I'm not even really into offroad builds but this is starting to give me the itch. Especially with all the knowledge getting handed to us. Keep it up guys. And thank you
Desert/prerunner dudes that I've met were obsessed with this weird ass front suspension. Complications adding lift aside, they handle high speed bumps exceptionally well and take a real beating
Better then a-arms I have twin i beams on my 2wd trail rig the suspension has massive articulation and eats the shock up and keeps you having a tire pretty much always on the ground
@@alecmclennan1093 I had torsion beams and A arms on my Montero... Really good steering compared to the D44 in the front of my Jeep now, but holy moly was it bad whenever things got too uneven offroad.
So curious as I need to replace my daily (Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ 4.0l 2wd automatic) and having grown up in a Ford family, as well as having had some solid ones when I was younger, I was curious if this era Explorer are worth it? I know the 4 door V8 ones from the early 2000s are known for engine troubles and the 5 speed autos going out (which is what's wrong with my WJ), so would it be advantageous for me to get the 2 door sport 4x4 V6 manual?
the bump stop needs to engage BEFORE the shaft runs out of travel so you dont bottom out the shock...that one is like way too close Id add a spacer the bump stop
Dude this thing is gonna need some power cause the Jeep has some power for damn sure and I don't think this could shred .... and I voted for you so POWERRRRRR
The jeep has more low end grunt this might keep pace if it's high speed it will be able to handle the close together bumps due to the suspension setup with the twin traction beams benefiting over the straight axle
What a laugh. Angle finder = level, straightedge, ruler, calculator with trig function if degrees are needed. Laugh 2 ) Bumpsteer on one side makes bumpsteer on both sides. Duh? Get a brain.

Pro tip from a mechanical design engineer: play billiards to train your eyes to see the geometry that is not always obvious
