Never quite understood the reasoning behind hardcore hardtails. On a hardtail I would value pop and playfulness over monster truck capability. If I want to monster truck rock gardens I have an enduro bike for that.
I am 5' 7" and decided to order the small. 420mm reach is perfect for me and the small has 418mm chainstays with a MX setup because the rear wheel is 27.5. They recommend a medium for my height, but whenever I am between sizes I always go for the small because I love my bikes to be playful. We will see and I am curious how my impressions/review of this bike will be coming from the upper midwest instead of the PNW which are two drastically different styles of riding and terrain.
I think reviewing a Stanton Switch9r(steel and ti) and Pace RC429(steel) hardtails could show you nice riding models in the hardcore hardtails category. Total weight coming in at similar weight to the hardtail in these field tests. There is also the IBS DV9 down country carbon hardtail that would be awesome to review also. Frames starts at $1300(less when on sale, which I feel it always is), which honestly is reasonable for an Ibis carbon frame.
Lower price for similar component spec, lighter frame, more efficient pedaling. Hardtails are usually more fun to pop and mess around on too, and are great for teaching good technique for someone who is just learning
It's the Saguaro 2, which is pretty expensive at $1800. The 1, which is on "sale" for $3k has a Fox 36. You can probably just buy a 2 and replace the fork and recoup some money by selling the Z2.
It is not nice the way Dario talks with the throat. He wasn't talking like that when he first came to Pinkbike. Yes, it gives him a very unique personality. But he is part of a highly professional team. Misplacing his voice lowers the quality of the program. Needless to say that I am a faithful subscriber.
I liked Levy and Kaz together and enjoyed it when they added Alicia. It has sucked since. Birth control glasses and stash guy is the worst. Makes the Brit seem like he has a personality. This review was borderline unwatchable.
This bike shoulda been steel, 27.5, and jibby. Who tf is in charge at haro? They make road bikes now? Seems like they’re owned by some gigantic sporting goods conglomerate

I have the Tranz X dropper lever and have had zero issues with the design. My left thumb is also double jointed, so it fits perfectly. 🤷🏻♂️

Pink bike on Pinkbike
I'm not a fan of pink bikes, but this one works. I would definitely buy one for the color alone. MTB colorways are supposed to be fun anyway.

The Haro sounds like it's too stiff, and too heavy. The San Quentin sounds like a way nicer bike to ride.

This is about $600-$1000 overpriced. Hopefully Haro plans to sell this on major deals, because who would find this bike as the one to buy at $2400???
