It's insane seeing the role players play with such aggression and grit 💯! You can tell Kobe drilled the mamba mentality into everyone he played with 🐍 🏆
Man that rebuild time was when that core group gelled after years of grinding. Sasha, Luke, Odom, Bynum…then the addition of Gasol….Fisher doing the Jazz dirty…great times…. Those last two championships were hard earned…Loved that team.
Every time im sad, because of the Lakers' bad seasons, I just come back here and watch these past great moments. I remember every finals games, my dad wouldn't go to work and I wouldn't go to school, just so we could watch the Lakers win championships. Despite being born in 2000, ive loved the Lakers longer than I can remember. I hope the Lakers can get back on track, and get Kobe his 6th ring. Go Lakers!!
Obviously they will come back and win more championships, I'm a celtics fan and either though we're in the playoffs I still know that they will get knocked out in the first round, I really don't even wanna make the playoffs anyway, but honestly I don't think Kobe has a chance of winning his 6th ring...if he comes back next season, that'll be his last season for sure. I'm sorry to say it bro. One day the celtics and lakers will be back in the finals head to to in another classic, amazing round of 7 series that I can't wait for!!!
Yea im a Clippers fan but I have a lot of respect to Lakers fans cause obviously they won more 16 titles I think while the Clippers never won one yet. But I have faith that you guys will win another championship
Damn...I was at my 8th grade end of year awards when this game was on...I got home and remember rushing to turn onto abc and it was end of 3rd quarter....gives me chills seeing Kobe extremely focused and intense
They got favored by the refs, it was so bad, Lakers should have lost this game, all those BS fouls that weren't fouls, put the Lakers on the line, unreal!
Kobe Bryant won his fifth and final ring at the perfect time. Winning against the Celtics, at Staples Center, game 7, leaving the 2000s on top and leading the NBA into the 2010s and passing the torch to LeBron. And having the perfect final game, at home, 60 points vs Jazz, still showing his desire to be better than Michael Jordan, 60 points meaning 6-0 in the Finals vs also against the Jazz. Both hit game winners vs Jazz. He was just incredible at what he did.
@@michaelreyes6258 I'm starting to think these next numbers of jerseys, ages, dates, records, and shot clocks might not be a coincidence to represent Kobe and Gigi.
Ernesto Diaz this is only the highlights not the whole game..watch the whole game instead of yelling your ass in a youtube comment without knowing the whole detail
For all the people saying "Kobe didn't deserve Finals MVP" just because his shot was cold in Game 7 completely ignore the fact that no one really shot well that game (look it up), his index finger was injured, and he also impacted the game in other ways like defense, rebounding and getting to the foul line. And it's called "Finals MVP," not Game 7 MVP. Before Game 7, Kobe was shooting 43.2% from the field, 37.5% from 3, and 93.3% from the line. That's great efficiency playing against great defense in the NBA Finals against a team with arguably 4 All Stars. I'm also not even including his great averages when it comes to points, rebounds, steals, assists, etc...
Kobe's last field goal in this game was a pull up jumper towards the elbow...Kobe's last field goal in his final game was a pull up jumper towards the elbow... Then to have Lamar outlet the ball ahead to Kobe to run out the clock...and then to have Kobe be the one to outlet the ball to Clarkson to seal the win for his farewell... Amazing.
Alejandro Serrano i aint lebron fan or warriors fan or cavs fan ..but down to 3-0 and gsw won at 4-0..that is not what i fucking called “Exciting” i call that an instant game prediction
I'm a celtics fan but damn, what a great series and even though there's a rivalry between us, I really like the lakers and I'm hoping for a rematch in the finals soon. Lakers vs Celtics, greatest rivalry of all time!
Kobe didn’t have the best scoring night of his life. But any basketball fan can see he was still far and away the best player on the floor that night. He flat out refused to lose this game.
To tell the truth that night Gasol was the best by far, probably It was the worst Game of Kobe. But even when it was his worst game he was really important to win that night, that shows that he was absolutely the best basketball player
Kobe never gave up, missing shots but played his heart out on defence. Actually it was the clutch play of Metta World Peace (Ron Artest) really wanted that first and only championship who stepped his game up. Pau Gasol was the rebounding machine.
@@viktorcheng2061see how many times he was at the line!? Why is that... Bc Boston was playing him tough. So when that happens you do something else and he did. Boards and he nailet his fts. Goated.
As a Kobe-Generation person growing up watching the Lakers golden days with Kobe Bryant, this is the best Lakers game ever I watched. This will never be forgotten.
@@chriswalls5831 2016 warriors>2010 Celtics. And Kobe was pretty mediocre in the 2010 finals. 28 ppg with barely 40% FG percentage, 30% 3p% and only 3 apg. Legend but also a comically overrated player. He was statistically never as clutch as Lebron
@@mikemoggerson6651 hater. What's lebron's free throw % in the last 2 minutes of a game versus Kobe's? Since we want to talk clutch. What about who has the most wins in the playoffs vs 50 win teams? And who has more rings in less tries? All the stats that really matter Kobe masters. You can keep the buzzer beater statline. I'd rather have a guy knocking off top tier teams in each round of the playoffs on his way to dominate the entire league not just a conference for ten years, going to the finals 7 times and winning 5. Oh and don't forget the Lakers were down 3-2 this series and won game 6 in Boston thanks to Kobe's 38 on the road. Even in this game he was the leading scorer and rebounder on both teams. And no one but arterst shot a good % that's out of both teams. Oh and who just got another loss in the playoffs to a 50 win team??? Leswept

Me too bro i remember watching this w mom n dad n my big brother who was the biggest kobe fan ever n laker fan and towards the end he yelled "THIS IS WHY THE LAKERS DESERVE TO WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP THIS YEAR THIS IS THEIR YEAR" AFTER kobes clutch shot
10 years ago this june, last time Kobe delivered title to LA. cant believe his gone now. Thank You Kobe for all the memories! Long Live The Icon! RIP Kobe & Gigi
This comment is for ALL the idiots who say "Kobe didn't deserve Finals MVP." Kobe's averages in the 2010 NBA Finals up until Game 7: • 30 Points Per Game • 7 Rebounds Per Game • 4.2 Assists Per Game • 2.5 Steals Per Game • 1 Block Per Game • 44% FG% • 37% 3P% • 93% FT% And most people that try to discredit his Game 7 performance don't even realize that he still played great defense, GOT 15 REBOUNDS AS A SHOOTING GUARD, and got to the line plenty while being very clutch and efficient. Kobe knew his shoot wasn't falling, so he used his diverse skillset and basketball I.Q to impact the game in other ways to help his team win, that's called greatness! And on top of that, EVERYONE on both teams shoot poorly in Game 7. And in addition, Kobe also had a fractured finger on his shooting hand. I find it funny how all haters can say is "Kobe shot 6-24" without acknowledging or mentioning ANY of these facts. In short, people should do their research and learn a thing or two about the game of basketball before trying to diminish Kobe's greatness in the 2010 Finals.
GTFOH Kobe shot 6-24 and grabbed 15 rebounds almost all defensive ones while gasol shot 6-16 and grabbed 18 rebounds (9 offensive). What i want to say with this is that kobe wasn't alone. He had gasol (hof lock), shooters like artest and odom, a x-factor like fisher and the most important one... Vujacic. (Kobe deserved the FMVP)
UA-cam is like a time machine for everything! Sports, Music, News, Memories, History, and all of the above! I miss Kobe & Gianna Bryant:( May they rest in peace & be remembered forever!! God bless!! Make World Peace!
That's what I'm thinking. Also how ridiculous fouls are these days, little taps get you sent to the line. Crazy how much the game changes in a 10 year span.
Game 7s are traditionally low scoring games. The Cavs-Warriors 2016 was 93-89, The Sixers-Raptors 2019 was 92-90, etc. Both teams are very burnt out and they’re expected to give their 110% and then some.
One of the greatest rivalry of all time... From Bird vs. Magic into the Kobe vs Pierce,Garnett and Allen era... The Lakers and Celtics was never been boring when playing against each other in the NBA finals. 🎉
Watching this game still makes me sitting on the edge of my chair. I knew the result but it feels like everything is happening in a parallel universe. In that universe, Kobe is still living happily, and basketball is still fun.
Defense is the key.. multiple blocked shots.. neither lakers or the celtics wants the other to score both teams came to compete.. unlike now.. just pure offense with trash defense.. :(
“The Lakers Repeat! Back To Back Titles!!!” Ill always remember that moment. So nostalgic 7th Grade Going on to 8th, man everything was easier. RIP Kobe Bean The Man The Myth The Legend
Daniel Barwatt man I was a Cs fan back then I hated the lakers with a passion I cried after this game because Boston had control over this game majority of the time
In my opinion, the 2010 NBA finals will go down as the greatest NBA Finals of the 21st century. No one will ever touch that greatness of a series ever.
Pumpkin GuineaPig but the thing is, it doesn't had that iconic moment like other finals have. 98' had "The Shot". 2016 finals had "The Block". This game had what? "The freethrows" ???? Kobe and the crew got bailed out by the refs in this game to be honest. Its good for the business though so I'm not blaming NBA, Lakers was the most beloved team back then....
2016 Finals were way better. You had the block, game 5 Lebron and Kyrie both going for 40, back to back 40 point games by Lebron, the shot with a minute left in game 7 by Kyrie, etc...etc..... Only really memorable moment of 2010 was the shot by Artest.
Man remember when he got drafted and traded to the Lake Show….97 vs the Jazz….to Shaq….then the rebuild….the grind…then Gasol Odom Artest Ariza….Lol Phil fkn Jackson……first 3 were awesome, the last two were truly earned….special time and place…
I still can't believe he's gone . I remember watching these finals when life was barely manageable and this game helped me have some joy in life. Rip kobe ... Gone but never forgotten .
Chris Butler that made be true but this was the last true physical nba finals with tons of defense in it before all these rules started to come in the league
Seth Doty real talk!!!! Was the best insane how they were both tied up and just going back and forth like crazy I will always remember watching this 2009-2010 finales man it was the best like you said
This is one of the greatest series of all time! It makes it so much sweeter since it was against the Celtics! So much tension and physicality throughout the whole game. This is something we'll never see again.
14:07 - 14:25 seeing his happiness here... just made me tear up so much. He literally gave it his all for this game and for us fans. I don't think I can ever come to full grips with his death, that Kobe Bryant is no longer alive. Such a ridiculous, unnecessary tragedy.
These were some of the best memories I’ve ever had with my brothers. All watching every single game being nervous, excited, sad, and happy all at once.
@@mufidlassissi5058 it was. Thanks to refs controling the tempo, preventing every warriors run, to make it a tight game. BTW it's included in the most rigged finals like the 06.
Say what you will but mj and LeBron won titles multiple ones as an underdog without homecourt in the finals...they both did it twice vs superior teams ...Kobe never did...he had 1 finals where his team didnt have the better record and he lost by 39 ...he was on the better team usually....LeBron has been on the less superior team 6 times out of 8...
Asmosis Jones bull fucking shit... Lebron was the under dog only in 2007 and maybe 2015 but that was due to irving & love being injured., you mean to tell me a team with wade, bosh & lebron were underdogs? To dirk and jason terry? Or how about a 37 year old duncan a 32 year old parker and a 35 year old ginobli. 2016 they weren't underdogs the teams were evenly matched irving, love, lebron vs curry, Thompson, green.. Stop it your drunk. ( p.s records dont count for shit in the nba.. ) everybody in there right mind knew jordan and who ever he played with in the 90's were the better team despite the record how dare you say jordan was an underdog, and dont give me that whole bad boy piston bull shit.. They were already old and done after they won back to back hence why jordan beat thomas 11 times in a row.. ( also malone & Stockton were never better then jordan, kukoc, rodman, pippen ) neither was charles barkley, or shawn kemp & gary payton.. There's a reason jordan was 6-0 in the finals.. Dont sit here and act like kobe didnt have to battle his way thru tough opponents to earn his rings, especially 2000-2002 dude had to battle the spurs, blazers, kings ( especially the kings they went several game 7's if it werejt for a crooked ref the lakers might have only won twice in that era.. Kobe in this series had to battle 3 hall of famers an all star rondo and another great player named wallace.. That 2010 celtic team was stacked as fuck.. If anything lebrons had it easy as fuck to get to the finals.. Theres a reasom he has a losing record against teams in the west..
Asmosis Jones nigga u stupid Lebron had a super team Bosh wade Ray Allen then with Love and Kyrie the only time kobe had a super team was him and Shaq this team was mostly just role players maybe pau was super star but rest was just role players kobe dueled a big 4 and won
This was the most painful game I have ever watched. I'm a die hard Celtics fan and this game crushed me. This year we are in the Finals, hopefully we get to win the championship this season.
EVERY SINGLE POSSESION COUNTED IN THIS SERIES .the team who had more rebounds ,won every single game ! Kobe was cold from the field but he laid everything out on that court! He grabbed 16 boards against that beast of a celtics team because he knew the Lakers needed as many chances to score as possible .he impacted the game in so many other ways that people refuse to notice! defensive intensity, rebounds, making clutch decisions down the stretch and getting to the line to put points on the board with a broken finger on his shooting hand and bone spurs in his ankle ! He could barely walk and was getting shots in between games ! My nigga did everything possible to help his team win and ofc shout out to Pau and the rest of the boys who played their heart out and got us this W ! Y’all dumb for these stats
Atleast that time they support and respect each other, everytime lakers call a timeout they hug and give high five not like today's lakers lol
The players did it on their own nothing to do with Kobe
Sorry for the bad English
Russel Tayson i can understand your feelings. Cz i come to see it by the same reason. keep healthy, go lakers.

@Mrd9960 bruh don't make excuses celtics lost. They had they chance
Checked out vs. Utah with 4.1 on the clock, passes away at 41.
Kobe jersey number 24 and his lil girl Gigi wore number 2...24+2=26...they passed away 1/26!

LeBron’s in 2016 was just as good, if not better. When he blocked Iguodala like that, you know he was willing to die to win.
Best defense? They only showed a couple blocks and Kobe shootimg very contested shots.

This was a great series. I loved watching the big guys battle inside.
Kobe also scored 10 points in the 4th quarter in game 7, highest in the 4th quarter
And he had 16 rebounds as a guard. He deserved every bit of that FMVP
Lakers have arguably 5 all stars. They are on par
warriors will crushed these celtics and lakers
Inday Garutay warriors wouldn’t last with this defense played game 7 or the 00’s
Watching this and Still feel like Kobe is alive.
Amazing.

Statistically it was a rough slog of a match for every player on both teams. It was a test of wills and was beautiful to watch.

SERIOUSLY, I've been screaming it for years this Lakers team should be on 2k, its one of the weirdest gaps in the otherwise great classic team lineup
10 years ago this june, last time Kobe delivered title to LA. cant believe his gone now. Thank You Kobe for all the memories! Long Live The Icon! RIP Kobe & Gigi
This comment is for ALL the idiots who say "Kobe didn't deserve Finals MVP."
Kobe's averages in the 2010 NBA Finals up until Game 7:
• 30 Points Per Game
• 7 Rebounds Per Game
• 4.2 Assists Per Game
• 2.5 Steals Per Game
• 1 Block Per Game
• 44% FG%
• 37% 3P%
• 93% FT%
And most people that try to discredit his Game 7 performance don't even realize that he still played great defense, GOT 15 REBOUNDS AS A SHOOTING GUARD, and got to the line plenty while being very clutch and efficient.
Haters only see one bad game 😅
I never knew kobe have basketball I.Q that way bricks shot is that basketball I.Q ?
Androssi Zahard your IQ is not that good.
Victor Oladipo that's an understatement

Anton Smith so there’s only good defense when it’s a low scoring game?
Game 7s are traditionally low scoring games. The Cavs-Warriors 2016 was 93-89, The Sixers-Raptors 2019 was 92-90, etc.
Both teams are very burnt out and they’re expected to give their 110% and then some.
theres no defense , its just a low scoring game and kobe missed a lot of shots lol just telling the truth
@@johnpaulmarquez5864 "There's no defense" Lol, no kid. Ray Allen shot 3-14, Pierce shot 5-15. Everyone was dog shit except Garnett, lmao

When they scored it was meaningful
Defense is the key.. multiple blocked shots.. neither lakers or the celtics wants the other to score both teams came to compete.. unlike now.. just pure offense with trash defense.. :(

Mj and lebron were both in the leastern conference.
