I was leafing through a US newspaper from August, 1959, and saw an ad from a local auto dealer offering the NSU Prinz. The ad said the local dealer had "just purchased an out of town dealer's entire stock" and they were offering the Prinz for $1199, marked down from the regular retail price of $1,542.86. Only five left, better hurry! Having never heard of NSU oe the Prinz, I fired up the Google machine and here I am. Good info. I have learned something today.
Back in 1965 when I was searching for my first car a dealer in a nearby city had an NSU Prinz on his lot. He wanted $250 CDN for it and wouldn't budge, even though it had a massive dent in the right side rear panel.. I ended up buying a 56 Beetle with a fabric sunroof for $195. Ah, those were the days.

I used to go regularly to the Calder Raceway in the early '60s. The NSU Prince is the only car that I ever saw get lapped in the first lap :)
Am buying one tomorrow!!! Fingers crossed 😊

Been looking at these little cars for quite a while
Whats it like maintaining them and getting parts for them?
Such a handsome little car
I cannot find a club to join in Victoria for these nsu,s?
Does anyone know of any??
It's not pronounced or spelt 'Prince', it's 'Prinz'. My father owned and raced a Prinz 1000, and 1200 in the late 60's in Ireland.
Mobile coffin )). excellent show
I owned 1 of these for about a year and I could lift the front of it off the ground by myself.

NSU was an heroic failure of a company. If only things had worked out just a tad differently...
