I always check for the 1983 copper wrong planchet in my rolls, but I've never heard of a copper 2009! Great hunt Rob!

A year or so ago I got all 8 of the 2009 Lincoln years cents (P and D mints) in BU in satin finish. .all 3.10 grams. In the same roll... customer wrapped.

I found a Satin finish 2009 cent (Formative Years) last November. First spotted it by the thicker edge, thought maybe it's a proof, but no, not a proof, but definitely a different color than zinc, so checked the weight and sure enough, 3.16g
After watching this video I decided to check my 2009 pennies and I found ONE! thanks!

Wow! That 2009 copper cent was a cool find.
I found two 2023VDB-V’s in my $10 penny bag on May 1st. Didn’t notice them until May 9. Lots of them up here in Vermont.

Those satin cents only come in the 2009 mint sets deff NIFC. I'm so happy to own a set. They are beautiful. Someone ripped into a mint set.
The 2009 mint sets had a satin finish. Including the copper cents!
The NIFC 2009 cent is kool.
I do check the weight of my my 82's and 83's - but I rarely check the 09's - I guess I should start doing that as well. I only check the 09's for the extra finger variety. Another sweet hunt with all of those S-minted wheaties - and another great video!

So, I searched 2 boxes of nickels today (some last night) and as I'm going through the 2nd box I start wondering if I'm ever going to find a silver nickel. Never found one before. And today I found not one, not Two, but THREE! 3 Silvers in the Same Box! Finally able to plug 2 into a book and one duplicate into a tube. Great feeling too after getting a short roll that had a penny.
That's a rarity.Dont expect that in every box.

Ah, I see it now. I just ordered a satin finished copper set for my type set album. Slowly filling the type set album. Good upgrade over the 2009 uncirculated zincs I have. Thank you for the info!

Why so many
I feel like somebody is going to have to fill me in on 1983 copper pennies. I already knew about copper 2009 cents and that 1982 was a copper to zinc transition year but I've never even heard about any 1983 coppers so what's going on with that? I consider myself fairly well versed in coin roll hunting although I've never properly done it myself but I do have a lot of information stored about it.

My latest penny box hunt last week. I found 160 wheat cents with 1 Indian head and 4 Canadians. One is a 1940. The earliest date wheat cent i found is the 1909 vdb. Unfortunately it wasn't the s vdb but it is still a good find. I already have atleast 5 vdbs. The box is from my home state Illinois. The box came from the usual bank i go to. The box is not ordinary. Someone cashed in a penny hoard. Most likely a relatives penny hoard.

I was searching a box of nickels while watching the coin roll hunting vid`s today. I found a rotated die 1992 D in Unc. I`ve been searching coins for fifty years and this is a first. Rotated die`s on modern coins is very rare.
Cool, what percentage of rotation would you give it?

Another fellow Sacramento area coin roll hunter I see. Recognized those blue stamps. I miss my California boxes, however I do get quite a few S mint marks in Idaho as well.
