Things are strange right now. The US dollar is becoming less valuable because of inflation, but it's getting stronger compared to other currencies and things like gold and property. People are turning to the dollar because they think it's safer. I'm worried about my retirement savings of about $420,000 losing value because of high inflation. Where else can we keep our money?

People believe their currency has the worth it does because they have no other option. Even in a hyperinflationary environment, individuals must continue to use their hyperinflationary currency since they likely have minimal access to other currencies or gold/silver coins.
Inflation is gradually going to become part of us and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year. Investing is the only way to make your money grow and unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people will ever have enough money to retire.

I blame the FEDs for this, because in the end they benefit by either buying off the failed banks cheaper or something. The fed can print credit as long as someone will borrow it into existence, but they cannot print product (or production).

Yes, it's true there's no stable alternative. Yet. Everyone from the WEF to China to the US is trying to create online digital currencies. One will win out, and it's likely to be something other than the USD. This won't happen instantly, but it's increasingly likely. A drop from 65% to 60% of the world reserve might not appear to be a lot, but that's substantial and would be much higher if there were any alternative.

One point that wasn't touched was how US a year ago turned all Russia's dollar reserves into dust. The fact that US can, and will do that to serve it's political interests, has affected aforementioned trust, and is probably the whole reason China's currency is even a talking point in the first place.

Having options also has power. If the BRICS+ begin to trade in their own currencies they don't need to rely on the dollar. The Dollar can still remain dominant, for now, but NOT omnipotent as countries will no longer put up with the threat of sanctions (extortion) that the US has been doing for decades. In my view the United States will need to change its global approach and compete or further alienate itself. The BRICS+ provide options not available before and unless the United States starts to function in a multi polar world it's done.

The amount of money US prints today is huge and the reason inflation doesn't affect the US economy is because they export the printed dollars to other countries, who holds it as their reserve currency. The way the world is ditching the US dollar today is something worth looking into. Because then there will be inflation that the US economy cannot handle and resulting in an economic collapse.

A perfect storm is brewing in the United States. Inflation, bank collapse, severe drought in the agricultural belt, recession, food shortages, diesel fuel and heating oil shortages, baby formula shortages, available automobile shortages and prices, the price of living place. It's all coming together and it could lead to a real disaster towards the end of this year (or sooner). With inflation currently at about 6%, my primary concern is how to maximize my savings/retirement fund of about $300k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains.
Government policy has thrown the future under the bus for decades. The day of judgment is near. I predict an 80% drop in the stock market. Investors will abandon stocks in favor of real estate. There will be no money in banks... You must devise a strategy for survival.

I don't know much about the market, but based on what little knowledge I have of economic supply and demand, this is the best time to venture into the market, but the only thing holding me back is the constant fluctuations in prices, which it's not supposed to be a problem, but i really need guidance because i want to use this avenue of everything being on discount to build a portfolio that pays dividends and takes care of me in retirement.

I agree... too much hype and hysteria from the US about the decline of the dollar. And to be honest, if that's what it takes to force them to bring their decades of federal budget deficits (which has led them to $31 Trillion + in debt), to a balanced equation, then even better!
1. USA needs to reject modern monetary theory and stop the spending. Stop the debt ceiling raises, stop the borrowing, stop the inflation. If the national debt isn't going down, it must be considered a national crisis.
2. USA needs to un-chain industry, drastically reduce regulations and corporate taxes.
3. USA needs to abolish the ATF, drastically slash the FBI, Dept of Education, Dept of State, NSA, CIA, IRS.
4. USA needs to put every tax incentive towards domestic production, workforce training, and product export.
5. USA needs to stop spending money on foreign conflicts.
6. USA needs to consolidate its wealth, bring our physical gold and other precious metals home and under lock & key.
7. USA needs to strictly enforce laws against violent crime, hardcore drugs, white collar crime, and healthcare fraud.
8. USA needs to lock down its election systems, by being both entirely transparent and digitally secure/auditable.
9. USA needs to slash the tax burden at all levels: tax on income, tax on purchases, tax on earnings, tax on dividends, tax on sales, tax on usage. It is out of control and enables rampant spending and borrowing.
10. USA needs to stop pandering to the lowest common denominator, the progressive marxists, and those unwilling to work hard to improve themselves, their communities, and the nation.
11. USA needs to lock down the borders, zero tolerance for undocumented/illegal immigration and drug smuggling. Those here must be deported, enter military service, or be put on a "work for citizenship" program.

My only thoughts after reading Gold Wars in 2009 and learning about works reserve currency is to go a different route for thinking ahead 30 years... buying land to transition from City/Suburban lifestyle to Country/Rural Homestead living to not rely on the system for 80% of food, getting out of fiat to a hard asset like gold (historical centuries of proof for preserving purchasing power) to have for after the transition of the next world reserve currency.
This is the only safe haven that I've come to realize is the true best hope for those that want to prepare in some way and not hurt as much as everyone else.
Work on things that you have better chances of control.
We work/slave for what money to pay for rent/mortgage, food, medicine, fuel.
Those alone take most people income before they can even try to save all app that inflation takes away any other savings to eventually what, retire and then rely on multigeneration politician who has the lifestyle of city and making laws and decisions for programs that keep propping up I very bad system for a ton of reasons we're seeing today.

Lovely presentation. One thing, start and end dates of past reserve currencies don't give allowance that there is a transition period. Another thing, the dollar system is based on trust, that is eroding extremely quickly, in the West you don't see it, outside of the West, it's everywhere. Last, the West is very arrogant and has been for decades not realizing their dependence on economies that are fueling it's economy. There will be no "collapse", but the transition is happen much faster than Westerners are willing to accept. Many things such as running up a trillion dollar deficit will not fly in a short 15-20 years.
