Hi. Do you still live there? It's super difficult to get seeds or plants here in Europe. I would love to try to grow mine. Would it be possible for you to post me some seeds? Thank you!:)
Thank you so much for mentioning the party about chemotherapy! it sold me to get my own plant, my mum is going through it and she needs anything to help her eat!
Why are these fruits not sold in health stores instead of the diet pills that are harmful? I think these are one of the best superfood out there along with Moringa plants.
@@michelletemple9970 I will try to grow them. I love a challenge especially with gardening. So much fun and even more better eating things we grow ourselves which is organic.
I took some miracle fruit from my local garden center (they’ve never carried this plant before to my knowledge). We just tried your experiment with the lemon and my whole family is just astonished! What a fun little experiment! Just like you described, it had a little tang but tasted like a deliciously sweet orange or such. I am definitely going back to the garden center and buying the plant. I want my friends at work to experience this cool berry. 😁❤️
It's amazing that you should have a video about miracle fruit. I have been watching and love your mango videos. The amazing thing is that I lived in Tema Ghana for approximately 6 yrs of my life. I lived there with my family when my father worked for Kaiser Aluminum. I was a young teen during this period. The amazing thing is that this is where I fell in love with mangos! Until we moved there, I had never tasted a mango. it quickly became and still is my favorite fruit. They had several different varieties. I liked every single one of them! I am now diving in lock, stock and barrel to trying to grow mangos, and now miracle fruit. Your videos have truly inspired me, I am currently 55yrs old and live in Louisiana, so I guess I got some good mango growing years ahead of me. Thanks again for your videos and inspiration.
Just got one of these and it had two little fruit on it. Blew my mind testing things like yellow passionfruit that's usually very tart and my home made spicy dill pickles. Can't wait for more it's going to be a fun party trick.
Questions: 1. Do you chew the seeds or just the fruit? 2. Would a black coffee taste sweet if i eat this before drinking? 3. Can it be propagated by cuttings?
Just eat the flesh, not the seed. It takes a very small amount of fruit to get the effect. We only grow it from seed. ...don't know what coffee would taste like after eating the fruit
As far as I know, it hasn't been studied extensively. The sale of Miracle Fruit products in some countries is banned in some countries... not because of known hazards, but because of the lack of research.

great video, thanks! I wonder if this will also make durian tastes more palatable for certain people (my guess is not because it blocks sour and salt receptors)?
I picked up a miracle berry plant in September and It looked great. I live in Vegas and the temperatures got below 40 degrees and I noticed the tips of all the leaves got crispy and brown. I have since pulled it inside and will put it back outside on nice days. What should I do as far as pruning it? Do I just let it be or should I trim it way back? Thank you for the great videos! By the way I am currently growing a Phoenix and a cotton candy mango that I picked up in September as well.
I would just leave the leaves on the plant. The green parts of the leaves are keeping the plant active. Miracle Fruit is one plant that I seldom trim. When I do, I tend to eliminate whole branches or parts of branches.
My miracle fruit tree has two ripe berries on it, I'm so happy Oh I didn't understand that part about it being beneficial to people who are about to get a colonoscopy what is that about, how does it help them?
I notice this tree is short, but old enough to have a thick trunk. why was it cut so short? Mine is yellow, and tall, and grumpy, makes COPIOUS flowers (enough to make the entire area smell like gardenia), but drops fruit near the bottom and top. its driving me crazy.
Not really. The idea is to coat your tongue with the miraculin from the miracle fruit and then eat other things you want to taste as sweet. It temporarily changes the way you taste foods. Also, miracle fruit has a rather large seed that wouldn't be great in a bowl of mixed berries.
Our experience is that as miracle fruit plants get older (10 years and beyond), they produce more fruit. We NEVER have a shortage of miracle fruit when our plants are fruiting.
@@TrulyTropical Thanks for your reply.. I have my plants inside the cricket shed for the winter. If it is never totally dark in the cricket shed will that hinder fruit development. Yes I am a Cricket Breeder...
