Superb performance, of course. My gripe is with the stage management personnel who have obscured Dame Shirley's mouth in this televised event by the unsuitable positioning of her microphone. Yes she has always been a' microphone artiste', but on important occasions such as this, the microphone should have been placed so as not to hide her face and mouth, whilst she is doing amazing things. We all want to see her face and comportment so the microphone should have played a subordinate role here. Black marks to the theatre staff and whoever else may have been involved.
