Been watching every video on the e-208 I could find. Very pleasently surprised by this video and the audio review, because the speakers never got mentioned in other reviews. Thanks a bunch! :)
Having test driven a GT Premium today I'd completely disagree with your assessment of the interior. I personally love it and the performance and handling was agile and sporty. While not perfect as based on a modified ICE chassis, it's still very good.
Peugeot just increased the range of the e-208 to 225 miles. In Denmark where I live you can get the e-208 for £26400 while the ID-3 for £38800. The difference of £12400 for me is quite a lot. At the moment I'm leaning towards buying a e-208 or the Opel corsa-e.
It is hands down the most acceptable looking eletric vehicle on its price range (around 30k euro). Also, I have driven a GT e-208, and it is a great drive.
What about the cooling system of this particular model? I mean, what kind of cooling system it has on its battery? Especially from a tropical country it can get quite hot and I believe the battery would compensate its range for such thing. And also, does the battery degrade faster in hot weather condition? Thanks.
I can not understand why you repeatedly compare this car to the VW ID 3, which costs £8000 more. Who goes out to buy a car with that kind of price range in mind?
As per our written review, at the time of filming: "The e-208 starts from £27,225" [...] "the well-rounded VW ID.3 from £30,935" Thus, at the time, £3,710; hope that clears things up.
Do not understand why the carmakers are making SUVs or CSUVs insead of smaller lighter vehicles. Peugeot has listen to what the customers want or rather do not want. They do not want bizzare looking cars with elevated body like they were pumped up with the air pump that are heavy and unefficient. 208e is what it should be, they need to work on the price and not rely on federal grants to sell it. The value for this car is around 15k dollars. There are much less parts compared to an ICE and the higher prices cannot be justified unless they are looking to make up for the losses in the past years. Customer would not bare the costs even indirectly by federal grants.
All these new cars come with a centre arm which is a pain in the backside because it makes it difficult to plug in the seatbelt. I would much prefer if they didn’t bother with that part of the Centre in these cars.
Thanks for the review,,, Not sure now which to go with the e-208 or a Kona electric premium (39kw) ? is the Kona really worth that higher asking price ?
If electric cars are to flourish then the range needs to be greater and the price lower. The Zoe is making more progress but doesn't feel as premium inside to my eyes. I'd like to see models with fewer toys and put the money into better range.
I never understand why car journalists moan about the lack of leg or head room in a small car. Firstly it's a small car. Secondly. As an adult, when was the last time you had to sit in the back of a car. Literally, hardly ever unless it's in a taxi.
Oh indeed, the Kona EV (larger battery pack) is an excellent choice for those who want to move into a smaller sized SUV - we had its range tested at 260 miles, up from the Nissan's 200 miles.
That is a good looking car but I wouldn’t buy an EV that looks exactly the same as the smelly ICE. Also Koreans and Stellantis both excel at car interiors that are lower quality than the exterior looks promise
@@TotallyEV at least on par with the Zoe, I've herd the Zoe can do 210-235 miles and this one is Very juicy it's supposed to do 217 miles most uk road uses haven't seen that figure more so close to 130- 170, While the Zoe 245 range can be closer to that figure, I'd love the looks of this car with the Zoe batteries on this. Or something like that :) 170 range isn't that bad Tbh but I expect better I think the Zoe has the sweet spot.
@@Chappers.Gaming indeed, we had the Zoe (R135) tested at 200 miles (likewise with the Leaf), while the ID.3 achieved 230 miles. Agreed with your assessment there, too! :)

The look is subjective, but glad you like it.
Same here, the interior in the GT is absolutely epic. This car in overall is better than the Tesla model 3. Absolutely unit of a car for the price.
That’s because you’re not being paid to criticise it 😉
The e208 just got some significant upgrades: 156bhp engine and another 52kwh battery....plus the shifter is no longer that big lever...

That's a massive difference, wow! At the time of the review, the ID.3 was pretty much the same price as the e-208.
@@TotallyEV Same in the Netherlands, the ID.3 is much pricier than the e-208!
😮
@@viora_ supply and demand will always drive prices up.
For that price I would definitely go for the e-208 or the Kia e- Soul. The Smart#1 might also worth a look.
I would probably go for the Peugeot over the competition as I like the conventional hatchbacks over SUV styled cars
Intriguing to know how you think the Renault Zoe, Nissan Leaf, and VW ID.3 look like SUVs?
It is hands down the most acceptable looking eletric vehicle on its price range (around 30k euro). Also, I have driven a GT e-208, and it is a great drive.
It is indeed a very stylish car from the exterior. Glad you enjoyed driving it!
This has to be one of the best looking EVs from the outside
Probably because it does not look like a regular EV...
so is it the 208, 2008 or the leaf????

@@TotallyEV so not in the same size or price bracket and therefore not relevant!!🤦♂️
Can't see how the above isn't relevant nor similar in price?
@helipeek being obtuse a £3k difference isn’t significant at time of press

Anyone know if Peugeot use a LFP battery in the e208 and e2008?
Not sure!
Great review. Thanks!

Never had a problem myself with that - most can slide back and forth though!
If you get it in black, the wheel arches don't look too in-your-face plastic trim since they're painted to match the bodywork.
Very true!
Amazing review the price of the vehicle is very attractive it will flourish in the Indian market if the company will start an opening in India
Thanks for sharing, and glad you liked the review!
Both this and the VW i3 on my company car list. Prefer the way this looks but hmm
For the range, would definitely suggest the ID.3, but agreed, the design of the e-208 is easier on the eyes!
id3 is the golf size, polo is the e208 size....u compare 2 different categories...
And does a VW Polo equivalent-sized EV exist right now? No. They're not different categories either - hatchback EV at around £30k.
Thanks for the review,,, Not sure now which to go with the e-208 or a Kona electric premium (39kw) ? is the Kona really worth that higher asking price ?
