No one here probably speaks mongolian other than the band but who cares when the sound rocks!
mongolian here!
I want to bottle this sound and inject in in my veins!
Mongols invented bowed instruments. Even today, all the orchestras in the world use Mongolian mare's tails. Mongolian throat singing traditions are the original "Heavy Metal" vocal style. They embody the sounds of the steppes and the ancient Empire of the Horse. They have hypnotic rhythms like the plains Indians, and are distantly related to the Dineh' tribe now living between the four sacred mountains in Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah.
Lawrence de Martin wow you know about Mongolia . I’m so proud your knowledge ❤️
I know so little about Mongolia, considering its historical and cultural importance. My education was so full of American exceptionalism and Euro-centricity. White people have such hard time admitting they are derivative culture that owes so much to Asia and Africa where civilization started. At least I can admit my ignorance and awe. Music communicate more directly. I can hear it in this band.
@@LawrencedeMartin except... that's not true. First Mongols did not invent bowed instruments, that would actually be silly given bowed instruments existed in antiquity Europe, Rome, Greece, Egypt (yeah, well, Europe-ish). Among others. Actually, bowed instruments could be as old as prehistory, with cave paintings found representing them. That's probably, like flute or string instruments in general, and obviously percussions, a common invention to all of humanity, because once you try to do music (and every human community tries to do so one day or another) then these are pretty simple and quick to come.
Second the bows from world's orchestra actually come from various sources, and if Mongolian is one of the major ones, it seems Siberian (so yes probably from turco-mongolian tribes but not mongol mares per se) would be the best one, or at least one of the best, and one of the major used too. There is also polish and argentinian sources.
Finally (the last part I won't say anything, I'm ignorant about native americans mostly, except meso-americans civilisations, more appealing to me) Mongolian throat-singing isn't the (only) source to metal singing. It's a more generic trend of throat-singing in old Norse and Eastern civilisations like Norse, Slavs and so on. Something about producing an outerworld impression.
And to add to your last message, yes Europeans are often self-centered, as are actually every other culture, except for the historically dominated ones. If you don't know about it, Chinese or Japanese cultures are notorious for considering themselves as superior to any other. A lot like western culture, without the inspiration/appropriation we made a specialty of.
Anyway the truth is Western culture did invent a lot of things, adapted others, and transformed a lot of things. Sometimes we did so inspired by proto-inventions from other cultures (like with the compass or the gun). Sometimes, those cultures are just as much part of our ancestors as they are of others (as with the saddle actually, a Mesopotamian creation, Mesopotamia being modern Iraq/Syria and such, and the origin of phoenicians and greeks and therefore modern western civilisation, as much as persian civilisation).
Also, note that if middle-eastern, more eastern, and north african civilisations indeed inspired western, the opposite is also true. We exported printing on a large scale, a lot of navigation advances, and of course christianity (and with it monotheism), among other things. Cultures in contact with each other influence each other, and there is rarely an inferior one really destroyed by the other. They most often melt and merge progressively, to a certain point.
So wrong and so right
Even the Tibetan Buddhists monk does the throat praying but not like the heavy metal... This is awesome...Thumbs up
台湾粉絲喜歡、嗨起來。🤟🤟🤟💖👍💖🇹🇼🤟

When your ancestors in your warrior bloodline starts bringing out the primal side of you.
Save southern Mongolia being oppressed by the Chinese government
Let their culture never die
Fun fact when Mongols was fighting against manchu and chan kai shi in Mongolia, inner mongolians left us and fled to china. Now they're annexed, there must be very few real mongolian in inner mongolia. North mongols, khalkha, borjigon, bayd, fought bravely and defeated chan kai shi's china ( today's taiwan ) north mongols fought two wars in only peroid of 20 years, in 1939 fought against imperial japanese kwantun army and won, where was inner mongolians at that moment? Hiding in their little shacks. If you ask me theres only one pure blood mongols left and thats outer mongolia.
These guys are just so fucking good live. I LOVE IT!
I seriously want them to release This is The Mongol as a single. I love that song!
