- The Cream classic from the late 60s, translated into simple blues harmonica riffs, then performed by Adam Gussow as a one-man band.
If you'd like to learn how to play blues harmonica, Gussow has 200+ free video tutorials on UA-cam and a whole lot more stuff at Modern Blues Harmonica:

If you're looking for a modestly-priced "total harmonica experience" this spring, think about making the pilgrimage to the North Mississippi hill country for Hill Country Harmonica:

Respect from Holland ............
I just discovered, right this moment, that you'd done a third-position version last fall. Dang! You beat me to the punch. It fits nicely in third!
love your performance Adam, some real raw energy which is what the blues is all about! absolutely killer tone
Met Adam Gusso at edinburgh 2016 harmonica weekend and he blew me away - I play guitar
Excellent! Thankyou so much Adam! Great performance!

Adam...
Ah-Ha! Harp Instruction for Classic Rock!!! THANK YOU... THANK YOU... THANK YOU.
Did I say, "Thank You"?
"Big Al" Robinson here... your Classic Rock Harp Junkie...
Man... you had to throw in that overblow... eh? Can we hit that 4 Chord riff somewhere else up on the middle or top end UNTIL we learn out to get that overblow down?
More Harp for Classic Rock!
More Cowbell!
Sounds awesome Adam, love your playing on this one..
A reference you made in closing during your last series of videos, in part: "those who cant do, teach." As I remember, you mentioned wanting to spend time learning more, and doing less with the instruction. You showed us some CD's you were in awe of....Its good that youre taking the time to do that. So glad you decided to keep the camera on during this transition, Adam. Good stuff!!!! (damn the high notes)
wow i was surprised that i was able to just do that riff as soon as listening to it, i also learnt it on the guitar. Cheers adam i wouln't have thought to do a riff like that.
@xraylax: Au contraire. I never play amped up like that, in the livingroom, while Missus Gussow is at home. I wait until she's gone to work.
Excellent. Loved it
awesome Adam
I'm impressed with your playing. You are just amazing. I play a little bit harmonica and your lessons are trully hellpfull. All the best from Serbia!
Excellent! You continue to inspire me.
Adam, you are great (great being an understatement). One Complaint, I got rejected for being a member in your site! I aint no pirate mate...just a fellow harper!
This is such an awesome lesson and arrangement. I finally have the overblow down on the 4th hole, but it took a freakin' long time and some effort to learn how to do it.
Always great to see new videos from you, man.
GREAT AS ALWAYS !!!!!
Dude so awesome! Enjoying your book now too.
this is one of my favorites. thank you very much! I will try (without the drum, sorry...) ;))
Great! Didn't know you could sing that good.
Thanks again Adam.
see you.
Steph.
I love it, Adam.
thanks a lot.
:)
holy macaroni! Great harmonica & vocals version
Great lesson, Thank for sharing!
damn that was great.. adam!!
I'm watching this on and on....more than original version;)
Wow man! Tremendous!
I think I'll add the cowbell this summer, when the Mississippi sun makes me sweat.
Thank you! In 3rd pos it´s easy to play the fat riff, but your version in 2nd pos is a killer version especially with your melodic solo. I think also it could be nice to alternate 2nd and 3rd pos
Brilliant......
Fabulous!!
This is great.
Very cool...
You know, one of the things I love most in the hamonica is how it can do the guitar´s role in some songs. This is an exemple of it!
Hehe "famous Gussow blue third"... (03:14) now you are putting your name on the harmonicas´s notes, haha let´s see if it sticks!
You are the best thing i've found on this here youtube so far. I know i've said it before and I say it again, when i get my hands on some money (poor student). Im gonna buy "Satans diciple" was that the name of the book?
Hello, at first I would like to say that your songs are awesome as well as your covers. Started learning harmonica a short time ago and I find it really hard (probably because I am incredibly untalented). I am curious if you have a version of "Sunshine of..." without the drums or even an unamplified one? The same question about "crossroads blues". I would really like to hear the song with pure harmonica and the drum overvolumes it. Couldn't find anything except the short beginning of this video.
Amazing
G'day Mr Adam, great stuff. My mid-life "crisis" is to learn blues harmonica. I watched some of your lessons and the urge was irresistible, so I bought a Marine Band (C) on Friday and am getting somewhere. What a joy!
I'm finding that all that sucking is quite unusual for me (esp. as I was a trumpet player in my teens). For example, on the opening riff to Sunshine of Your Love, I'm wanting to blow 3 rather than suck 2 on the final note of the riff. Any advice or just practice practice practice?
Ahhhh, Clapton, Baker and Bruce - - Gussow Style. Tasty, very tasty... and that's a mere peek at all the possible "going's-on" during Hill Country Harmonica in May!
See y'all there!!
Its Great!!! Can you say second part's tabs please🙏🙏🙏
12 bar blues. If I'm not mistaken you need a 4 overblow in the 5th bar which is one of the trickier overblows.
muito interessante!
Smart man!
Hey - I didn't realize i had to get my legs in shape to play harmonica -- that is some performance and a great workout in addition. Where can you get a drum setup like that?
Excellent and fun, as always. What kind of drum setup is that?
Hey Kudzu,
great video!! I was wondering where your wife and kids were while your doing that?? It seems late at night... did you wake up the neighbourhood??
Hey Adam, you know where I can find a riff to Rainy Night in GA.? Sure would like to hear you on that.
Your neighbors must love you.
Still, sweet song.
Adam, you're not Mr. Satan, but you're the man. 😃
That is also a pretty good vocal!
thanks, thanks, thanks.....
Holy shit!!!!!!
Top Man;
@bladeican: Doh. I hate to be the one to break it to you but.....guitars are amplified, too. It's called.....electric blues. It's been going on for about 70 years. Google "Little Walter." Google "amplified harmonica." It's a big, bad world out there.
Hallo Adam, please can you tell me if the Harmonica sound good when the tune goes like: (-4D,-4D,+4C,-3``A,-3```Ab,-2G, -4D,-5F-4D,(-1 -4) (-1 -4) (+1 +4) (-1 -4 ) ....
-3``A..I`ve been waiting so long...(Please can you TAB down this verse? Keep it up and Thanks for helpin me (Swizz Harper)
Круто!!! 👍
I don't know if you do requests but if you do: Is it possible to play the riff from Iron Butterfly's "Anna Gadda da Vida" on a diatonic?
Dino Goldie possible to play anything on a diatonic.
bad ass
which is the tone of harmony?
plis..
very nice !
Anybody watching this during the quarantine?
Yeh
You sound like somebody who needs to spend $150 and attend Hill Country Harmonica for two magical days in the rolling hills of North Mississippi. I promise that I WILL let you jam with me--and we'll do this song, if you want.
