The outro from 13:42 on just gets me every time... It feels like the conclusion of a long journey that's been fraught with pain and sadness. Both recalling all of the bad times experienced along the way, while also realizing that those same experiences were valuable lessons that you can be thankful to have learned. Just a crazy amount of emotion packed into only about a minute of one reminiscent guitar, and one lonely violin
I've been searching for this type of music for a long time and haven't found it till now. No screaming, perfect metal guitars, melodic, orchestrated. If anyone else knows of bands like this, let me know!
This is such an incredible story, I dont know of whom and about what, but to me it is like an epic tale of something. A brilliant master piece that clearly didnt get the recognition it well deserves.
@@Lu1zh1 this is better than Sylosis for me, honestly... But Josh sure can write stuff like this, actually he's very good to write catch stuff for modern day niche of metal, but Wretched for me sounds more "mature", more for 90s mid 00s type of style.
Just bought this album on Vinyl. Whish they would release a reissue of this genious album as a 2x12" LP Version for the best quality. One of the best Metal Albums i've heard so far and i've heard a lot.
The solos are amazing, but the fucking TONE at 10:26 - 10:27! Oh my god, that FUCKING TONE. Keep replaying those 2 seconds over and over, SOOO much soul in that. SOOO good. Wretched is so badass.
Shadowsmust- that tone is from a neck singlecoil/splitcoil. If you wanna hear some serious wretched soul music listen to the exodus of autonomy, about halfway through your brain will explode if you play it loud enough.
Come on, man, give me some more cred than that! I listen to all their albums all the time! As for the tone, thanks for the heads-up, but I'm referring to the tone of that perfect pull-off that so perfectly fits the melody. It's more the way he played that passage, so to speak.
shadowsmustfall1 I love the part in the exodus of autonomy after the halfway mark when the solo goes from major scale and then bends into harmonic minor. Metal that will bring a tear to your eye hahaha.
***** dude. Among the people around my life. I am the biggest nerd when it comes to music. I love paying attention to details, to the instruments and different key changes and time signatures and all that good stuff. But im over getting into arguments about the less important part of music. "what kind of music do you listen to?" I respond with "technical heavy classical death jazz power metal. But only because im a bigger nerd than you." :P hahahah
I would say it’s melodic, grindcore, deathcore, horrorcore, porncore, heavy metal that forces its way into your shitbox and never leaves. Festering inside of you like a disease and then explodes all up in your face.
It looks like a cross between doom metal (slow tempo), a film soundrack, oriental metal (around 6:39) and progressive technical death metal (at least these four).
TesseracT - King Polyphia - O.D Jinjer - Pisces Beyond Creation - The Deported SpiritBox - The Mara Effect, Pt.3 Swallow the Sun - April 14th Dead Letter Circus - Alien
And the last minute of this song tells it all. Fucking character! If you don't listen to the whole song you miss out. Aka Amon Amarth, Arcturus, Wintersun, Dimmu Borgir, Inferi, Kromlek, Obscura, Ominous Grief, Slough Feg, haha getting carried away a bit
Salu2!
if you like this melodic type stuff listen to the contortionist they are fuckin awesome all their albums are good I like apparitions the best though check em out guys
There is an album this is just 4 songs off of it. Wretched has amazing instrumentals but when it comes to their actual music its more like fairly good deathcore. They only have three albums that i know of though and each of them feature and instrumental set.
I thought the next time i visited this song it would have a million views , what a fuckin piece.
We're roughly 10% there at this point.
Should be much more

Gets me every time. Wretched deserves so much more.
One of the greatest instrumentals Of all time. Masterpiece
Who here in 2023 and still thinks Wretched is a masterclass on everything?
@lkjxcvbn i appreciate you. If I could describe it. Best thing I could say would be doom metal mixed with progressive mixed with metalcore
@lkjxcvbn reach out if you need suggestions!!! Metal is great!
@lkjxcvbn between the buried and me
Still one of the best pieces of music EVER.
Classical music playing on metal instruments. Pure art. Awesome.
This popped up in my recommendeds and I didn't know what to expect. I definitely do not regret clicking it

The fucking versatility of the guitarists is just mind blowing.
I can't take it anymore, I mean I've heard dream, opeth, faceless ... but these guys are pretty F** epic musicians!
U never heard of sylosis then :(

It takes talent to pull of an art such as this.

The sound of true music, for all to hear, unstoppable. Making me defeat clear with every passing bar.
Hey Lucas!
I found the new score for Starwars Episode VII.
0.5 seconds in and I am HYPED!
Why is everyone so hung up on what to label this? It's called music. That's what this is. It doesn't make you cool trying to label everything. Enjoy.
Well said.

Easier to find other music like itself. I mean imagine if no music had labels. Harder to find the type of music your looking for.
12:08 best solo ever :3
opening 3 minutes are epic
Fucking masterpiece!
This is art, majestic!
this gave me a rock hard toner. sounds so fucking good
This is the 4th view of this band on UA-cam. How the fuck are they not mainstream??!!

I would say it’s melodic, grindcore, deathcore, horrorcore, porncore, heavy metal that forces its way into your shitbox and never leaves. Festering inside of you like a disease and then explodes all up in your face.
My pants have officially just been turned into geysers.
That ending... wow. Sounds kind of like the Godfather music.
Best part in the entire piece is 7:04
Cant get enough of this, thank you!
You don't hate the metal, The metal hates you!
Shit this is amazing, Reminds me of The Deported by Beyond Creation. Alot more atmospheric changes though.
just learned beyond the gate part 2.. besides the solos.... cuz fuck that, but im in love with the ending... omg...so fun to play.
Sounds Apocalyptical

Who care's what kind of metal it is as long as it's metal.

Is the exiting guitar melody an adaptation of a classical piece?
Melodic death masters.
THANK YOU
Beautiful
Holy fuck this is badass
Few things are more difficult than finding a bad song by this band.
Hola

Damn they need a good agent! No offense but this band is so talented. How does no one know them ?

OMG is this fucking dope.
Beauty
Gives you a chubby everytime
@5fespino
Chimaira is wicked as fuck.
I would say it's Melodic Technical Deathcore, but this band is different from anything relative.
album art is Seagrave-esque
You.
I like you.
i you wanna know what just their instrumental shit is classified into i would say progressive/experimental
I'd have to agree. This isn't metalcore. Tech death would suit these guys more.
7:04 Heavy Metal Riff!
epic
also this could be in the Experimental genre! i don't fucking know.
shaboomslap
Uhm, the commenters whose comments you failed to read?
There is no core,
Even Wretched themselves refer to it as "Thrash"
why do you feel the need to classify this ? it's just good music!
***** Genre tags do not improve music in any way. Just sayin.
***** Its metal. Badass metal.
+shachar garda nadiproject.bandcamp.com/releases Listen this :)
7:04 So heavy
If you do want a little help...that first sentence was not really a good way to reel us in.

If you try to classify music then you really must not be listening.
por qué hay tantos comentarios en inglés? o.O
looks like the same guy did this cover art as decrepit birth
Dan seagrave did the artwork. One of my favorite artists.
anyone know any bands or songs with music like this but with non screaming vocals??? 💞
Angel Vivaldi, or a personal favorite 'heavens have fallen' by rings of Saturn.
ninguém faz isso
