Hey man fantastic video, really good to hear a pro disc priest talk about the absolute details - I've been trying to find something like this. I was really curious to see how you play disc in action, I'd love to see a recording of a couple of fights! Even better would be to pause and talk about what's happening (but that requires more effort on your part, a raw video is good enough :D ). Not so much in terms of boss mechanic, but in terms of disc priest abilities and all that jazz. Thanks a bunch for this video!! Subbed and thumbs up :)
started playing wow again since 2007 again after i had shoulder surgery last month. decided to go with an undead priest. used to have a t3 rogue back in the day. been having fun so far. Switched over to disc healing recently and am having better healing on runs. thanks for the tips!
nice video about my favorite class&spec :) there is one thing i missed here: you can prefight trinket swap and get additional spelldmg for preshielding on heavy aoe fights (kologarn and valkyr for example). you simply stack up 10 stacks from obsidian trinket and macroswap it to another spelldmg trinket and get the bonus from third trinket. just swap it back 1 second before the 10 stacks run off and swap it back to your other trinket. is use this method for valkyr preshielding with 4,2k spelldmg
@0:03 Trust me, that reaction photo is actually how every other feels when a Disc Priest joins the raid too. A great Disc Priest will absolutely snipe your logs as any healer, it’s crazy. Still fantastic to have on your roster, though!

Not just snipe, but do so without any skill involved. At least you could say there's timing involved with throughput classes. None involved in putting a shield

@@cococock2418what exactly is so much more skilful about coating the raid in dots as Dudu? Same button inputs, or spamming chain heal as r shaman? Or we could always mention holy light spam on pala?
You must be a terrible healer or never heal if you actually think disc is just shield spam lol

How do you manage yog 0/1 with so few healers tho? We have issues with dps getting caught by the squeeze tentacles and dying out of range of healers, forcing us to 4-heal the fight so healers can be spread around the room for phase 2. Do you have any suggestions for us?
While you want to spread slightly for malady, the raid should mostly move as a group around the room. You can bop ppl out of the squeezy bois, which instantly kills them. 3 heals should be able to cover everyone.
The biggest thing for healers in phase 2 is getting dispels, decurses, cure diseases out imo. Have your dps help with this too. The damage requirement up top is pretty low. And ppl have to avoid unnecessary damage.
the biggest way to manage 0/1 light is is the dps. If the dps is high enough, healing isn't even an issue. Yog becomes vastly easier the higher the dps you have. Higher in dmg and higher in not standing in shit.

Glad you enjoyed it! definitely troll, beserking is the best for pve as you get a mini 10 second hero on a 3 minute cooldown. This also is a great cooldown if you go spriest at all.
For pvp, undead/troll then belf. Shadow res is great and will of the forsaken
For mana regen with Shadowfiend and Hymn of Hope---which order do I cast them? Shadowfiend first or Hymn of Hope first? Thanks!
How do you know if Rapture procs? Is there a buff that shows up, maybe the replinshment buff? I am trying to figure out why I only see that replinshment buff a couple times during a 5 man dungeon? The shields are for sure breaking 12 seconds apart, so I should see that buff almost constantly? Thank you!
Super late to the party, but you never mentioned power infusion. Do you always give to your big pumper caster during heroism? Or would there be a time where you would put it on yourself? Does it help during the fiend/hymn combo?
since PI wont stack with heroism you wanna use it on your good caster dps right afterwards depending on bossfights

3 heal mimiron actually works quite good. With so much dmg p2 is over before anyone is really in danger of dying

Ehh you can just spam pw:s but its definitely better to add in other buttons. Also more fun than just spamming 1 button all raid.
And it annoys our raid leader when we do so its just become a habit lol
If it's a one button rotation and it's so easy, why are there so many horrendous disc priests? It's almost like you didn't watch the video. Min maxing that other 5-10% is what separates shitters from experts.
@@cococock2418 I watched the video, and I'm a fan of min-maxing, so I appreciate his tips. That said, you can look at any of the top parsing disc priests and their overall casts are anywhere from 90-99% PWS...
@@Azot333 no, they most certainly aren’t 99%. They’re around 90% on most fights. Secondly, that part of the log isn’t showing the timing of the shields. Any moron can spam the shields on cool down randomly. That last ten percent as well as the timing is what separates any old monkey from a pro. I cannot stand this argument of “muh one button” when it objectively isn’t even true firstly.
Secondly, if that was the case, shouldn’t every last disc priest have 100 parses? I mean it’s just “pressing one button” right? Same thing goes with dps, let’s look at assassination rogue for example. Extremely easy rotation, yet tons and tons and tons of average and shitter rogues exist. There’s levels of min maxing that occur that are beyond “muh 2 button rotation” that shitters aren’t doing. If they were they’d have the parses to prove it.
@@cococock2418 I think we agree more than we disagree. I’m aware that priest fights are typically at 90% PWS usage, aside from the outlier fights like general vezax where it’s basically 99%.
I also don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing to have a one button rotation. As the video demonstrates and as you point out mockingly, there is a big difference in output between skilled and unskilled disc priests. That said, I think spamming mostly one button for the majority of a raid night can be a little repetitive to say the least 😂
Can you talk about power infusion usuage
Sure, if there is a fight where you struggle with mana, feel free to use it when you are about to dump a ton of mana. I use it on myself in phase 1 of iron council, early xt(we hero at 40%), and mimiron phase 2 just due to damage output
If not i pi our best aff lock when they want it, usually off cooldown till the boss is at 30% or with hero
The haste doesn't stack with bl but the mana reduction works. For max dmg cast it on pumper right after bl then on CD I less the fight is short on which case wait for execute. Aff lock is bis but pumper>class. If you havemana troubles you can use it on yourself during bl for mana reduction then on casters on CD after.

@@jessemiller5583 do you understand how healing parses work? Unless your raid is taking a ton of extra damage you won't get the chance to get 99s every week. ITs not like damage dealers where you can always improve how much damage you output, there is only so much healing to do
