Big Hawaiian Fish Caught While Spearfishing!

- Today we catch a big Awaawa which is a Hawaiian Ladyfish while spearfishing out of Ko Olina on the westside of Oahu here in Hawaii.
We also catch fresh octopus for bait which we later use to fish for some GT or Ulua as we like to call it in Hawaii for a fishing tournament!!!
I also show you guys how to clean the fish that we caught as I prepare them for the freezer ahead of a future party!

We grunt with ducks and deer. Neat to see it bringing in fish closer. I am from Louisiana. We trap and most everything, protein sourcce. Teach me grasshoper, teach me. I like to make nets, hoop nets, gill nets. The alluvial flood plain is a hell of a place. You will get tired cleaning fish, so we teach our kids.

Spearfishing seems pretty cool and it's something I definitely want to get into in the future what would you recommend me doing and is there any classes or certifications you would need to safely spearfish and how should a beginner go about getting into the sport
If you wanna be good really fast, I would highly recommend taking a PADI dive class. Kurt Chambers is really good. Otherwise, you just have to buy some decent gear and get out there. I've also got a ton educational videos, and you can also shoot me a dm for anything you have questions on!!

Kumu is the white saddle goat fish. Last one I shot was about 4lbs. Biggest Iv ever seen.
My favorite fish to eat!!! 4lbs is a dozer!

yup, always better to clean at the beach.
And also, the kole scales clog up the sink. They sometimes go thru the strainer and pile up in the drain. It happen to me twice where I had to take apart my drain cause Kole scales. Lol great vid.
