- Bayo can't holder her guns forever anymore
- Dedede used to have a multihit dair in brawl
- Tink dair used to bounce off opponents in Brawl

Change from Sm4sh to Ultimate:
Steve got into Smash
Olimar used to pummel using pikmin, now he uses his fists.
Sonic actually still has intangibility on his spin dash
- Link’s new final smash in ultimate
- Link’s up tilt in ultimate is now like Cloud’s
- Luigi can hold down the jab button in ultimate now
- Captain Falcon’s new f-smash in ultimate
- Ice Climbers adjusted final smash
- Ivysaur can now hold down the jab button (before the flurry starts)
- Diddy Kong can now hold down the jab button
- Lucas rope snake in the air now has a hurt box in Ultimate
- R.O.B. can now hold down the jab button
- Wii Fit Trainer’s final smash new big silhouette
- PAC-MAN’s water from the fire hydrants used to be unstoppable but now you can hit the water in Ultimate
Now here are visual changes with no damage difference but simply the moves look different:
- They changed the way Link holds his sword in his up air in smash 4. Same with Toon Link
- Link’s jab in ultimate looks different from before
- Lucas’ up air in smash 4 and ultimate had him do a flip after the move but not in brawl
- Lucario’s dash attack in brawl had his leg drag on the ground but in 4, his leg is now more in the air
- Lucario’s up air in smash 4 has him do a flip but in brawl, he doesn’t do a flip
- Lucario’s f-smash in brawl had him spin his hands? But not in smash 4
- Lucario’s up smash in brawl had him spin around however that animation is absent in 4
-R.O.B.’s f-smash in Brawl had his arms be thrown forward but in 4 and ultimate, his arms are held on the ground while performing f-smash
- Bowser Jr’s finisher jab in smash 4 punches horizontally but in ultimate, it punches up
I believe you're missing the special moves Mii Brawler had changed from Smash 4 to Ultimate!

For Toon Link, his down-air was a spike where he was able to bounce on opponent, however in Smash 4, he no longer bounces on opponent making this move a very occasional spike
It's not an occasional spike it depends at one point you hit the move.
It's intial frames are a spike.
Didn't they also change some of his arials? I'm not entirely sure.

He also messed up Bowser Side B in Melee, it DID have a grab Hitbox

Bayo had a few more changes from smash 4 to ultimate:
1. She could use side b in the air twice if it his shield or the wall of the stage. Now it only will allow 2 if it hits an opponent.
2. You used to be able to hold guns forever
3. Her taunts were far better in the last game 😢
also she had 2 seconds to use her second abk in sm4sh, now its only 1
RIP taunts. Ultimate kinda ruined them.
You forgot DDDs DAir from Brawl, where it was a multi-hit hammer-drill similar to UpAir (just downwards instead of upwards), where as from Smash 4 onwards its just a swing downwards
Didn't even call King Dedede's original Final Smash by its proper name:
The Big Gay Dance.
Sonic Side B does have Invincibility, but only when it's not fully charged and during the hop animation. It's pretty difficult to time but it's still there.
It is still there during the full charge, but because he skips the hop and how grounded spin works it causes sonic to clank with other grounded moves and projectiles.
This series was really interesting, Poppt with some top quality content again :)

Brawl characters seemed to have all of there unique mechanics toned down a bit, especially relevant in there final smashes

As much as Meta Knight's old jab was busted...I really wish it was back. It was so fun, and actually unique for a jab.
Diddy could actually get the “peas” in the peanut from his neutral special if they were hit by a fire attack! This is best seen in subspace mainly the one level in the bomb factory or the halberd With fire shooting up, they would heal you a small amount too

For Robin, you forgot that Dow B (Nosferatu) had 4 uses to it in Smash 4 and reduced it to 3 in Ultimate. Additionally her Nair, in Smash 4, Nair was only bronze sword. In Ultimate you can now use nair with either Bronze Sword or Levin Sword.

Extra things to note for King Dedede:
Similar to Cloud's neutral air change, Dedede doesn't stretch his hammer as far for his Forward Tilt starting in Smash 4 compared to in Brawl and the arm extends further making the hurtbox more vulnerable, also a multi hit move instead of a single hit unlike in Brawl.
Jet Hammer got 14% heavy armor on the ground in Ultimate.
Missed a few things but still a blast to watch. Thoroughly enjoyed it and great work!
So happy I subscribed and joined the discord server to stay up to date on videos and got to see this whole series.
Toon Link didn't just have the forward smash change. His down air in Brawl bounces when he hits the opponent but he can't do that anymore since Smash 4
Which turned it from a risk-reward move into a unreliable suicide kill

It actually isn't bad in his kit. You can get decent damage off it it out of a bomb combo with it and it hits below ledge so if they regrab or you time it right, they get spiked without you killing yourself.
Toon link actually did have another change, his down air used to bounce him back up when it hit, like link's
Something you missed about Diddy Kong: His Up Special could spike if the opponent was below you when you used it. Toon Link's Down Air also used to bounce when it hit someone.
Ya forgot to mention that Cloud limit now has a timer that makes you lose it if you don't use it.

You forgot a few things about Robin:
-Nosferatu was changed from 4 uses to 3 uses
-Robin was given the ability to do a slight hop without any elwind charge in Ultimate
-The arcfire orb gets cancelled by any hitbox in Ultimate, it didn't have that property in 4
-Wind jab had an animation change to better hit smaller opponents
-Most importantly, Robin was given the ability to do Levin nair in Ultimate
Some of these changes are pretty minor and understandably glossed over, but levin nair is a pretty major change to the character. Oh well, all part of the pain of repping a pretty much forgotten character.

Did you ever go over the changes for the Miis? I know some of their special moves changed. Like in Sm4sh Mii Brawler had the Mach Punch I believe is what it was called where they charged up an uppercut and then it could be used at any time but now it's replaced with the flaming kick.
You are right about Brawler but in smash 4 neutral b 2 was the charged up punch and in ultimate it’s flying mach punch, the flame kick is neutral b 3, also down b 3 was a Falcon kick in smash 4 but it’s now a counter in ultimate
@@tiermaster1357 Yeah I couldn't remember which exactly got replaced just knew some changed.
Kinda sad they removed the charge up punch since it was unique to Mii Bralwer and not a copy of another fightings move.

Great video! It would also be interesting to go through the changes in the game mechanics themselves, like not being able to grab ledge when facing backwards in melee etc.

You should mention that Shulk's counter no longer goes through shield and his backslash can be slightly angled as well as grab ledge after a certain time.
When Toon Link (in Brawl) did his down-air, he could keep the direction held so he could bounce off the opponent.

Ball----->Slower star fox with more range.
And side B STILL has invincibility.
And sonic also had ALOT of animation changes,but I liked brawl's better.

@@fundeiroradical6779 I mean that's still better than a final smash that was absurdly broken that almost nothing else could compare. Not that his should be as bad as it is, but the invincible flying final smashes in general were really badly designed and he was the peak of that.

Little Mac can also now shield while charging neutral B in Smash Ultimate, but he couldn't in Smash 4.
KO Punch's animation was also changed so that he leaps in the air, giving it more vertical range than in Smash 4.

A more recent one is that Cloud's advent children skins now use Omnislash V5 as opposed to just Omnislash, which is on his odd numbered skins, this was added with sephiroth.

You forgot to mention the spike properties on Pacman moves. I think it is now the only character in ultimate who can't perform a meteor smash
in wii u, villager also used to randomly get fruit from the trees when he chops them down.
i don't think that happens anymore in ultimate.
also his uptilt twiggy twirl used to hit behind him but now it only hits slightly in front and above him
and his dair only used to spike on the 3 turnips but now it spikes on all variants with 1 turnip being a weak spike, and 3 turnips being the strongest spike
In Smash 4, Robin always had the Levin Sword at the start of the match. But in Smash Ultimate, Robin would have to wait 15 seconds after a match started to get his Levin Sword, though you can still get it quicker by performing Smash Attacks/Smash Aerials
Maybe you can do prediction movesets next, it would be just as interesting as this

9:04 Side Note : The Neutral air was just two swipes of the Bronze Sword and in Ultimate, it's still the two swipes but you can hit Attack and Special to bring out the Levin sword to Neutral Air.
You needed to have great memory to play has has Robin and Villager. I am glad they give you an icon in Ultimate.
Toon link also stopped the down air as h touched an Enemy, like he went straight down and bounc on the Enemy, while now he goes straight down
I havent seen the video but i spect to see witch twists and plenty of stuff of bayo that its really complicated to control

2:24 Not only Dedede can chuck out those three in Brawl, but with quite a low chance that he will throw out a capsule that is very likely to a dragon part or the smash ball in it
forgoten thing: in brawl, olimar's neutral B pulls pikmins at random howerver in smash 4 or ultimate (I don't remember which one) they now get pulled in a set order.
Did anyone notice that R.O.B's Final Smash sounds like Reincarnated Marx from Kirby Super Star Ultra dying while he splits in 2.

You missed a few minor things on R.O.B. Like in Ultimate they put a meter on his torso to tell how much fuel he had left in his up-b, and his f-smash in Brawl he leaned forward and sparks flew out of his eyes, and in Smash4 now he plants his hands on the ground and shoots a short range laser

For Robin, the Levin sword also needs to charge at the start of a match, and arcthunder hits the opponent for a way shorter time meaning it doesn't combo as well.
One thing about Robin.
She N-air used to be the only aerial that didn't use levin sword, but now in ult it does.
R.O.B.:
- Arm Rotor got an uppercut at the end since Smash 4.
- R.O.B. can charge his Gyro if he is holding it as a held item since Ultimate
- Robo Burner cannot fly anymore immediately when it's canceled since Smash 4 (in SSBB you could us Robo Burner, cancel it with an aerial, and then still fly up after using the aerial).
- Pressing a during Robo Burner while holding the Gyro as a held item throws the Gyro since Smash 4 and performs a Nair in SSBB.
- Robo Burner must be used to fly up for a while upon activation since Smash 4. In SSBB it was possible to activate the move and then flying up as much or little as you wanted.
Wolf's side-b in brawl was the up-b, the side-be was the up-b and then in ultimate they were exchanged
That is incorrect. The Up B was always the kick and the side B was always the diagonal air dash with the spike sweetspot.

Don't know if anyone mentioned it yet, but D3's forward special in Brawl would occasionally throw out a capsule.
Maybe it doesn't count as a moveset change, but in Ultimate Shulk's nair is a full 360 sword swing. In Smash for Wii U it was more like a 270 swing. His Backslash now grabs ledge as well, allowing it to be a recovery mixup.
I like how in Brawl Wolf stole sonic’s neutral air or vise versa

small one I did not see in comments, Little mac neutral B is now cancellable by shield and he only gets one charge of side B until he lands, so even if youre hit aferwards its not useable unlike in smash 4 where after hit you can try again

For that Rosalina final Smash, the little stars in the Wii U just knocks people away from the big star, but in Ultimate, getting hit by those little stars just sucks right into the Grand Star.

Also in brawl the spacies were able to cancel their side b halfway through or cancel it even at all. Idk if wolf could do that too tho
Side B still has Invincibility. It's just Invincibility clanks on the ground but not in the air, so Sonic can still go through things with the small hop at the beginning but he clanks if he fully charged the move.
Fully charge Spindash can go through Wondering though.
Metaknights tornado now does one hit instead if multi-hits like brawl and Sm4sh
Cloud has a new final smash now, but that happened after this video was made.
Mii Brawler had some different special moves in smash 4 that got changed in ultimate, the other miis the same
Rosa’s FS still shoots out those stars that hit ppl
Robin's thrust up smash is now used when you don't have the good sword
You missed soooo much with Toon Link. His down air, up b, down smash, down tilt, zair and more got changes
Interesting, I forgot what Wolf's moveset used to be in Brawl. RoA's Zetterburn def borrows a lot of his attacks.
I miss custom moves, Palutena’s side special had the explosive flame as a custom move and one of her custom neutral specials was activating lightweight mode
You forgot to mention that in Ultimate Greninja got *Ash-Greninja* in his Final Smash
Lucas’ grab animations were also changed to PSI attacks
