You are right about the ladder. Quite often it is missing a step. Additionally the stainless steel ladder guides can be very slippery.

I was there this past July for a week and went back in November for 2 weeks. Just called my LDS today and said that I want to be in on the trips they have next year again in July and November. Love diving there. Cranked out 48 dives in November.

Keep them coming. I just booked a trip for the spring, and can’t wait to get back there.

Great video! That is a good tip to check the ladder before you put your dive gear on and walk down the ladder. I dove there on September 1st this year and there was a rung missing near the bottom. It was tricky getting out because of the missing rung. It make for a giant step.

My first dive at Oil Slick, I did the cliff, I sunk to the bottom, my tank strap came loose, my mask nearly shot off, and I went into full panic mode as I tried to kick to the surface. The next two times I did it last month I used the ladder and that is how it will always be!
