- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- Sheffield star Ryan Rhodes talks about his time at the top, from a talented and confident amateur under Brendan Ingle and who raced to the Lonsdale Belt in record time as a young pro.
He fought Otis Grant in an early attempt for a world title and here he discusses his relationships with stablemates including Naseem Hamed, Johnny Nelson, Herol Graham and Junior Witter while talking about the fights that made his career, against the likes of Gary Lockett, Jamie Moore and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.
Now a trainer, who's involved in an exciting new video game project, Rhodes discusses the journey from 'Spice Boy' to 'Old Spice' with colour and humour.

Great interview, Ryan is always thought if in very high regard within Sheffield. Great to see him doing well and involved. Top guy.
Always respected this guys guts and game. enjoyed watching his fights very much, thanks for the great memories.Defo had the tools to get some kind of world title.
Now the British title and commonwealth not regarded at all really look at Conor benn talking about world honors Ryan would of schooled him 7 pounds 🎬
Proper south Yorkshireman is Ryan
Great interview - loved Ryan back in the day , great style and hard as nails !
I recommended ryan to you as a guest a while ago and great to see you followed through. I also gave scott Harrison a shout out...And, have you read Eamon magee's book lost soul? Its a great read. A Crazy life story. These guys have fascinating dramas outside the ring as well as their wars inside it that kept us all entertained.
Read my mind with this one. Fantastic
Fantastic interview.Ryan comes across as a very nice fella.Good work Tris keep them coming
Absolutely brilliant interview. Honest bloke. I was most intrigued about how he handled the jason Matthews loss because that upset really stuck with me after i watched it. He talked about that very humbly.
Boxer career reflections wre fascinating. Especially from before youtube. You barely saw anything of them outside of the actual fights, so yo hear the other side of every thing is eye opening.
My gym wanted to keep charging me when they were closed. While the staff were on furlough and they didn't have to pay to run the facility. They could have been doing great?
Great stuff nice1 VIP boxing (Tris)
Easy Ryan mite not remember me an old m8 Andy of masters later Mr c tattoist Rotherham ends you still got gym would lv to nip in for a chat an cath up bro and if ya don't wanna just say so lol don't anybody ever judge. or make any oppinion about Ryan he is what you see one true fighter a reall man who does exactly what he says I'm doin my own head in na having to say don't ever have thoughts about him he is the man who does
These interviews are brilliant. Why didn’t you get on UA-cam earlier!!
There’s no income from it at present so it costs me to do them. I have to pay a videographer. I’ll do a few more but then will likely go back to audio only.
Was there at British title,,good man Ryan & Glynn..P.X.C
Great listen. I still think Ryan should have stayed longer with Brendan n would have won that world title which he deserved.
Man I remember the spice boy from back in the day. Great times.
I remember Ryan giving me some boxing gloves ,kind person God bless you and your family
Thanks Daniel, it’s means a lot pal

Great watch, got to love Ryan 👌🏼
Remember Ryan Rhodes in the mid 90s blasting them all out .. I don’t think his record will ever be broke with the British title .. some doing that !! Shame he never reached his potential .. had an Indian summer a few years back .. great fighter and all round good guy .. never heard a bad word said about him .. good to see him looking well .. great podcast .. get Naz on .. Andy holligan too or Shea Neary
He sounds exactly like prince nazzem 😆

@@boxinglifestories9546 that’s who he was thinking of, former world champion who worked on bt and now sky
Really enjoyed that. Always good to see a fighter in a good place, healthy, happy with where their life is, and contented with what they accomplished. Ryan's win over Jamie Moore was a great fight.
Top fighter 💪
