maybe it was part of the training.
"to understand the value of castling, you are not allowed to castle in this game"
By the way, I don't understand half of the moves why they were made by both white and black, but the finishing combo was beautiful, hanging on the thread of getting checkmate and still finishing him off.
This is how I like to win even against stronger opponents, letting them think they lead the attack and I am just defending, but subtly developing my position... Although I have to admit, I don't win often like that, but when I do, it brings all the satisfaction.

Well, it's probably because this is nearly 200 year old chess that it might not all make sense. Might be old theories that were refuted later on. Even Agadmator comments on that at 3:03 how "those were the moves in old times".

I really likes the idea of Andersen let his queen got capturedas he plan ahead of checkmate. Most of us really scared when we lost our queen. He laid out his plan and move gracefully. What a brilliant player

On the bleeding edge, when you make a series of moves which force your opponent to not make their checkmating move. Bold! I am sure unlike weak players like myself, he had 100% confidence in not getting mated. But if he had miscalculated, it was all over.

It's so amazing to me how these brilliant chess players have such an amazing ability to see into the future. How they're willing to sacrifice very important pieces knowing that it will later pay off. It's understandable when we see computer do this as they don't feel emption and they're not afraid of risk. It's also depressing knowing that I could never play this well. I have only been playing for two months and my elo is up to almost 850 now and I can see myself getting to 1000 by the end of the month. But being honest with myself, I know I'll never be able to play anywhere near this level, regardless of how much I practice

Brother I know it feels impossible but don’t compare yourself to the masters, their minds and entire lives have been structured to be great for chess and they put incredible time and focus into their games. You can be as good as them you just aren’t in the position and haven’t put the time in yet. If you treated chess like a real subject and bought books, did puzzles everyday and played 100-150 serious games a year you can be a grandmaster! Chess is at such a level it can be a lifestyle.

That is an amazing game. I think I saw this many years ago, and was always amazed by the queen sacrifice but the thing that’s really stunning about this game is that black was always one move away from checkmate. In other words, Anderson that only had to figure out a way to make black. He had to make sure there were no contingencies wear black could even get away from check for one move. That is amazing. Anderson was a class guy too. He came out of retirement to play Morphy when most of the best players in Europe were trying to hide from the formidable American.
