  • GB Railfreight rededicated their freshly-repainted 66718 in a short ceremony at London Waterloo on May 24, with Lord Hendy unveiling the new nameplates with John Smith, MD of GBRf. It saw the old “Sir Peter Hendy CBE” nameplates being updated to reflect his upgrade to a Life Peerage, and the new plates - something of a mouthful - read:
Peter, Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill
of Imber in the County of Wiltshire
Following the naming (which I didn’t record all of due to poor audio - it was very difficult to hear Lord Hendy), a short, circuitous railtour ran, from Waterloo to Richmond via Herne Hill and Wimbledon as 1Z60, then back into Waterloo via Barnes and Clapham Junction as 1Z61. The tour is seen at Brixton on the outbound leg and Richmond as it begins the return.
Thanks to GBRf and Lord Hendy for being accommodating to the general enthusiasts with regards to watching the ceremony - a relaxed occasion that I very much enjoyed watching!
