"and children, which aren't pets" I don't know, there are times that might be debatable.😉 Spider Plants are good for kids because you can teach kids how to propagate their own. Peace Lily is always a good go to plant, as well, since they don't need much light to grow and flower. I also like False Aralia, pretty easy and interesting foliage.
I’m so excited to try to begin this plan journey! Finally a video about what’s safe for kids. I’m awful with plants I try and they always die so I’m hoping these will work lol
🕷 🕷 are one of my favorite!!!! 😈😈😈 And just because the plant is not toxic doesn’t mean that the fertilizer you are using isn’t ..... just food for thought 💭(no pun intended) And if a little one is going to get into a plant they typically don’t stop at the leaves, they go after the dirt to! Lol got to love them! 🥰🥰🥰💕💕💕💖💖💖💖
Nice intro...great editing and another awesome video =) and ooohh that narwhal pot =D Now let me get back to sweeping up the dirt off the floor from a plant my kitty spilt =/
Great informative vid! Just watched the zz plant video and didn't realize it was toxic! Good thing my kitty doesn't have any interest in it. I wanted to add Pothos to your list of houseplants! Is it non toxic though I wonder? Hmmm...
I like your pond and the plants you have around it. I've been watching a few episodes and am wondering where you have this set up? As it looks like you are wrapped up in a greenhouse. Is it outside or in your basement or garage or something?? Is there a video that shows more? Just curious
lol, it is a unique set up. I wrapped an area of my garage with plastic so the heaters would have a smaller area to heat and set the pond in the center. I use the pond to water the plants and help keep humidity up. There is an old video about it, but I'm planning on making a different one that is higher quality and more detailed in the next couple of weeks. :) .. Oh I think the video is called, "Why there's a pond in my garage" ... I can't post links in here otherwise I would just copy and paste it in here. Hope all is well! :)
@@TropicalPlantParty Ok thanks I'll have to check it out. Quick question obviously since your tropicals are in there it is kept warm enough for your fish too and you keep feeding them in winter. I guess I should ask where exactly you are located and how cold it does get. I am in Saskatchewan Canada and I have koi and goldfish overwintering in the garage, but my garage is not heated just insulated. We overwinter the fish in two huge cow troughs, with a small bubbler and filter, plus we have to keep cow trough heaters in there so it doesn't ice over. The fish just go dormant and not move around very much. Can't feed them once the temperatures go below 55 otherwise it will kill them if you feed, but with that being said they also don't eat even if we throw food in there.
Troughs is how I started out also, they are perfect for overwintering koi indoors. I'm in St. Louis which is right on the border of zones 6a/6b and with the heaters and insulation in the garage the water stays between 72F - 79F. I have some tropical fish in the pond also, mostly just Danios. Because of the sturgeon i have to feed twice a day, so my koi are fat. I recently put another pump in that turns on twice a day to circulate at a higher velocity which was to make sort of a fish treadmill, and it's working!
@@TropicalPlantParty thats cool, I'm in Canada so I'm in zone 2-3 depending on the maps yoiu look at. I guess the garage is insulated just no heat so it does get cold in there.
Another wonderful video ❤️ The Areca palm is so beautiful. I always wondered what kind of palm they are. I bought my first fern(Boston fern)a couple of weeks ago and it’s going a bit brown and crispy. It did dry out. Should I be keeping it damp?
I love my areca palms! They are so elegant, easy and tropical looking! They can dry out a smidge between waterings, but they will wilt fast as soon as they want water and if they don't get watered right away the foliage will often brown some when it pops back up.
Hey Jake! Medium indirect light and moderate watering. They can take bright light, especially in the morning but if they are not used to it the foliage may scorch. I let mine dry fairly fully between waterings when temps are cooler(below 70) and when outdoors in the summer I water them frequently. If you can provide them with a lot of humidity they will send really cool aerial roots from the stems to the soil... looks really neat!
If you order all your plants online from seeds, where do they come from and where do you live?? Does it take a long time to get to you?? I wanted to try monstera delisioca seeds from China, but I heard they still need to be green and fresh to sprout. So I'm not sure thats a good option for me since it takes about 2 months for me to get packages from China to Canada to arrive. Mind you they are not expensive and could see or try???
isn't it interesting how sometimes we can be great with a hard to grow plant but then one that is supposed to be easy just gives us trouble? I'm like that with African Violets.... I always overwater them!
Happy growing!

Those are all awesome plants! I especially love the False aralias!
Peace lilies are incredibly toxic to pets

Do you have any tips for schefflera or umbrella plants? Love the videos btw.

I have the rubber plant I started seeds for the Palm tree. I order most of my seeds on Alia Express the are cheep cheep.

I can grow almost anything except the spider plants😩

😉
Boston ferns are not easy, they drop dead leaves every single day, plus you gotta mist it so often that if ur busy, it’ll stress you out! 😢
yeah mine didn't make it
