“Do this song, do this one.” Brother, go from Sundowning, then This Place Will Become Your Tomb, and finish with Take Me Back to Eden. You will go through so many emotions, and it’s one of the best 3 album runs.
Because he won’t understand the references. It’ll be much more satisfying to hear Euclid after knowing the context. You literally want him to experience it in an inferior way
@@MESHA.Because listening to the whole trilogy in order is important to the references, and the flow of the story. Be weird to watch Infinity War-Endgame, and then go watch Iron Man 1-3, Thor, Avengers etc.
I don't really know if you check these comments often or not but basically yeah Sleep Token is officially just two guys. The band members are known as Vessel (1, the singer) and II (2, the drummer). They're officially the only members of the band in recording, and Vessel does the guitar and all that. Live they have two other members, III (3) and IV (4) on guitar and bass. They also bring in one of the latter two on some songs to do some screaming as backup even though Vessel also screams. They're anonymous and perform in masks and have a whole ass deep lore. Some internet creeps already found our their identities obviously and once even shared one of their birth certificates and house address and stuff. Honestly disgusting lol But they're a really cool rabbit hole. Edit: Redbull Vodka God is kinda annoying hey? 😂
@Sammyii. They aren't called the vesselettes. They are their own group called Espera and they sing with multiple bands/artists as well as their own stuff too. They are great!
The dopest part about these songs is that II the drummer plays all the electronic drum parts on the sticks, switching seamlessly between electronic and acoustic. Has a sampling pad as part of his kit, dude is amazing.
This might be my favorite song... period. No matter how many times I've heard it, I still get chills. The line, "You make me wish I could disappear " I've known that feeling.
Dude. The 3 albums... in a row. Will blow your mind. It's... something to behold for sure we don't get trilogies like this very often. 'Beginning' to the 'End'.. is absolutely brilliant. Cheers!
dude your on the sleep token ark and i'm hyped. I very recently discovered them and now they're my favorite band, so seeing other people find them is really cool.
If you want something very different from Sleep Token compared to the songs you've reacted to so far, I recommend "Aqua Regia" If you want most similar, "The Apparition" Both are amazing. Every song they write is amazing
The more I learn about sleep token the more I like it. Thank you for your genuine reaction and the attention to special parts for you. Appreciate that man!👊🏼
This song is in so much danger of being the only fail on the album, as a whole song, but then it doesn't. Vessel and II are writing partners, I have good reason to suspect that III (original touring member) and the most recent iteration of IV both contributed to recording on this album. That's more in line with how the band is moving ethically, post pandemic.
You need to check out the Drumeo youtube page because the drummer II does an interview and plays a bunch of their best songs live and you can see how great he is. I think you'd really appreciate it
I usually describe them to people as progressive metal. Progressive metal is metal with a lot of complex rhythms, meter changes, etc. Experimenting with other genres is quite common as well. Lyrics typically have multiple layers and/or are about unusual topics and every band has at least some of their own "lore" in their lyricism. Like you've said, it's like "three songs in one song" or "a musical". Sleep Token however takes things a bit further with the genre experimentation than most prog metal bands, i.e. adding rap is very uncommon. I personally love that they and some others have started combining prog metal and rap, because I think those go so well together! Since their music is still metal (?) but doesn't fit neatly into any existing metal subgenre, including progressive metal, that means they're alternative metal.
They have 4 members, Vessel 1 and Vessel 2 are the primary songwriters and players. 3 and 4 are the guitarist and bassist, and were in the band later. They are amazing, and pour Vessel is a tortured soul.
just so you all know the easter egg in that, the last drop is a shout to take me back to eden before its actually arrived on the album! I think...? lol
If you’re not interested in lore, listen to songs in random order. But this band deep dives into lore and call backs since the beginning. highly, HIGHLY recommend listening in order. Such an amazing band 🖤🖤 they don’t have a single bad song. Period.
Ive hopped all over then plan to go start to finish- got introed in the middle of the Take Me Back to Eden album. I learned of the lore in the middle of the rando binge 😂
When people say start from sundowning, they’re not clarifying every bit of it. Some is missing. It is the first album, but I’d recommend you to start from the first EP- One.
I recommend listening to some of the earlier Albums in their enitireries either in one go with breaks or seperstely but the music before tmbte is also superb!
If you ever think about genres and sleep token, the singer/main creator said this years ago: “Life is dark. Life is bright. Life is ugly. Life is beautiful. Don’t get lost in genres, they’ll only disorientate you. Music is for everyone.”
What makes this even better for me is that beat in the rap part is not backing track. II plays it on pads. And the 3 times I've seen em live it was perfect. Vessel is the material yes but II is the glue 4 sure.
If you really want to experience the whole breadth of what ST are able to do, check out songs like "Dark Signs", "Sugar", "High Water", "Fall For Me", "Aqua Regia", "Granite" or "Jaws" (an old one). I agree with the people who say that going through their catalogue (at least the albums) chronologically is an incredible journey, not least because there's a lot of musical and lyrical cross-references. I'm just not sure you're willing to make that time commitment, at least on your channel.
this is my first reaction video from you that I have seen. If you are interested in Sleep Token, being someone who came in when The Summoning was big, regretted not hearing the other albums and EP's before that. EP One, EP Two, Sundowning, This Place Will Become Your Tomb and then Take Me Back To Eden are the order of the albums with a handful of singles and covers. Just as a service to you, to experience this the best way possible, please stop here on TMBTE and go back to their early work and start from the beginning. TRUST ME!! it makes it so much better when you get to the end of Take Me Back To Eden's Euclid. If you don't want to listen to all of it before you do Euclid then at least listen to the first song on Sundowning The Night Does Not Belong To God
Sleep Token are the best band I have ever come across and the recent album is definitely my AOTY! You should go down the rabbit hole now. They’re genre bending and use elements of everything from rock, metal, RnB, trap, hip hop, gospel, and more. Even if you don’t like one song don’t write them off as every song is different and as you can see from this one they switch up completely through the songs, also don’t be thrown off by some of them being 7-8 minutes long either as it goes by far too quickly. You should start at the beginning and work your way through as they tell a story and have call backs to a lot of them. The band are anonymous, I and others know who they are but won’t reveal out of respect to the band and fans but the singer goes by the moniker Vessel, drummer, who is a beast is II, bassist III and guitarist IV. From London UK. As far as their discography goes they brought out two EPs called One and Two, then 2 singles called Jaws and The Way That You Were, then the three albums Sundowning, The Place Will Become Your Tomb, then TMBTE (Take Me Back To Eden). They’ve done five covers that I’m aware of. One being Hey Ya by OutKast, I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston, Is It Really You? By Loathe and When The Party’s Over by Billie Eilish, Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. His Vocal range I believe is B ♭2 to F#5 and he has a wonderful chest voice, head voice and scream. I have never hyper fixated on a band like I have with these! Loved the react and hopefully see many more. 🖤 The trilogy = Seduction. Destruction. Liberation.
Sleep Token has four musicians/singers. The lead singer, Vessel plays piano/keyboards/guitars - Vessel II is the phenomenal drummer. These two guys are the main writers. The bass guitarist is hilarious and the lead guitarist sings some of the distorted vocals
“Do this song, do this one.” Brother, go from Sundowning, then This Place Will Become Your Tomb, and finish with Take Me Back to Eden. You will go through so many emotions, and it’s one of the best 3 album runs.
Better yet, start with EP One
It's like a book.. it's all intertwined.. a trilogy if you will. A mind blowing work of art.
Ignore these people saying “check out rain next”. Trust me, go the very beginning and work your way up to the end of Eden. It will change your life
Hes already in their most recent album why not just finish it before starting from the bottom ?
Because he won’t understand the references. It’ll be much more satisfying to hear Euclid after knowing the context. You literally want him to experience it in an inferior way
@@MESHA.Because listening to the whole trilogy in order is important to the references, and the flow of the story. Be weird to watch Infinity War-Endgame, and then go watch Iron Man 1-3, Thor, Avengers etc.
Go back to the beginning for sure
It's the only way
So happy that you found Sleep Token my man. You are in for such a ride!
I don't really know if you check these comments often or not but basically yeah Sleep Token is officially just two guys. The band members are known as Vessel (1, the singer) and II (2, the drummer). Edit: Redbull Vodka God is kinda annoying hey? 😂
Don't forget the Vesselettes! Those ladies that do background singing live
@@Sammyii. Oh yeah 😂 They absolutely kill it
The back up singers absolutely crush live. They are so underrated and really tie lyrics that overlap together
@Sammyii. They aren't called the vesselettes. They are their own group called Espera and they sing with multiple bands/artists as well as their own stuff too. They are great!
@@jordanmartin7256 I wonder where Gemma is that used to sing with Vessel years ago. She has a beautiful voice
Same 😊
Dude. The 3 albums... in a row. Will blow your mind. It's... something to behold for sure we don't get trilogies like this very often. 'Beginning' to the 'End'.. is absolutely brilliant. Cheers!
Vessel: the night does not belong to god
Everybody: preach!
Vessel: hold on a damn minute and I’ll tell you who the night does belong to.
This song……. Everything. It’s about wanting to leave this earth to escape the pain and hurt = eternal ascension…….. heartbreaking 💔
Songs that are in the sleep token must listens.... Granite, The Offering, When the Bough Breaks
dude your on the sleep token ark and i'm hyped. I very recently discovered them and now they're my favorite band, so seeing other people find them is really cool.
Telomeres is a must.
It's like that one last hopeful song in the second album, before it all spirals down to Euclid.
Favorite ST song right there
hell yeah, I think Telomeres is the most underrated song they have. I get insane Sextape by Deftones vibes from it
The song Higher is also a perfect metaphor for a toxic relationship.
You would lose your sh!t listening to Dark Signs!! It’s so good
I've never been soo early to one of these 😂 this one, The Apparition are two of the best journeys on the album.
If you want something very different from Sleep Token compared to the songs you've reacted to so far, I recommend "Aqua Regia"
If you want most similar, "The Apparition"
Both are amazing. Every song they write is amazing
Excited for this journey... love how you and @Black Pegasus break down and describe music...
My Redemption eternal ascension is forever on my forearm. this one hit like no other
I highly recommend Granite. They stay a bit more in a pocket so you can vibe all the way through.
I'm stoked that those lyrics are correct 😂
One of my favorite ST songs
Their entire discography is one story starting at ep one ending with Euclid
Im really loving this Sleep Token Journey we are on here! Theyre really F'n good!
Sad Ballad+R&B Baby making music=Metal
I like that you said it was like a play. Sleep Token isn't just a band or the brainchild of an artsit, it's modern performance art.
Papa be like: 🗿 the whole time
I can’t get over how BP got to this before you did! Months ago. It’s beautiful. He watched the video though. Much love brotha! Loving all this!
The Apparition
So excited to watch your journey through this!
The more I learn about sleep token the more I like it. Thank you for your genuine reaction and the attention to special parts for you. Appreciate that man!👊🏼
Still saying catch Sleep Token Hallelujah live. It's amazing!
You gotta check out Sleep Token song called “Rain” next
Yes, this should be next one.
My absolute favorite song 🖤
Why nit just go with Atlantic if you want to make him cry?
This song literally changed me.
So this is my favorite Sleep Token song and probably in my top 5 of all time favs
Every damn time man! The emotions that pour out of these songs never ever get old and always just smacks you in the face. I love this band!
Yes you did another one! Keep it going. Do The Apparition
Eyy loving that you are getting into this band
So glad you were able to experience this song
This song is in so much danger of being the only fail on the album, as a whole song, but then it doesn't. Those videos are awesome. It gave me a new appreciation for drummers watching them perform.
It made so much sense when he called his drumming his “voice, his vocabulary”, such a great interview
God damn love this sleep token journey you taking us on ❤
I usually describe them to people as progressive metal.

Again; the apparition is a must!

just so you all know the easter egg in that, the last drop is a shout to take me back to eden before its actually arrived on the album! I think...? lol
He plays that trap beat on a pad attached to his drum set pretty sick..
it's not only this song that is a metaphor for a toxic relationship, it's the entire lore behind the band and their entire discography.
Forget genre, its just beautiful. It makes you feel. I think evocative is the word.
If you’re not interested in lore, listen to songs in random order. But this band deep dives into lore and call backs since the beginning. highly, HIGHLY recommend listening in order. Such an amazing band 🖤🖤 they don’t have a single bad song. Period.

Please, please listen to Give, Rain and Mine... softer songs but a must. Thank you
This is easily my favorite song of all time, taking the mantle from Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble’s Voodoo Child live in Montreux.
Worship.
First time I heard it I had a breakdown. Lol. Love this band!
I recommend listening to some of the earlier Albums in their enitireries either in one go with breaks or seperstely but the music before tmbte is also superb!
If a song was my heart my soul THIS
4 members. But singer writes and produces everything
If you ever think about genres and sleep token, the singer/main creator said this years ago: “Life is dark. Life is bright. Life is ugly. Life is beautiful. Don’t get lost in genres, they’ll only disorientate you. Music is for everyone.”

You're gonna love Alkaline
I think once you cover the Drumeo interview with II more of the music will make sense
You should watch the drummer II do his drums. He does all the track synths like Danny Carry
The piano is reminecient of moonlight sonata if my memory serves me right and i listen to them to calm myself down like your reactions so far
You on the ride bruh
This is my absolute favorite ST song, is so much better live too with Espera harmonizing and Vessels singing of some parts
Gotta do more sleep token

Mmm such a good one...like the pace nice to vibe to have on play...like alot
Happy day! Worship ❤
Granite and DYWTYLM are my current top, only because of personal reasons, and Blood Sport
YES
Buddy, you should check out Euclid. Even if you aren’t aware of the storyline, as a song, you will like it as it is.
Thank Yoooooou ♥
I need a reaction Euclid next please!
I was hoping you would get around to this one \m/

Euclid!
Listen to Chokehold. I know you daid you heard Will’s cover, but it doesn’t compare to Sleep Token’s.
Eddie berg one day - heaven shall burn. From the band imminence
🔥🔥🔥🔥
With such a great mic you have, get some WD40 on that chair of yours. 😆
Love the review btw!!

They did a cover of OutKast’s Hey Ya. You should check it out
Do their songs "rain" and "atlantic" please. :)
I seen someone put Two Feet! You need to check them out my guy!
THIS

You gotta check out vore at some point

Yo react desh young fly azariah bakpakk
No, I don't do them anymore since the supermanagement issue.
❤️💋
crook84 in his chat. they treat the vocals for a production reason, NOT BECAUSE HE CANT SING. GET OVER YOURSELF
His voice, how anyone could hurt this beautiful man is beyond me.
I would be happy to just do his washing 😍🥰😌
WORSHIP ❤
