curse. She just beg for the death, so Viego cast a magic that kill both him and his wife so they can be together forever. But, another unfortunately, the holy water make that magic the million time stronger, curse all the island, and make it become shadow island, and his wife soul be seperater all over the mist( it call The Ruination in the history book). Really cool video, but I was hoping to see the reaction to the RIOT "breathe - legends of runeterra" cinematic, with that you will have a lot to talk about the effects, because oh man there are so many and so great.
The new characters name is Viego, he is a 2nd prince suddenly turned King and due to love ends up destroying an Island called the Blessed Isles and causes his Undeath kind of transformation. His sword is magical in nature and the soul he grabbed from Senna is his wife Isolde. The special effects across different areas are called Ruinations which cause ruin to places (supposedly due to having Sentinals of Light there). Sentinals of Light are a faction that were created to stop the ruinations and the Ruined King, they are the arrow looking symbol in the cinematic.
The symbol at the start and end is the symbol for the sentinel of lights which are people that fight against the ruination (Senna and Lucian are part of the sentinel of lights), Senna had part of the soul of the queen in her since she was young and Viego (the king) is looking for his queen, this is how the ruination/mist found it's way to Senna. The queen ran away from Viego after being revived as a ghost only he doesn't remember bascause when she got revived she stabbed him with his sword and he doesnt remeber anything after the point that she arose from the pool (so he doesnt know she stabbed him and ran away).
Actually the meaning of the symbol showed in the beginning and the end is the *Sentinels of Light*, were the couples Lucian and Senna are part of it. They are fighting against the Mist to prevent Ruination led by the Ruined King, Viego. Viego sucks the soul(which is his wife, Isolde) as he do it in the game as in his 1st skill. Overall, this cinematic is the beginning of the upcoming game, *Ruined King: League of Legends Story*
He is Viego, The Ruined King. He lost her queen, and Senna, The Redeemer, she master to absorb souls inside Thresh, The Chain Warden's lantern. She mastered how to deal with souls inside of it. Just my theory, maybe she chose to bring the queen with her because, she knew, that this is going to happen. The cute little fuzzy creature with a Hammer is actually called Yordles, she choses to reside in Demacia, her name is Poppy.
This story of Viego and The Ruination will be a big one covering multiple character releases and events spanning most of Riots games. Its s big story for the world
The new character's name is Viego if you heard in the whispers the last word; "The mist.." "..is close.." "..Ruination.." "..Viego!" Viego is the Ruined King, in game before(just to give you an idea) there is this item called "Blade of the Ruined King" and it's exactly what he summoned except with violet glow maybe symbolizing that the blade is no longer clutched or held by the mist or smth but it was long rumored that he was dead...or so everyone thought. Everyone elso thought that Senna(Lucian's wife) was also dead but managed to survive the mist. Why? The blue orb of light that screamed "SEENNAA!!!". That, my friend, is the Queen named 'Isolde'. You see, Isolde, the Queen actually caused the Ruination by accident. Viego and Isolde's story TLDR: The young King was supposed to get assassinated but was protected, the weapon was poisoned and as one of the King's guards deflected it, it hit the Queen's arm which allegedly caused her death. Grieving, the king sent one of his trusted guards to find the cure so when this guard did find the cure and was away, when she returned, it was too late; the Queen, Isolde had died. So the desperate King tried everything and when he dipped Isolde in the waters of life(as a dead corpse), in shock, she stabbed Viego with the blade of the Ruined King causing the Ruination and corruption of a powerful advanced city that literally fell to ruin. Now Isolde was able to survive the Ruination corruption because she was dipped in the waters of life, everyone who was in or has a relic of the waters of life are not corrupted by the mist. Now since Viego was corrupted, he ONLY remembers that he needs to rescue his Queen and save her. The part when the Queen stabs him, he does not remember. I swear the actual story is longer than that and I think I've summed up a few lore together to complete Viego's. In game he steals a team mate when he kills them which means all 3 skills he can use but he can't use their ultimate because his ultimate is becoming them.
About your "where is Yasuo?" question: He went to an island of pirates named Bilgwater with Ahri (probably you know her as kumiho/nine tailed fox girl) and is going to travel to the Shadow Isles (where Viego made all of the ghostly mess and was currently hiding). He also has other companions, Miss Fortune (queen of the pirates), Illaoi (priestess of a sea goddess), Pyke (undead monster hunter and serial killer) and also Braum (big nordic guy with a big shield).

Symbol is the Sigil of the Sentinels of Light, which Senna and Lucian are part of. You see it on the outpost tower, on her earings and on the tombstone at the end (it was the tomb of a dead sentinel), and since Senna can talk to souls, she may be able to learn more about a way to defeat the Ruined King (Viego).
Quick explanation: This King used to have a Queen, when she died he tried everything to get her back from death, he went to the blessing island to accomplish that, but with these bad intentions the blessing island turned into the shadow island, where gave place to return from death all characters like Thresh, Hecarim, Kalista, etc. and he (Viego) died, the Queens soul ended in Senna since she was a child living near those island and since then she protects Senna, but when the King wake up he is blinded to get his Queen back.
8:00 that symbol is actually the symbol of the light sentinels which points this place was previously a base for the night sentinels one lived and btw senna and lucian or one of them are associated with being one of the night sentinel's member

When you said they are really calm they are fighting against him and the shadow realm the whole time, lucian(the guy) saved his wife senna from threshes lantern. Lucian cinematic is amazing if you haven't done it already
great vid chris :) that triangular symbol you mentioned at the tower. Thats the symbol of the Sentinels of Light, its an order of people that dedicate themeselfs in fighting the undead. The same order Lucian and Senna belong to.
I find it so cool how much of the story Chris can learn from the cinematic techniques. Especially when he doesn’t know any of the characters on screen.
So. I'm not gonna talk about about Viego and The Ruination as other comments already covered this. BUT. After The Ruination happened and The Black Mist from The Shadow Isles (which were previously Blessed Isles but were destroyed by Viego) became a problem - a sacred order was formed to combat The Black Mist. They were called Sentinels of Light. Both Senna and Lucian that are shown in the begining of the cinematic are members of this order and they're using magical, runic weapons to combat the creatures of The Mist. Normal weapons just aren't enough because cratures of The Mist aren't really alive. The symbol we see on the building and on the stone in the end is the symbol of Sentinels of Light. Lucian and Senna were fighting The Mist for the long time, then Senna was defeated, presumed dead. One of the strongest monsters from The Shadow Isles, Thresh, ripped her soul from her body and imprisoned her in his lantern. Then Lucian somehow managed to rescue his wife and she came back to life. But not alone. Other souls from The Mist also inhabited her body, gave Senna insight into what The Black Mist is up to. And one of those souls is Isolde, former Viego's lover and ex-queen. Basically the places hit by The Black Mist in this cinematic weren't random. They were places marked by Sentinels of Light with their symbol. You could say Viego is making a counterattack by hitting the places connected to sworn enemy of The Black Mist.
Veigo (Dude with the giant sword) is the Ruined King. He's after the essence of his queen which Senna has. You were more or less right with the idea of her having two souls inside her, hers and that of the queen.
The orb was the Queen's soul ;) for real this is why he confronts her with "Return my Queen" The whispers that Senna hears are from her and this is why at the end Senna says 'we have to go back for her' the first time, the queen (Isolde) whispers, she says 'ruination, he's close, Viego [guy's name]' then screams 'Senna' when she's being ripped away from Senna and when you look at the colour coding, Senna's eyes glow emerald green, I suppose as a reflection of her soul; but the part on her chest that's glowing and the orb itself is blue and through these colours I am assuming it is sort of hinted that it is not actually part of Senna would be cool seeing you react to Tales of Runeterra: Double-double Cross
About the part 12:25 where you said "they are very calm about this" i wanna tell something about their story. Senna was captured and lived in the mist. Lucian fought in the mist to save her. That mist is a big danger for runeterra and they know it will now go away. So they knew it will come eventually. Btw i LOVE your reactions and watching every video 10 times at least! Love the reaction. This is personally one of my favorite league cinematics of all time. I love the reference to ulquiorra (ulquiorra vs vasto lorde Ichigo is one of the best fights in anime) also quick trivia, the two characters in the beginning Lucian and senna are husband and wife and the blue ball is the soul of Viego’s wife who resided inside of senna
To make things simple: Viego is the villain. His wife was killed, and he went mad. Unable to accept her death, he attempted to resurrect her despite being told the magic doesn't work that way. Hurt, afraid, and enraged at being pulled from the peace of the afterlife, her shade kills him with his own sword. This corrupts the magic of the pool he used to attempt her revival, causing a cataclysm known as The Ruination. He is brought back as the near godlike king of the corrupted mist. Her soul is splintered and the bits flee from him. He is attempting to gather them and bring her back. One of those pieces was in Senna.
Digic Pictures did the animation for this. They were also the ones that made the Season 2019 Cinematic and the Senna Cinematic. I guess Riot chose them since Digic already made assets and models of Senna, Lucian, and Karma. So they just need to make models for Darius, Samira, Poppy, Vayne, and Viego. It saved them time and money.
So for his backstory (This is purely off memory so I probably got a few specifics wrong) but An unspecified amount of time ago (implied to be centuries) he was the king of a very prosperous kingdom. BUT his wife fell ill, nothing could cure her, not medicine, not magic, nothing. So he sends one of his most trusted knights; Kalista, to travel the world to find anything that will help his wife. Kalista eventually finds a distant place called the Blessed Isles and they claim they can cure the queen. The only caviat is, the king cannot under any condition come to the Blessed Isles. Kalista returns with the news, however the queen had died while she was gone. The king was by this point, decending into a grief filled madness. He takes his armies, and his wife's body, and marches on the Blessed Isles. I forget what exactly transpires, but he has Kalista murdered. She wakes up WAYYYY later as a spirit and the Blessed Isles had become the Shadow Isles, where Evelynn and the black mist you see in this cinematic originate. We've known he exists in some capacity for a while but this cinamtic reveals to us that he's actually still searching for his wife's soul, apparently she'd been residing inside Senna(the main woman who he fights)

Have played him, Veigo. His seemingly mind control powers are a little pulled back in the game. There is a fair reason why he was less effective using that control on some characters like the girl called Karma who was fighting alone. Although he seems to take on Senna and Lucian, League will tell you his play style is more like an assassin, meaning he's much better in one-on-one surprise fights, which I agree with. Fast evasive characters like Samira & Yasuo can be better against him. Imagine it: he hides in his mist, you know he could be in there but it's his turf. He has a stun + dash ability, which we saw in the cinematic but that is his fight starter, not great for running away or chasing fleeing foes.
I Would highly recommend watching the planetside 2 official trailer its scifi fps mmo with a 2000player cap with a all out 3 faction war. The trailer does a good job showing that
In regards to why Viego doesn't just kill Senna and Lucien, simple he just doesn't care, Viego cares only about getting his wife back everything is irrelevant to him. For Viego killing those 2 would be expending energy getting used to find other pieces of his wife's soul (it's implied that blue orb was just a fragment and not the whole thing).

The green woman thats in the circle of shadows is called Karma, "Floating blades and longer hair" You're probably Talking about Irelia who's Asian, karma I'm not entirely sure what race she's inspired from but she has a darker skin tone and short hair, Both of these characters also played in the cinematic Awaken so that's probably why you confused the 2!

His nation’s enemies, meanwhile, saw an opportunity to strike. And the vipers began to circle.
Thus did an assassin’s poisoned dagger one day come for Viego. But the king was well defended, and the dagger did not strike true-instead grazing Isolde.
The toxin worked quickly, and Isolde fell into a ruinous torpor, while Viego could only watch in horror as his wife’s condition grew ever more serious. Overwhelmed with fury and despair, he spent every last coin within his coffers trying to save her.
But it was all for naught. Isolde perished in her bed, and Viego was consumed by madness.
His search for an antidote became desperate, crazed. Unable to accept his wife’s death, every treasure of the kingdom-every scrap of wealth-was sacrificed to his quest to return her to him. As the land fell into disarray, Viego hid himself away with Isolde’s body, becoming hateful and violent.
Then came the day he learned the secret of the Blessed Isles, of its water that healed any ailment. With his great army, he stormed the peaceful country by force, slaughtering everyone who stood in his way until he at last breached its inner sanctum and let his wife drift beneath the blessed water. She would return to him, no matter the destruction he wrought. No matter the cost.
And for just one moment, she did.
Isolde arose a horrifying wraith of shadow and rage, and in her pain, her anger, her confusion at being ripped from death, she took Viego’s own enchanted blade and thrust it through his heart. The magic of the waters and the ancient sword clashed, and the chamber’s energy erupted, tearing across the Isles and trapping everything it touched in tortured, conscious undeath.
Yet of this, Viego remembers nothing. His country collapsed into ruin, great nations rose and fell, and in time, even his name was forgotten... until, a thousand years after his death, Viego stood once more. And this time, he would not fail.
His mind twisted by the same dangerous obsession he possessed in life, Viego’s unflinching, deranged love fuels his every action, his every desire, his every atrocity. It's the symbol of the "Sentinels Of Light", the organisation to which Lucian and Senna belong. They once fought against The Mist. They were always the first front against it ("We don't run from darkness, we led the way.") Actually, The Mist never left The Shadow Isles and the surrounding sea before. Viego is the Ruined King, the king of The Shadow Isles and the black mist. It seems like the soul of his wife was within Senna. Senna once was captured at the Shadow Isles, after Lucian got his wife back from this place. No one knows, what happened to Senna at the Isles, but clearly the soul of the Queen was now inside her. When Viego pulls the soul out of Senna, the queen screams her name, possibly because she dont want to go back to the king.
Riot confirmed that this is only the beginning of the Ruined King plot. The story continues over the whole year of 2021.
I think is "we light the way" ; about the soul of isolde on senna, it is that an event when senna was still as child/teenager occurred where she got "cursed" by the mist when she got too close to sea wreck that came from the isles, it was isolde that had run and atached herself on senna without the girl knowing, after this wherever senna was, the harrowing would came and she believed that it was chasing her until she got trapped on the lantern of thresh and isolde revealed herself.

The mist continuously chased Senna because Isolde’s soul was inside of her and Viego wanted her back. Lucian’s dad (who was a Sentinel of Light) chose her over Lucian to train as a Sentinel because of the mist going over after her. Lucian only really started his training as a Sentinel when Senna came to his home to give him his dad’s weapon and tell him of his death. They eventually fell in love and got married. I’m not really 100% certain what happened to Senna when she got captured by Thresh, but I think while in the lantern she learned how to make a weapon that knowledge how to make it was lost.
Viego wasn’t always the king of the Shadow Isles. I can’t remember off the top of my head where he ruled, but he went to the Blessed Isles to bring back his wife because Isolde became ill and died. He somehow f***ed up and ended up killing himself while transforming the Blessed Isles into the Shadow Isles.
Camavor was the name of the land where Viego Royally came from. An unknown land (to us) that is estimated to be east of the shadow isles and Ionia, there are no more exact information, but is estimated to not be too isolated cause the darkin war had conection to it and its core was still Valoran (Vladimir was from Camavor, uncle of Viego actually, so)

In fact she only had a fragment of it, if you listen at the interactions Viego has with Yorik you will see that he has another one. Its similar to Voldemorts horcruxes though its not known how many of these fragments are there or how many Viego has collected.

It's just my theory but listen to Isolde's voice when Vigo draws her soul from Senna. She clearly sounds like a little girl.
We don't actually know how old Isolde was when she met Vigo. And everything we do know could be just a legend, just like The Ruined King before was just a legend and only recently Vigo has awakened and is real.
Soooo... What if Isolde wasn't in love with Vigo at all? What if she was just a child, who was being abused by a king? I mean who could stop Vigo? No one. He was a king. And depending on time period and culture, marriage with little girls may actually be legal. I mean back in the Middle Ages marrying 12 years old girl was pretty common and 15 year old girl was already considered too old to marry. I'm not joking.
So maybe Isolde is a victim. What if it wasn't a love story at all, but a story of a raped child, abused by a powerful king, unable to resist. Maybe she didn't stab Vigo because of black mist, but simply because she hated him, found release in death and was furious to be brought back to life to suffer again.
That would more than justify Isolde's support for Senna and Lucian and her standing up against Vigo now.

Usually, heirs were marriageable as soon as the body was physically able to conceive/birth a child (ie: shortly after start of puberty). Although not right away, as they had their elite education to finish. Actual date of marriage wasn't tied to age but necessity (death of the king, [preventing] war, etc), or the completion of elite schooling (which would be the equivalent of high school in modern times). Average age for marriage that went "as planned" would be 17-19.
Think Game of Thrones' Thomas Baratheon being in his early/mid teens was married off to his older brother's (who was in his late teens) widow (the queen, in her mid/late 20s) to maintain the family's name on the throne.
If Camavor is modeled after an actual historical society (probably latin by the names--Viego and Isolde--and both his and Isolde's accents); Then Isolde was probably married off very young, early to mid teens. She would likely have been no older than 15/16. This is also a call back to life expectancy being very short back then. Common folk died by 30/40, with elites lasting longer to 50/60.
We don't know much about Isolde, but generally when heirs or royal blood were married off super young, it may be to pay a "ransom" or stabilize a conflict. An unwanted marrying off... I mean, almost all of them were unwanted, usually by the female, but in "ransom" cases, it was an upset to the family paying that debt. So again, she was likely 15/16
The soul that was in senna was the queen of camavor she was the reason why she stayed the same after she came out of thresh lantern (p.s senna found the queens soul in some random wreckage near the sea)

Isolde is not the Queen of Shadow Isles
So as a person very into League lore, I'm gonna try to explain all the characters and how they are connected so it makes sense, but I may miss some details.
Viego, the Ruined King was a king that once ruled a far off land, but after her queen, Isolde got sick (and then later died), he tried to find a way to cure (later revive) her. Eventually one of his underlings, Kalista, found the Blessed Isles and the monks there eventually told her about the healing waters of that place. Those waters though couldn't bring dead back to life. Since the knowledge of the queen Kalista had at that time, she wasn't aware that the queen had passed away by the time she had found the Blessed Isles. Long story short, the king, Viego took the corpse of the queen to the Blessed Isles and tried to revive her. She was eventually revived, but not as human but a wraith. She ended up killing the king with his own magical blade. Then magic from the waters and the blade clashed and exploded outwards, converting the Blessed Isles into the Shadow Isles we know of in the lore today. That's where the fog (also known as the mist) and the shadowy undead creatures in this cinematic are from. The king now pretty much rules over all of the island in his undeath.
Senna, the Redeemer is a Sentinel of Light (the symbols at the end and the start belong to the Sentinels of Light) that was "posessed" by the queen Isolde's soul and she eventually learned to live together with her. The whispers at the start of the video were from Isolde. You can even see blue light coming from Senna when Isolde speaks to her. Because she harbors the soul of the queen in her body, she was constantly a target for the shadowy monsters and the mist in general.
Sentinels of Light as you can guess are people who try to protect the world from the mist and prevent the Ruination.
Lucian, the Purifier is Senna's beloved and also Sentinel of Light. You can know more about him and the connection to Senna in other League cinematics.
As for the other characters in this cinematic, I don't think they are as important.
Edit: Karma, the one you said you'd seen in the other cinematics - yes, you've seen her but at that moment you were thinking of Irelia. In Awakened cinematic you saw Karma as well, shield other people and give Yasuo movement speed before he did his tornado.
Edit 2: If you do want to know who the other characters are by name, they are: Darius, Samira, Poppy and Vayne. And of course Karma.

Let me explain: the thing he took out of Senna and collected was the soul of the queen. That is why she was haunted n hunted by the mist ever since she was a little girl, the mist was after the queen within her. Then the different invasions by the mist are happening worldwide in Runeterra, in places very far and away from where Senna and Lucian are fighting Viego, showing how powerful he is. Darius n Samira are in Noxus (the commander of the soldiers n badass lady), Karma alone in Ionia, and Poppy and Vayne in Demacia (the small blue yordle and female monster hunter). If you look at a map of Runeterra you can see how spread out these places are. And at the end is a symbol of the sentinels of light, what Lucian and Senna are, people fighting the mist as their mission. Its teasing a new champion who will also be a sentinel of light, and needed in the fight against Viego.

The Whispers that Senna is hearing are from the Soul (or a fragment) of the Ruined Queen (AKA Isolde) which is hidden inside Senna. *Not confirmed by Riot games.*
The Mist and the ruination are controlled by the ruined king (AKA Viego) who is looking for his wife.
For unknown reasons at the time of the ruination, the mist appears everywhere across Runeterra In this case it appears in Ionia where Karma is, in Demacia where Poppy the yordle and later Vayne fights it and in Noxus where Darius and Samira face the mist.
*Disclaimer* I obviously am not a pro in the Lore of League I just know the big story if you guys want more answers I recommend going to Necrits channel. Also English is my 2nd language please forgive the mistakes I may have made and feel free to correct me.
For a bit of backstory to the cinematic, the ruined king is, or rather was, well, a king, who was a powerful mage, his queen got sick with some illness, and began dying, it didn't take long until it worsened and she eventually died, however Virgo loved her so much he wanted to save her. He and his men set off to the blessed isles, which is a place in the league universe where many monks lived and protected sacred artifacts. One monk among these was Thresh, who is also one of the champions in the game. He was more on the evil side, this'll be important a bit later on. By the time Virgo and his men arrived at the blessed isles, the queen's corpse had partially decayed, and he threatened the monks to bring her back, however they refused. He ordered his men to slaugher them, but Kalista (another champion) refused. He ordered Hecarim (ANOTHER champion), who was a powerful general atop a horso to kill her, so his whole squad of warriors threw their spears at her chest, which is why she looks the way she does. After this, Hecarim and his warriors began slaughtering them, until one finally agreed, from what I remember it's wasn't Thresh, however he had gone to the vaults where the afromentioned artifacts stored. He opened them and prepared them for use to fight back. During this time, when the monk brought the queen back, she was still a corpse, only now she could talk, and obviously she was in immense pain and suffering. The King was so heartstruck that he began to cast an attack that would wipe out him, the queen and some area around them, but thanks to the artifacts i mentioned the attack became too powerful, and after consuming many artifacts it became corrupt as well. It fused Hecarim together with his horse, made the dying Kalista what she is now, made himself into what he is, however he did manage to kill the queen. This is also how Maokai (another playable character) born, Yorick too. All the monks were corrupted by the mist and it commanded them to take off these little vials that protected them from the mist, while Yorick persisted and didn't listen to them, managing to stay alive. Anyways, this whole story boils down to the fact that the blue orb is the soul of his Queen.

The story behind Viego, The Ruined King is very romantic and sad. In a nutshell There was a young king who fell in love in a seamstress. He was loving her so much but he didn't care about the country, so those ones who really cared wanted to took him down. But king was guarded and queen got hit by a poisoned dagger. He wanted to heal and sent guard for help when his guard returned with knowlage how to heal queen, it was too late queen had died and king was locked in a room with her rotting corpse. When his guard told him about place that she had found. he traveled with corpse of queen and murdered everyone until he would know how to revive her. One of the monks told him about waters of life which resurrected his wife corpses but she became a monster that took his blade and pierced his chest the power of a magic sword and isles amplified started ruination. After that soul of queen has been traveled and finally had fused with Senna.
In that cinematic Viego took essence of Isolde(queen) from Senna and is storing her until he find a way to get her a body.

He was failing his duties because he was putting all his time for his wife (Isolde)
She died, he got depressed
He did everything trying to bring her back
He did but a cost of death and destruction

About this character lore: His name is Viego (you listened it in the first whispering), he is the king of the no name kingdom that very peaceful, but then his wife, Isolde have been assassinate and infected by a very strong curse. Viego try to find the way to cure her, including kill a lot of his people in the process, then he find the island that have the holy water can cure his wife, but only when she alive. Unfortunately, she is dead before reach that island. Viego become angry, kill all the island people to bring his wife's corpse to the holy water lake. But then it turn his wife into a zombie. She just beg for the death, so Viego cast a magic that kill both him and his wife so they can be together forever. But, another unfortunately, the holy water make that magic the million time stronger, curse all the island, and make it become shadow island, and his wife soul be seperater all over the mist( it call The Ruination in the history book). Now he come back, bring the ruination back to find his wife.

The new characters name is Viego, he is a 2nd prince suddenly turned King and due to love ends up destroying an Island called the Blessed Isles and causes his Undeath kind of transformation. His sword is magical in nature and the soul he grabbed from Senna is his wife Isolde. The special effects across different areas are called Ruinations which cause ruin to places (supposedly due to having Sentinals of Light there). Sentinals of Light are a faction that were created to stop the ruinations and the Ruined King, they are the arrow looking symbol in the cinematic.
The symbol at the start and end is the symbol for the sentinel of lights which are people that fight against the ruination (Senna and Lucian are part of the sentinel of lights), Senna had part of the soul of the queen in her since she was young and Viego (the king) is looking for his queen, this is how the ruination/mist found it's way to Senna. The queen ran away from Viego after being revived as a ghost only he doesn't remember bascause when she got revived she stabbed him with his sword and he doesnt remeber anything after the point that she arose from the pool (so he doesnt know she stabbed him and ran away).
Actually the meaning of the symbol showed in the beginning and the end is the *Sentinels of Light*, were the couples Lucian and Senna are part of it. They are fighting against the Mist to prevent Ruination led by the Ruined King, Viego. Viego sucks the soul(which is his wife, Isolde) as he do it in the game as in his 1st skill.
Overall, this cinematic is the beginning of the upcoming game, *Ruined King: League of Legends Story*
The cinematic was not only a trailer for the Champion but also Riots new game: Ruined King: A League of Legends Story
He is Viego, The Ruined King. He lost her queen, and Senna, The Redeemer, she master to absorb souls inside Thresh, The Chain Warden's lantern. She mastered how to deal with souls inside of it. Just my theory, maybe she chose to bring the queen with her because, she knew, that this is going to happen. The cute little fuzzy creature with a Hammer is actually called Yordles, she choses to reside in Demacia, her name is Poppy.
This story of Viego and The Ruination will be a big one covering multiple character releases and events spanning most of Riots games. Its s big story for the world
The new character's name is Viego if you heard in the whispers the last word;
"The mist.."

"..Ruination.."
"..Viego!"
Viego is the Ruined King, in game before(just to give you an idea) there is this item called "Blade of the Ruined King" and it's exactly what he summoned except with violet glow maybe symbolizing that the blade is no longer clutched or held by the mist or smth but it was long rumored that he was dead...or so everyone thought.
Everyone elso thought that Senna(Lucian's wife) was also dead but managed to survive the mist. Why? The blue orb of light that screamed "SEENNAA!!!". That, my friend, is the Queen named 'Isolde'. You see, Isolde, the Queen actually caused the Ruination by accident.
Viego and Isolde's story TLDR: The young King was supposed to get assassinated but was protected, the weapon was poisoned and as one of the King's guards deflected it, it hit the Queen's arm which allegedly caused her death. Grieving, the king sent one of his trusted guards to find the cure so when this guard did find the cure and was away, when she returned, it was too late; the Queen, Isolde had died. So the desperate King tried everything and when he dipped Isolde in the waters of life(as a dead corpse), in shock, she stabbed Viego with the blade of the Ruined King causing the Ruination and corruption of a powerful advanced city that literally fell to ruin. Now Isolde was able to survive the Ruination corruption because she was dipped in the waters of life, everyone who was in or has a relic of the waters of life are not corrupted by the mist. Now since Viego was corrupted, he ONLY remembers that he needs to rescue his Queen and save her. The part when the Queen stabs him, he does not remember.
I swear the actual story is longer than that and I think I've summed up a few lore together to complete Viego's. In game he steals a team mate when he kills them which means all 3 skills he can use but he can't use their ultimate because his ultimate is becoming them.

About your "where is Yasuo?" question:
He went to an island of pirates named Bilgwater with Ahri (probably you know her as kumiho/nine tailed fox girl) and is going to travel to the Shadow Isles (where Viego made all of the ghostly mess and was currently hiding). He also has other companions, Miss Fortune (queen of the pirates), Illaoi (priestess of a sea goddess), Pyke (undead monster hunter and serial killer) and also Braum (big nordic guy with a big shield).

You should definitely check out a few more League of Legends cinematics, I would go watch the Fiddlesticks Champion trailer, “Don’t mess with Yordles”, “A Twist of Fate”, and one of my favorites is “Climb”
Symbol is the Sigil of the Sentinels of Light, which Senna and Lucian are part of. You see it on the outpost tower, on her earings and on the tombstone at the end (it was the tomb of a dead sentinel), and since Senna can talk to souls, she may be able to learn more about a way to defeat the Ruined King (Viego).
Quick explanation:
This King used to have a Queen, when she died he tried everything to get her back from death, he went to the blessing island to accomplish that, but with these bad intentions the blessing island turned into the shadow island, where gave place to return from death all characters like Thresh, Hecarim, Kalista, etc. and he (Viego) died, the Queens soul ended in Senna since she was a child living near those island and since then she protects Senna, but when the King wake up he is blinded to get his Queen back.
The symbol at the end is the grave of Lucian's father, who will be a playable character this year.
8:00 that symbol is actually the symbol of the light sentinels which points this place was previously a base for the night sentinels one lived and btw senna and lucian or one of them are associated with being one of the night sentinel's member

I find it so cool how much of the story Chris can learn from the cinematic techniques. Especially when he doesn’t know any of the characters on screen.
So. I'm not gonna talk about about Viego and The Ruination as other comments already covered this. BUT. After The Ruination happened and The Black Mist from The Shadow Isles (which were previously Blessed Isles but were destroyed by Viego) became a problem - a sacred order was formed to combat The Black Mist.
They were called Sentinels of Light. Both Senna and Lucian that are shown in the begining of the cinematic are members of this order and they're using magical, runic weapons to combat the creatures of The Mist. Normal weapons just aren't enough because cratures of The Mist aren't really alive. The symbol we see on the building and on the stone in the end is the symbol of Sentinels of Light. Lucian and Senna were fighting The Mist for the long time, then Senna was defeated, presumed dead. One of the strongest monsters from The Shadow Isles, Thresh, ripped her soul from her body and imprisoned her in his lantern. Then Lucian somehow managed to rescue his wife and she came back to life. But not alone. Other souls from The Mist also inhabited her body, gave Senna insight into what The Black Mist is up to.
And one of those souls is Isolde, former Viego's lover and ex-queen.
Basically the places hit by The Black Mist in this cinematic weren't random. They were places marked by Sentinels of Light with their symbol. You could say Viego is making a counterattack by hitting the places connected to sworn enemy of The Black Mist.
Veigo (Dude with the giant sword) is the Ruined King. He's after the essence of his queen which Senna has. You were more or less right with the idea of her having two souls inside her, hers and that of the queen.

and when you look at the colour coding, Senna's eyes glow emerald green, I suppose as a reflection of her soul; but the part on her chest that's glowing and the orb itself is blue and through these colours I am assuming it is sort of hinted that it is not actually part of Senna

About the part 12:25 where you said "they are very calm about this" i wanna tell something about their story. Senna was captured and lived in the mist. Lucian fought in the mist to save her. That mist is a big danger for runeterra and they know it will now go away. So they knew it will come eventually. Btw i LOVE your reactions and watching every video 10 times at least! Love the reaction. This is personally one of my favorite league cinematics of all time. I love the reference to ulquiorra (ulquiorra vs vasto lorde Ichigo is one of the best fights in anime) also quick trivia, the two characters in the beginning Lucian and senna are husband and wife and the blue ball is the soul of Viego’s wife who resided inside of senna
To make things simple: Viego is the villain. His wife was killed, and he went mad. Unable to accept her death, he attempted to resurrect her despite being told the magic doesn't work that way. Hurt, afraid, and enraged at being pulled from the peace of the afterlife, her shade kills him with his own sword. This corrupts the magic of the pool he used to attempt her revival, causing a cataclysm known as The Ruination. He is brought back as the near godlike king of the corrupted mist. Her soul is splintered and the bits flee from him. He is attempting to gather them and bring her back. One of those pieces was in Senna.

Digic Pictures did the animation for this. They were also the ones that made the Season 2019 Cinematic and the Senna Cinematic. I guess Riot chose them since Digic already made assets and models of Senna, Lucian, and Karma. So they just need to make models for Darius, Samira, Poppy, Vayne, and Viego. It saved them time and money.
So for his backstory (This is purely off memory so I probably got a few specifics wrong) but
An unspecified amount of time ago (implied to be centuries) he was the king of a very prosperous kingdom. BUT his wife fell ill, nothing could cure her, not medicine, not magic, nothing. So he sends one of his most trusted knights; Kalista, to travel the world to find anything that will help his wife. Kalista eventually finds a distant place called the Blessed Isles and they claim they can cure the queen. The only caviat is, the king cannot under any condition come to the Blessed Isles. Kalista returns with the news, however the queen had died while she was gone. The king was by this point, decending into a grief filled madness. He takes his armies, and his wife's body, and marches on the Blessed Isles. I forget what exactly transpires, but he has Kalista murdered. She wakes up WAYYYY later as a spirit and the Blessed Isles had become the Shadow Isles, where Evelynn and the black mist you see in this cinematic originate. We've known he exists in some capacity for a while but this cinamtic reveals to us that he's actually still searching for his wife's soul, apparently she'd been residing inside Senna(the main woman who he fights)

Just because I've never seen it on here, let's go back in time a tiny bit. Watch "The light is green". It's a halo cinematic and was actually incredibly well shot and well done. And the music that goes with it gave me damn chills.

Have played him, Veigo. His seemingly mind control powers are a little pulled back in the game. There is a fair reason why he was less effective using that control on some characters like the girl called Karma who was fighting alone.
Although he seems to take on Senna and Lucian, League will tell you his play style is more like an assassin, meaning he's much better in one-on-one surprise fights, which I agree with. Fast evasive characters like Samira & Yasuo can be better against him.
Imagine it: he hides in his mist, you know he could be in there but it's his turf. He has a stun + dash ability, which we saw in the cinematic but that is his fight starter, not great for running away or chasing fleeing foes.
I Would highly recommend watching the planetside 2 official trailer its scifi fps mmo with a 2000player cap with a all out 3 faction war. The trailer does a good job showing that
In regards to why Viego doesn't just kill Senna and Lucien, simple he just doesn't care, Viego cares only about getting his wife back everything is irrelevant to him. For Viego killing those 2 would be expending energy getting used to find other pieces of his wife's soul (it's implied that blue orb was just a fragment and not the whole thing).
Dude do more from League, there are good ones like ""A New Dawn", "A Twist of Fate", "You Really Got Me", "Xayax and Rakan: Wild Magic", "Fiddlestick: Terror in Demacia", "Tales of Runtera: Bilgewater", "Warwick: The Wrath of Zaun", "Ryze: Call of Power", "Tales of Runterra: Ionia" and my favourite(Yasuo main): ""Kin of the Stained Blade". The green woman thats in the circle of shadows is called Karma, "Floating blades and longer hair" You're probably Talking about Irelia who's Asian, karma I'm not entirely sure what race she's inspired from but she has a darker skin tone and short hair, Both of these characters also played in the cinematic Awaken so that's probably why you confused the 2!
