Why not simply forget about the macro on the coarse pitch and simply use the MIDI notes to play in the key of your track? Since the noise is not keytracking that should give you the same results without having to manually adjust the pitch with the macro and make it fit.
Sounds good. You could also assign an envelope to modulate the pitch so that the sine wave starts high and then ends at the fundamental (just like with a kick).
Yes this can be done by putting an envelope on the coarse pitch. I think you also need to change the double arrow to a single one in the matrix. That's how I do it and it seems to sound ok.

awesome tutorial, I've achieved amazing results following this idea, thanks!
Sorry I forgot to add a preview of the sound. Finished snare sound at 6:10
+SerumPresets.com Now you can try using the Band reject filter. It's really helpful. I made a lot of kicks and snares with the bandreject in Serum :D
6:45 end result

Thanks for comment man, and that's a great tip actually.

@@carldubcats3385 Alt+shift+click to change that without bothering to go to the matrix ;)
Awesome!

TOM YOU ARE AWESOME BRO ! THANKS
Great video, thanks for posting.
simple and great! thanks!
why does env 2 have sustain at 100? doesn't it mean that the filter should start moving only after the midi ends?
Nice one
Turn the mix down a up a little bit at least 70% for me...didn't sound as loud with the filter on
I have Caustic 3.2 which is also a DAW. It has SERUM (aka FMSynth).
completely irrelevant, but cool
