We finally got to see them at least clash and how they got along.
How reluctant Whitebeard was to let go of Oden.
It answered questions.
And it visually showd us things that had only been mentioned.

Given the new information, assuming Gol D. Roger had just started his pirate crew towards the end of the Rumbar pirates,
Roger would be 25-28 years old when he and Rayleigh started to make a name for themselves (~52-49 years ago)
We now know that Roger reached Lodestar 39 years ago. Coincidentally the same year Oden beat Ashura Doji and became Daimyo of Kuri as well as three gods being born; Shanks, Buggy, and Eneru (Enel).
The next year is when God Valley happens and the Rocks Crew falls.
Most importantly this means it took Roger ~10-13 years to reach the end of the Grand Line (Lodestar) and another 14 years to reach Laugh Tale. In total Roger spent ~24-27 years sailing while as Tekking said, Luffy and his crew have only sailed for a year at most not including the time skip and about 3 years including it. This journey that we have been following for 20+ years is the equivalent to 4%-12% of Roger's life as a pirate.
This is concrete proof that One Piece is only 10% of the way done and therefore must be in publication for ~180 more years.

Just saying it only took Luffy and crew close to 1 year and some training to go from Don Krieg to Admiral level and Roger's crew who has essentially the same enthusiasm for fighting took 10+ years to get that strong is absurd

That's one way to bring up the fact that she held the pregnancy until it was either give birth or die with Ace still in her womb (and still dies giving birth). Honestly, as much of a badass Roger is... I don't think he could do anything that can compare to Rouge *delaying her own son's birth by 11 full months to protect him*
Buggy n Shanks as kids and watching them interact is amazing. Buggy is way better as a child than as an adult

Lavicrep Ris Here’s why I think he knows about the one piece or what it is. In the oden flashback we see a young shanks and buggy who were about 9 years of age at that time. And from the flashback where buggy was seen eating the devil fruit, he was about 12 and shanks was with him then too.
Although when he was 9, we found out that roger had only one year to live. Meaning he got to Raftel and uncovered the one piece. And I’m pretty sure shanks and buggy would’ve been a part of the crew back then cause then the devil fruit flashback makes no sense.

Here’s the facts people: Luffy has gone to war over Dressrosa, it’s where his fleet was formed, and the world knows both these things, so it’s not an impossible leap of logic to think that if the Riku family or Tontatta Pirates asked for help the Strawhat Grand Fleet would drop everything to smack down whoever’s causing trouble for their friends (we know they would, but that’s because we know the captains of the fleet personally, the world is just assuming this). So, it is safe to consider Dressrosa Strawhat territory.
I really don’t like it when people call him ‘Fake News Morgans’. Yeah, there’s no question that he exaggerates and embellishes stories almost beyond belief, but that’s all he does. As far as I can tell, he doesn’t lie about what he puts in his papers.
Oden have the qualities/character quirks or the monster trio
Luffy - always charging ahead without plans , loves adventure
Zoro - lacks navigation skills
Sanji - hears a woman's distress call
Jimbei - Wears a Kimono
Robin - interested in mysteries of the past.
Franky - he really likes to be as little dressed as he can

I’m wondering if there were the same words that he may have told shanks when shanks told Rayleigh luffy said “the same words that the captain did”

David Cohen viz is only the manga publisher though, they couldn’t hire tekking to do a dub. Funimation has the exclusive rights to creating the dub of the anime as far as I know

Also I'm sure Funimation isn't the only American license company because there was Sentai Filmworks. You do realize I was joking about Tekking101 being a voice actor because some of his videos showcase him making funny voices, imitations, and impersonations. Sadly that is so I mean Funimation wasn't great nor worse. I mean it's better than 4Kids dub; however, after the Vic Mignogna situation has been going on I lost all respect for the voice actors like Monica Rial, Chris Sabat, Sean Schemmel, Jamie Marchie who betrayed Vic and ruined his career and hopefully the company goes out of business. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm not saying every voice actor was against Vic but some should probably get fired because of the damage ruined Vic's career.

Roger still could have said ‘And then I’ll be... King of the Pirates!’ But Oden and Whitebeard reacted that way because something like that had never been said before. Think about it. If he did say King of the Pirates, he was probably the first person to ever say that. Who would ever think to be king of the pirates? Pirates could never have a king. How could you be king of the pirates when every pirate crew is just for themselves? No one probably ever thought of such a thing, and so to Oden and Whitebeard, it was really weird.
Maybe what Roger understood from one of the poneglyphs was that whoever reaches Raftel, Laugh Tale, will become King. Roger takes this as King of the Pirates, but maybe it really means, THE King. Like Im sama. Whoever learns all this knowledge, reaches this island, and comes back, has the potential to rule the entire world.
Still, he might not have said King of the Pirates. He could have said anything.
Though, maybe he said ‘and then I’ll be.... FREE!’ Meaning like this is his mission in life, and once he completes it he will truly be free, and be the free-est man in the world.
Or maybe he understood from a poneglyph that whoever reaches Laugh Tale and learns the true history of the world will become free. Free from the World Government, and free from the false narrative they have put on, and the false reality they impose.
Or he could have said, ‘and then I’ll be....DEAD!’ I could see Oda writing something like that. If Luffy knew he was going to die I think he would say something similar. And Whitebeard and Oden would be confused by someone being so matter of fact about them dying, and that only after they reach this island can they die
Whatever it is Luffy's dream before he exchange cups of brotherhood with Sabo n Ace was phrased the exact same way,"I will be...." then it cuts off to Ace n Sabo shocked
I think Roger said King of the pirates out loud. It's a childish dream, that's why WB and Oden cringed over the idea. Nobody ever dared to say that out loud, and the boy from the east blue said the same thing to Shanks. Shanks meet Rayleigh and tell him about it.

The off screened words of roger in this chapter is so suspicious, I believe the pirates king title was not a thing back then, the WG gave the title to Roger after he reached raftel, I don't think his goal was to be the king of the pirates, maybe his goal has something to do with the One piece itself I guess

I like how during the last few chapters Oden was portrayed as an extremely charismatic individual. But in this chapter even He is in awe of Roger. Thats just wonderful! Oda is a master of reaviling things, without revealing things, like how he showed us how strong Roger might be by showing us his first mate back in sabaody. Now he uses the same technique, but the aim is to show charscter and a larger than life personality. Fucking brilliant, a great way for one piece to end the decade!

Im wondering if he is sharing the body with 1 or 2 other people each which can have a devil fruit. One can sleep while the other is controlling the body. Also might be why he has a 3 headed beast as his jolly roger if their is 3 of them in 1 body. Which means he can probably get 1 more devil fruit in there maybe kaidos dragon if he wants the top tier zoan. Here's my theory regarding Blackbeard and his ability to have multiple Devil Fruit powers.
This theory is a mix of canon/fan theory.
We were told back in Enies Lobby that if you eat two Devil Fruits, you'll explode. However, it was never stated that you would explode if you have two Devil Fruit POWERS.
We also see that in Whole Cake Island that Devil Fruit Powers can transfer directly from one container to another, i.e from Mother Caramel to Charlotte Linlin.
How does this all relate to Blackbeard, you may ask?
There's a fan theory stating that the Yami Yami no Mi's true power cant be used unless the user is in complete darkness.
I propose that Blackbeard knew about how this process worked, well before the Marineford War. All he needed was the right opportunity to enact his plan.
Here is where this fan theory begins to have some credence.
The ONLY time we see Blackbeard shrouded in complete darkness in when his crew throws the pitch black tarp over he and Whitebeard after Whitebeard dies.
While under the tarp, Blackbeard uses the Yami Yami no Mi to turn himself into the pure darkness surrounding Whitebeard. When the Gura Gura no Mi's essence attempted to travel to another vessel, it became trapped within Blackbeard's darkness and by extension Blackbeard himself, thus allowing Blackbeard to store the essence within his darkness instead of within his body while still granting him the powers associated with it.
Blackbeard could effectively stash a countless number of Devil Fruit essences within his darkness and never feel any negative drawbacks of doing so.
I also propose he could also use this method to bestow multiple Devil Fruit powers to members of his crew that already have Devil Fruits and bypass the whole 'exploding from eating two fruits' drawback.

I like the Sanji v Luffy parallel. Oden is capable of causing damage, but has no chance in a serious fight.

Rogers dream seems oddly similar to the flashback with Luffy, Ace, and sabo say their dreams. Sabo and Ace’s dream is said out loud, but Luffy’s dream is cut like Rogers. Sabo and Ace laugh, Sabo even say it would be interesting to find out. This might also explain what Shanks said to Reliegh. Shanks is like I found some one (Luffy) that says the same thing as Captain Roger... I think Oda intentionally left it blank.

Roger wouldn't call himself king of the pirates, Rayleigh said he never cared for titles. Also, that pause and the stunned reactions after, with us not getting to hear it; that's exactly the same situation with Luffy when he said "I"m gonna be (something)!" to Ace and Sabo.

After the most strongest clash so far in One Piece i still can't stop thinking how strong Garp and D. Xebec were. I don't know who was (if even been) the strongest swordsman in the world before Mihawk but Roger fits great. Casually one-handed Oden, this man is unbelievable.

This chapter makes me certain that there must have been some kind of stigma around devil fruits in roger’s crew. Roger himself only used a sword and haki, like the two members of his crew that we’ve seen the most of (shanks and Rayleigh). The only notable exception is buggy but if you remember his backstory, he didn’t do so willingly.
If whitebeard wanted he could have took oden with him and could have become pirate king

You literally forgot one of the most important part of the chapter. The part where roger literally acts like luffy aka just running past rayleigh and scoper because he wants to be the one to fight oden. HE LITERALLY ACTED LIKE LUFFY
I’m not going to lie. I was in the camp that Roger didn’t have any abilities or things and he was just a very charismatic dude... you know I’m ok with him being a pirate god now🤷🏿♂️

its pretty clear at this point, his jolly roger is three skulls, so he is probanly three dferent persons sharing the same body, also Zoro and Luffy noticed that the very first time they met BB they said "them" refering to BB its pretty clear i think.

Honestly I hope so. Blackbeards personality was much better imo back at Mocktown. I really dislike coward Blackbeard who begged for his life in front of Whitebeard. The way I see it this guy is the negative Luffy. Luffy would never coward in front of a stronger opponent.
I absolutely hate when people use Zoro and Luffy referring to BB as “them” as evidence to this theory. Why on Earth would they know that at a glance? Especially Luffy aka one of the most dense characters in the series.

Hey this chapter is what may show Teach's true purpose he was there before Roger became king of the pirates so what ever Roger said out loud that we couldn't hear is the true purpose of Kurohige and that's when he starts planning to take Rogers place and maybe in the future shanks would find out and try to stop him but gets his scar .. just thinking like this gets me more pumped up about Kurohige

Finally we see what Roger can do! Scopper is with Rayleigh and Roger in the previous generation of the monster trio. How did the pirates get up to the bell above the giant jack and didn’t ring it? Hope we see the final island the log pose leads to and how do you get to the beginig after the end?
We won't see any of it. If we did it would not have the same ill impact when Luffy gets there. At most we may see how he got the 4 road ones and Odens teaction to Gols death

I hate that we are flashbacking... it’s so boring. It has nothing to do with the main story. One piece has hardly any flashbacks. It’s ok when it’s for living characters. But this is flash back being told by and about three dead guys.
This makes akainu and Blackbeard on a whole other level in terms of durability considering they took seriously deadly hits from whitebeard (doesn’t matter that he was old)
Ace also said that blackbeard lives double a mans life when they met at the island.
That seems to support the chimera theory .

Viz has a habit of taking a long string of japanese dialogue and only translating part of it, or oversimplifying lines that Oda chooses with great care, because Viz does not have the passion for the story that fans do.
Out of curiosity, what other translation websites would you prepose Tekking (and via extension, all other English speaking One Piece fans) use? What other alternative sites are available in order to keep the reviews coming on Fridays?

I have a theory: It is possible that Oden doesn't return to Wano to drop Neko, Inu and his family, maybe he drops them at ZOU. They have to go there since one of the road poneglyph is there and knowing what some of those poneglyph say he decides to protect his family and leave them at the minks care.
It is a possibility, that is just what I am saying.

@@joaquingomez271 Yes, they were in Wano but 20 years before the current story line. In this flashback it is 26 years before the story line.
Besides we know that Oden was on Roger's ship 25 years ago because of an other flashback but we didn't see anyone else (nor Neko, Inu or Toki). Also Inu and Neko said they didn't went to Laugh Tale and the journey there finished 25 years before the current story line.
