for me, my solution is a VW T6 LWB, petrol, 4motion, low metal roof, "indium grey". working hard and saving like crazy to buy one soon.
+Jean-Louis Bourdon that's a really nice van, almost had one t5 lwb 4motion, with medium roof (quite rare, perfect size) but the 2.5tdi, the engine wasn't very good and found my vanilda the same day 😀 i guess you don't live in Europe, do you? Here is almost always diesel.
Patrique Feijão I'm French but i live in UK (is it still Europe? lol) first thing i will do is winterise the van.
Patrique Feijão btw, i prefer petrol. but until now they only sold diesel. since july they start selling petrol as many towns will just ban diesel. i think diesel is better for proper all wheel drive
Patrique Feijão and btw, sorry for spamming lol my parents have same van as you in silver. converted from new by a french company called stylevan. it's covenient when they come to visit me, they can bring fresh food we can't get in UK, like spicy beef sausagea called merguez) in the fridge :-)

One of the options is to rent (hire) the van and see how you live on it. rent one in which you can stand up and then one medium in which you cannot stand up.

I've got a Sprinter SWB hi top. Perfect for me. Easy to park anywhere and lots of space inside. Great fuel consumption.
