Really cool stuff! I'm going to be diving right into the deep end of this type of stuff in March. Not only am I doing my first time trial, but it's a 24-hour time trial that will also be my first 24-hour ride attempt. Never even ridden a TT bike before, but have most of one in parts boxes in the basement, waiting on the last few items to show up to begin the build. I'll have to act quick once it's built to get a my position set and a helmet ordered to complement the position. Wish me luck! After this one in March, we going full crazy and spending a ton of time on this bike all summer in prep for the 24-hour World Time Trial Championships in November.
Yeah Trevor. What BTA setup? I’m taller like guys on the same bike. Saw Big Metz at the rained out IMCA, Trevor we cheered you on in Milwaukee. All the crazy TriDot folks.
I loved this one. Not bad progress either. I specifically like that you pointed out shoving the bottle down their kit isn’t advantageous to everyone. Excited to see y’all race this year! Ps I love the move to AZ ❤
At 11:31, Jim killed all of that noise😂. As a matter of fact, I dont know if he has one or not already, but if not, I think a great video for you to do would be to have him break down his expert opinion of all of the TT aero watt savings that these bike product people are putting in our face daily, And see what he has to say about whether or not they are going to actually do anything on the bike or not, or how much, because he is not bias. Some things aero, yes, but not as much as they claim, perhaps.
It's interesting that the bottle down the front was worse. That is the second time I have heard that. Guess I won't be trying that. Thanks for the information. Good Stuff
Why that brand of tire? My understanding is the Continental GP 5000 the fastest and one of the best for flat resistance around. (Not really telling you anything you don't already know). Just wondering the thoughts on the tire choice, especially with all the flats....
I like the GP 5000. Have used them a lot. These are old race Schwlebes PRO TT's so they don't have particularly good puncture resistance. ultimately there was an issue with the valve core on that 7.8 front wheel so I was able to fix that and use the 7.8 on day 2 for testing
Like all of this stuff, super individual. From what I understand with sleeves, having them be as long as possible for your lower leg length is going to be quicker
Im just saying....2022 was my first 70.3 in Oregon....you won....I'll be there 2024....we shooting to make it a double?! haha. Great video BTW! @@bigjmetz11
I follow Jim’s Fast Or Fiction UA-cam channel, great info there, hope he starts posting again soon. Love some aero content, glad you found some gains!
The Jeanie Thumbs up needs to be a meme! Great content. Glad you guys are back at it.
Great stuff. I'm sure all this testing will help tremendously. Keep it up.

woah that's a lot! best of luck!
No shoutout for the BTA, I’m gutted

shoutout the plug Tfoley
I-10 frontage road with epic Picacho Peak in the BG. Good info.
you know the vibes!

thanks for watching!
Nice work Justin
interesting info about the enve wheels
Can't recommend enough getting an activity mount/hitch installed at Uhaul so you can put a proper bike rack on the back of your car.
yeah we will do that on our next car for sure. this is a lease

Enjoyed the video
I love Millie❤
she is the best
Kudos for sharing all the info!! Great stuff 🚀 Metzler's stocks on the rise 🤘🏽
thanks bro!!
Great work🦍
Cool video. Looking sleek on that bike.

its all dependent on you! it might not be ideal for his physiology but might benefit yours
Its faster for a LOT of people. Bad idea to throw it out
i don't know if a cda of 0.228 is competitive in triathlon, but in TT you are not except you are a beast
43 watts.... mate you are going to be a weapon! hope you beat many of the canyon endorsed riders and get under their bankroll athletes :)
thanks for watching!!! that would be a dream sponsor for sure
Not sure if I follow. 228 means CDA of 0.228? If yes, I thought for TT bike, a good CDA usually would be below 0.2?

Interesting 🤔 how much the compression socks effects aero.
i have a speedmax, and i don’t recognize the aerobars here. are those different bars and arm cups or is it just different arm cups?
Just different arm cups- these are the TriRig Scoops SL. The extension is stock Canyon
Pretty wild how crap your old set up had to be to save 43 watts in the end
what is going on Justin - where are you? When you race again.
Thoughts on socks vs calf sleeves? No change ya think?

Great video! Best wishes for a strong season! Will you be racing Eagleman 70.3 this year?
maybe! i don't know my schedule 100% yet
Can you put numbers on screen next time
Oregon this year?
perhaps! i don't know my race schedule 100% yet

EPO Sports W.
I'd have saddle sores all over my groin if I rode with that high of a knee angle, oof that looks painful.
When you push 300watts it take off a lot of weight off of the saddle.
lol I have no problems
Size of crankset?
those are 172.5 on the speedmax
it's a 175
