  • Today we got to interview someone we’ve been hoping to meet for a long time and that’s a personal favorite author, counselor and teacher, John Eldredge! You may know John from his most popular book, Wild at Heart, a book Andrew recommends to everyone. “Wild at Heart” has inspired a ministry that currently includes events, retreats , a podcast and several additional books published by John. As parents of two boys, it was really impactful to talk to John about how to best support, encourage and raise confident young men in today’s world. We hope you learn as much from this conversation as we did :)
    Love you guys!

Excellent! So much wisdom in this podcast! When John said "Love covers a multitude of sins" pertaining to raising children, a light bulb came on. I realized as a parent of grown children that although I made mistakes (which I agonize over regularly) that what really counted was that I loved them immensely, believed in them and encouraged them. Don't forget that in 20 years:)

John Eldredge is great! My dad has used his books to help guide my brothers and I in our faith journeys. I have a lot of respect for the fact that you interviewed him.

I love hearing that Andrew is going back for a Ph.D in Psychology at Liberty! I went to Grove City College for my bachelors in social work and then another Christian program for my MSW. Like he said, having an education tied back to Christ and faith has been incredibly refreshing and it sets us up well for navigating careers in the secular world from a faith-based perspective. I wouldn’t change my higher education path for anything, it was sustaining and revitalizing. The neuroscience behind how faith integrates in our professions is absolutely fascinating, and the way God designed us and our brains for community is vital to our well-being!
