HUD is really a good thing. EV car needs no concern about engine speed。driving speed and other information can be displayed on the front. HUD is more powerful
Yeah USA administration sucks ass. What ends up happening Americans will just pay more for EV's from America makes a lot of sense for government pockets but not the consumers. America is not freedom of choice thumbs down. .
One nice thing is that, you can buy an ONVO with a small battery, and if you can swap for a large one when you need a longer range! When you finish the road trip, you can swap back for the small battery and resume for city driving.
Nice review and pretty interesting car, great channel Wheelsboy! I was on a trip in China a couple of weeks ago and between others I got to see the L60 on a shopping mall. I was impresed. I think is going to hurt model Y sales in China, it would be definitely my choice if I was looking for an SUV around 30k USD in China at the moment.

New Onvo L60 owner here! Nice vid~ The interior finish is way more refined than a Model Y so not sure where you are coming from :) The cost out the door for the 60kWh BAAS version was 149k rmb, or ~21k usd!
Agreed, except BYD. They're the second largest maker of EVs in the world and make batteries for half the other Chinese car makers. If they wanted swap stations they'd have a bigger network than NIO in 6 months.
@quixomega not easy to just have swap stations, as other brands start using the Onvo swappable batteries, I think BYD will have to join in with battery swap or lose market share.
I would never use a batt swap station, it means yo have to pay a rent every month for the battery and the battery never belongs to your car. We had battery rents 10 years ago with the first EVs here in the EU, people never liked that and its gone
This car is literally a tesla knock off, copied so many things from tesla. It's almost like the engineers of this car asked to copy Tesla's homework, and tesla said "Okay bro, but make sure you change the words so it's not obvious" but they completely ignored them

Great looking car, I like that it looks more like a sedan with a high ride height in one sense and a coupe SUV in another. I'm not a fan of not having an instrument cluster/screen in front of the driver however, I am happy they have a heads up display, hopefully they also have info on the battery, range, etc., up there in addition to speed and map info. I also like that you have a lot of rear headroom with the roof style. This I would buy, just on looks but, it also has a lot of things going for it that makes it a great car. I would like to see some highway driving at 120KPH to see how it handles wind noise as well as some track driving for handling use. I have to add, the Polestar 4 should have what this car has on it's base rear motor setup, similar battery with charge time. If the price isn't too much more once exported, a performance version would be nice to have in the range,

What are the little horns above the windshield? I had assumed they were some kind of next-next-gen lidar before you mentioned that it doesn't have that. Great video, as always! I think you're one of the best car reviewers on UA-cam.
Forgot mentioning this car has higher electricity efficiency than a Model Y. The standard battery is not a big one but the range is better than a Nio Et5.
I thought exactly the same, coming from a VW GTI mk7.5, which has buttons for everything and dash that is centered around the driver. I always thought the Tesla dash looked bare, and I would never get used to looking at a center screen. I thought I would never get used to, or enjoy driving a car without a driver centric dash. But I was wrong... After test driving a Tesla model 3, I came away pleasantly surprised and impressed and actually bought the car. I personally find it enjoyable to drive, and that comes from someone who has been driving a VW GTI for a few years. I do not miss the steeringwheel dash at all and the speed in the center display is very easy to get used to. I do love the tech and safety features and I charge it in my garage with a slow level 1 charger (regular outlet). That is just my experience.

I was always put off by the fact that I love to drive and that I felt restricted by the EV range and lack of chargers here in south west virginia, but it looks like the technology has caught up with the times and I have several fast chargers nearby and free charging at my work. I think k that finally swayed me over to take a test drive, and the fact that I was very curious to experience EV. I wish VW would bring over the ID.3, which is sort of an electric GTI and has a dash at the steering wheel.
Remember that if you choose the option of renting the battery, the car would only cost about 22 thousand dollars. Almost 15 thousand dollars less than a Tesla Model Y
I think these affordable brands will overwhelm the others in the market. Because they offer more in terms of the price, they should be less profitable for the producers. But in the long term, they will sell more and reach more people as time passes. They are the long term winners if you ask me.
NIO stock isn’t rising with coincidences. The consumers and investors know, that NIO is executing well. With ONVO, finally more individuals will understand it. The car is directly challenging the Tesla Model Y. And aims to bring more value to the customer than a Tesla. NIO did it! Congratulations, team NIO & ONVO!

@@wwbren for me I want the spare thank you. And no I do not live in the outback, but I was just outside of city limits. I blew a sidewall and cracked a wheel in a pothole during a snowstorm. Only had a tire inflator kit which was useless. Because of the weather it took over three hours for roadside assistance to find me. Needless to say it was a miserable day.
Most cars dont have a spare, but the stupid liquid they use to seal a flat. I even trow this liquid out and add a simple small compressor and the vulcanise strips for repair, that dont need replacements down the road anyway. If a shoulder is damaged no sealant would help anyway
The problem is that the UK Government will ensure that the cost of these chinese cars, which are streaks ahead of European evs are much higher than the Chinese Market so not too much undercutting them!!

10-80% on a 60kWh battery in 25min must be a mistake. The old 2023 BYD blade in the Model Y does it in 20min, 400V. The 2024 BYD blade seems to charge much better, so it should be 12-15min
How come Chinese car companies can knock out new models one after the other, when for other car manufacturers it takes years (and hundreds of millions) for each new model?
Because all the Chinese are doing is rebadging and stealing tech that took other car manufacturers years to develop, test, and implement. China has no respect for people's hard work and ideas.
I really liked this model, but it has some serious cons: - no glove box - no pockets in the backs of the seats - no storage compartment under the hood Nobody told about that before! Is is family car and need mor space! Tesla Model Y have all those things and i like it.
while the USA auto companies are buying back stocks or giving Elon Musk $55 billion to continue using 14 year old EV tech in poor quality control Tesla EVs, China is investing in research and development while improving quality control. That is the real danger of the Chinese EV market. Kia/Hyundai are the only companies making any serious advances in the USA at this time regarding EV tech. Lucid, of course, but so was Fiskar Aptera, and a few small companies that are bankrupt or on the verge of bankruptcy and not a threat to the US automotive industry.
