I was drinking quite a bit before my wife got cancer. When it came back after the radiation, I stopped because I couldn't chance being drunk if my wife needed me to help her if she needed me. Five years in November.
Big congratulations to you for stepping up!
@@OCDRex11 Now, all booze tastes disgusting to me. Even wine and beers that I used to like. I think God just fixed it inside me so I couldn't. I'm very thankful.
@@ChristianPaulson-Music Well, I am on day 5 today, cold turkey. Probably my 30th time trying to quit. But the reasons this time are black and white and it needs to be done. I have been disgusted by alcohol for years and I just couldn't take it anymore. That and I was up late on the worst hangover I have ever had and just said no more. It tastes like crap, hurts too much, takes my money and robs me of life. I feel that it is different this time. Something is different and I can tell.
I will tell you I was begging God to get me through that night. This was a hangover from the day before mind you!
I have been a Christian for most of my life but lying to myself and I just can't anymore.
@@ChristianPaulson-Music And again, congratulations to you! Sincerely proud of you!
@@OCDRex11 That sounds very strong. You go. Keep going to church.
I am crying Lessing this over and over .because i am straggling .this is my 4th day not drinking i hope no more alcohol .thank you
Stay strong friend!😊
How are you?!
How are you doing? Today I'm on day 13
I love Bradley’s reaction. I think Barbara expects him to say how difficult it was, but he immediately says it was great!
11 years for me this week. Mixture of AA, self help books plus willingness to change mindset. However you do , it it’s way forward. Thanks
Thanks for sharing!!
He's Just Not That Into You, is where I know him for. So glad people are realizing the truth about Alcohol and drugs, and stepping away.
Love that movie. One of my all time favorites.
I made a fair deal with myself concerning alcohol: I'll only drink again if I win a lottery jackpot as a single winner. The odds are extremely low and this is a piece of great news. If the hell exists, alcohol is the hell. There's nothing better than being sober. Shyness is no excuse for drinking alcohol.
This is fantastic, Leon. I want to thank you for what you're doing. You're helping thousands of people through your videos, including myself. I love watching your videos as they just reinforce and remind me of the insanity of alcohol and the wonderful mental, physical and financial benefits of not drinking it! Good on ya!
Sobriety can be hell if your truly an alcoholic. Sobriety isn't the goal it's Sobriety teamed with peace of mind
Quality video as usual leon! So glad i joined the program - when you realise that you arent limiting your life by stopping alcohol, but realise you are un-limiting your life by stopping! Big key ! But yeah i understand now that only MOTIVATED and SUCCESSFUL people WANT to quit. Cant believe how much time i wasted drinking....oh well i cant change time but i can be better !
But anyway i'll let y'all stay sober-curious, and remember to stay hydrated the next day..and i understand i shouldnt be pushy.... but please, by any means, just even try sobirety for a month, it will change your life
Thank you @soberleon . Have been sober for almost 2 years now and I too can confirm life is so much better without this poison. Thank you for this encouraging video to keep at it. Spread the word!
Completely agree, never really a big prob,But way happier now my drinking is down to at most two bottles of beer a week
Im going 29 this september and my plan is also to abstain from alcohol coz i had a similar story with bradley cooper
My younger brother just passed away leaving a fiance. My friend Johnny just passed leaving behind a fiance. Both had an alcohol component in their heart illnesses. Both were younger than me. I quit for good that day and have not another thought of alcohol since. Now smoothies on the other hand. . . .
Amazing!! One way the content was helpful is knowing Bradley journey and how recovery has transformed him to become someone influential. Thank you Leon
With a different style of writing the hangover could actually be a horror film about alcohol
Great observation, its a pity it wasn't made that way.
Who the fuck likes horror?
You should get Bradley Cooper on the channel for an interview!
I quit alcohol so many times I had different sobriety dates in various areas that worked for about a year until the stress was so great I gave up and drank again. Finally 6/23/91 I kept the plug in the jug in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico etc..
Thankfully I am 20 days sober
Stunning content! Thanks Man and best wishes!
I just watched this whole video and still don't know what Bradley did to stop drinking....
Found other ways of coping
The pain of acute pancreatitis stopped me I’ve been nine years sober now greetings from Scotland 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Good man.
Good on you!
All addictions make you believe that you wouldn't be enough without them.
Quit alcohol: 3rd day completed . I quit alcohol to advance in my career and to take care of my health
Nice!
Thank you for the tips very helpfull.
I used drink to help cope with social anxiety , the social anxiety is still there unfortunately when I socialise ..
Me too
My husband drank to make himself more social. He ended up making a damned fool of himself
Celibacy And meditation. You can research nofap. It eliminates social anxiety.
Kratom helps me with anxiety
Have you ever tried intentionally humiliating yourself in social situations to help you get over it? It may sound strange but it done right it can help make later social situations seem like nothing.
Great video Leon
I love hearing about these stories. Alcohol abuse is just another issue Hollywood rather sweep under the rug! I’m 8.5 years., still have issues but not behind the booze.
I have been sober for 2 years now. That was the best decision I ever made. However, I did not need to attend AA meetings. I made a decision to stop drinking and stuck with it, it’s that simple.
Thats great, but your probably not or were not addicted, that is the difference
@@luanajohnson9658 Unfortunately, I was alcoholic. I drank every night until I passed out. I stopped because I was becoming an embarrassment to myself and people who knew me.
@@nothingbutfacts1676 really glad your healthy now. X
If you’re physically affected, you need a medical Dr, not meetings.
thank you for this
I keep watching your shows and I’m really trying it’s hard
These are good videos. Thank you.
Glad you like them!
Please everyone , Take a look at Ringo Starr at the age of 80. He looks, & feels AMAZING :) He stopped Alcohol & drugs around the age of 30. He wrote "THE NO NO SONG" this SHOULD Absolutely be the ANTHEM 4 being Clean & Sober :)
Ringo is amazing indeed. He's a great granddad to boot.
Who wouldn't desire to be resilient and looking new? Certainly, drinking is a great way to unwind and not something which everyone should cut 100% from their lifestyle, but, in Steffon Barkload's homepagw there's an approach that pretty much forces your head to repulse alcohol by simply thinking of it.
But from various sources he is in AA…. not sure why everyone refuses to get in AA. It asks u to take a whole no approach on life and most importantly asks you to stay well by adding a whole new dimension, helping others, which adds a sense of meaning that keeps u sober that other self focused recovery programs don’t do. From what I’ve seen, true alcoholics who have needed to be medically detoxed atleast once I tend to see only get sober through AA. Not saying that’s what people should do, but just putting it out there incase people haven’t been able to stay sober without it.
For anyone that wants a book that may help. " The easy way to stop drinking" -Allen Carr
Non drinking is the way of the future.
Great video
Without AA????
Ummmmm, you may want to listen to the conversation he had with Dax Shepard on the Armchair Expert. Not all "famous people" Bring up the fact they attend meetings. (It is one of the 12 traditions) The reason I say this is they talk about meetings and the general public has access to it.
Thx
So we don't know the how? maybe rename the video? as that year when he was 29 is the year he did it and the 'how' is in there.
Wonder if this method would work with food Leon? I don’t drink ✌️
No. Food isn't poisonous. Stay off the alcohol.
That's it, I'm gonna quit drinking and become a Hollywood star
Cool, A.A works for me
Me too
Me three
Aa “works “ for people who want yo believe in personal higher powers and 1930s American Christian dogma....
Yawnnnnnnnn!.......
Me too.
God work
seen him in AA so.....
AA is annonomus so you have seen him there….grow up selfish loser
where is that accent from?
All celebrities will tell you they quit drinking...sometimes it's propaganda.
what do you mean? bradley cooper be drinking on the low?
Miss the part how he managed to pass the addiction to alcohol.
I’ve read that AA does not have a high success rate
There is high relapse rate in the addict community. It's brutal.
That's because most real addicts do not make the effort to remain sober. It's not hard to quit drinking if you're not an alcoholic. If you want to stop but cannot Alcoholics Anonymous can help.
It's too religious for many and it tells you you are powerless over alcohol. You obviously aren't if you are able to stop drinking.
Big break was The Wedding Crashes
Barbara Walters ... Ha, she has asked people a load of horrible/stupid questions ... that was a 'good' (bad) one ... Good catch ... It went by me. Thank you ... and Bradley.
Bless his❤

You can drink alcohol in moderation and still enjoy life folks.... Everything will kill you if you cant control it. Just a thought...
Once you pop, you can't stop.
1:35. It’s always been “Sex AND the City” now. Mandela Effect
He helped Brad Pitt
He sure can act drunk very well.
Great news! Apparently, women don't have this problem.
This guy is completely incoherent!Sober for 38 years, got on my knees and asked for help and never looked back!
That doesn’t work for everyone
@@Rose-oq2hn Obviously, but at the end of the day its all about willingness and surrender and being brutally honest with one's self.Far too many excuses and yes buts and negotiating partial or temporary surrenders out there,it's a decision to become a responsible adult and to hold the line no more.
Listening to this guy talk instead of the subject Is so annoying
It's all in the head
At least he stopped when he was young.
Actually,, I like your video's. they help! But I'm not the least interested in the so called 'famous' people, with their emty lives.....its a let down for me. Why is it programs always choose for them?
The reason she asked is if quoting alcohol benefited him is, there was no implication that alcohol caused him problems.
His drinking habits were limitless...
Is this a real accent .. ??
It sounds like you're struggling to speak
He’s in it. This is false
Sorry just can’t listen to his accent. Great content tho.
I’m (he’s) or was, drowning and you are describing the water
Great pointless content
Hahaha Living in Unated States I don't understand what you saying. Your voice sounds funny like "Luigie" and you have some accent and some words I don't understand. Parody on English. We have to replace English to American language. Speak American, bustard!!!
Is that your real voice? It sounds weird and unnatural. Just saying. Try speaking normally :)
Geez man can’t you tell that he’s from the UK? Pretty typical American comment right there. Have you ever left your county in Kentucky?
Sober Leon switched addictions ahahahahahahahhaaa! from a booze addict to a famous -people- addictions ADDICT!:)))
Must be hard having pretty privilege and have millions of dollars
I truly believe these celebrities still drink.
