Been on a binge of late-middle school/early-high school bands tonightl. Falling Up, Mae, Nevertheless, Anberlin, A Thorn for Every Heart, Underoath, Sense Fail, etc.. THESE POOR KIDS THESE DAYS WILL NEVER EXPERIENCE WHAT WE EXPERIENCED.
+Aiden Millar my old youth pastor helped them with their demo, we used to hold their concerts at our church. I can't believe how long ago it was already lol
So proud to be from the same state as these guys. Had the privilege of opening for them and Kutless in Beaverton, OR. One of the best shows I've ever been a part of, and probably always will be. Just wish they'd stuck around a little longer with this sound. Still gives me goosebumps to this day...this record and Dawn Escapes.
I didn’t know they wrote this…….this hit me in a way I really enjoy……knowing they were the ones that wrote it…….makes me all that more happier…..timeless…..really touches the soul….”And ye shall seek me and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13
@@DavidRRR946 Same. The third album was just to experimental for me and that is when I stopped listening to newer music from them. Though not my favorite band in this style around this time (gotta give that up to Ivoryline for that), their first two albums were great.
The lead singer explained in an interview that his band mates lost passion, and wanted to do something else, and the studio wanted more music, so they gave him random musicians, and he made more songs that he said "was just a studio album"
I went to high school with the head singer. His name is Jesse. He went to South Albany High School in Albany, Oregon. We had bible study group at school called Youth Alive. Jesse and I both attended. He gave an awsome testamony about meeting a boy that wanted to blow up the school. He talked the boy out of it.
My divorce hit me so hard this weekend I just couldn’t! It took me hours of listening to this album and just listening to their words that brought me to my feet.
Falling Up, what a platform yall had. Encouraging those awake and warning those still asleep. Jesus' light shined through yall...The evolution of yalls style was a joy to hear. Epic!!
So need Gospel but you wanted to in different tune. Falling up is there for your eargasmic. 2020 must be cruel but we have still beautiful music to listen back to calm the sadness
I seen these guys at there album release party in like 2004 for the release of there first album. They went hard and one of them blew up there amp. Met all of them through a guy I went to church with that knew them and another artist named Shawn McDonald
These guys have a cool sound honestly would mind joining a band like this they just all play in tune with each other it carries a unique sound it's different than those commercial bands when they throw a bunch of professionals together and make a group out of it, and it's because they were all friends before If only I had a friend group like this growing up man I got a buddy that I've played with for years but it's hard starting something when no one else is committed to starting something nowadays y'all got lucky man don't stop take full advantage of that It's a gift from God..
This song used to be really overplayed on TVU and I hated it but it feels great to come back to a song that I haven't heard in so long that was a really big part to my past, even if it's a big part for all the wrong ways lol.
It interesting to go back to this song here and there. Falling Up's last album sounds almost nothing like their first; which most likely came from changes in musical direction and growth. This song however, almost fits across their entire discography. Super catchy and creative mixing. The guitar and drums impress me the most, the have this weird kinda mathy vibe. Such a great band, deserved way more coverage than the christian contemporary scene. RIP ❤️
seeing this video back in i believe 7th grade (ive graduated high school now) made me want to grow my hair out like Jesse's and still have yet to cut my hair short again. one of my longtime favorite rock bands
one of the MOST under-rated bands of all time
True...
Legit. Rhese dudes were so tight and so talented. Yet I don't personally know anyone who has even heard of them :(
Should have stfu and played . victim of a shitty label.
And you need to get out more.
These dudes not rhese dudes @@ZeeroDubs
You listen to songs like this growing up and years later they trigger tons of memories
I know right and now it's 10 years ago
This make me feel old..
I was well into my 20s and it still does it
Especially this one
Hello 2023. 😬
I can't be the only person that like Falling Up's style of the singing style and the drumming patterns combined, not just this song.
This is the kind of Christian rock I love
I love Falling Up! Still listening to them 9 years later :)
*Update: 17 years later 🗿
+Aiden Millar my old youth pastor helped them with their demo, we used to hold their concerts at our church. I can't believe how long ago it was already lol

What's your band?
Captiva has some good stuff, definitely when they started going more experimental, but still enough hard rock for me to enjoy.
That's awesome
Bands from this era brought me to God ❤️❤️❤️

Geez. Why am I 10 years late on finding this?
I guess it's better late than never 😊
I love Falling Up's first two albums. I wish they wouldn't have changed their sound and miss the old days! At least they still sing for God!
Totally agree with you

Bands and music like this never last. They hit a certain age and that's it for them.
I seen these guys at there album release party in like 2004 for the release of there first album. They went hard and one of them blew up there amp. Met all of them through a guy I went to church with that knew them and another artist named Shawn McDonald
