These animals can become (almost) indestructible

Cryptobiosis is arguably one of the coolest adaptations in the animal kingdom, and evolved multiple times! In tardigrades (aka water bears), rotifers, nematodes, and more. Today we'll be exploring this ability and talking about some of the most extreme examples of cryptobiosis that we know of.

My high school zoology teacher went to Antarctica to study cryptobiosis in tardigrades about halfway through the school year, and he would video call us from the research station sometimes. He really inspired me to love learning.
