Summary 👇
1. There are 3 stages. The aim was to give ourselves a different identity, free from British rule. To create a sense of independence as the national movement was in full swing.
2. First stage --- the flag was hosted in Calcutta. The flag has three colors. First, green with eight lotuses which represents eight provinces. Second, yellow color and "Vande Mataram" is written in hindi and in black color. Third, its red color with sun and half-moon in there.
2. Second stage ---- flag was hosted in Andhra Pradesh. At first, the flag had only two colors: green, which represented muslims and red, which represented hindus. And, a chhakra on the flag. Gandhi ji suggested to add white color, which represented the minor community. That's how the flag came to be.
3. Third and the final stage --- It's India's national flag. They didn't want the flag to represent only religions. So, they made the flag tricolor in saffron, white, and green with a blue chakkara. Saffron represents strength and courage. It also represents all religions. White represents peace and purity of the nation. Green represents the growth and the progress of our country. The chakkara represents change/progress of our nation, and taken from Aahoka Chakra. The 24 strokes represents 24 hours and 24 hours of our sense of duty.
