for those that don't know ....J.R. donated a lot of money and her own time to help the needy . she did this privately .
She said it one time that she always supported some relatives, and if someone worked for her she would send their kids to private schools.

Joan worked so hard and she gave so much in return to charity. She is missed.
You have to be extremely wealthy and rich to easily afford an apartment like that, but that's almost how you're forced to invest to get all the tax loopholes.

The apartment is exquisite, however ruffles, orange, all that awful pink, awful drapes, awful bay window seat and it would not look like Miss Piggy decorated her apartment. It has a lot of beautiful personal taste, but personal taste does not sell well.

Joan and her family actually donate some of the money. The daughter said she will donate some of the money from the auction and then make a trust fund for her son. Rich people don't need to donate 80% of their money the least little bit still helps even if its 100k instead od 1 million.
Joan Rivers was actually one f the most charitable celebrities. She dedicated alot of her time and money to her charity she set up to help HIV/AIDS patients :)

Rowling lost her billionaire status because of how much she donted to chaity, joan, beyonce, nicki and the list goes on and on donate huge amounts. donating to charity isn't about telling everybody you did it and how much you gave away, it''s not a competition to see who has the most money to spare. it's about giving to the ones who need it more than you. that doesn't mean you should throw all your money away, just a partion of a well established celebrity does wonders for all the projects to help the ones in need, they still have to secure their family, not just their current family, but the next generations.
