OMG I laughed so hard! You all are so funny! I don't think any vegan really likes the trick or treat part of Halloween, because it is what it is, but, knowing that we can have our candy, and no animal was abused for it, is so rewarding, so thank you all so much for your valued awareness, and making us aware of what candies we can eat. That being said, you know some raw vegans out there, are going to be passing out fruit for Halloween! ...the look on those kids faces, when they get a shiny piece of fruit for trick or treating...haha, it's a trick and a treat! Happy Halloween! 😂🎃

I placed my own list of vegan halloween treats on my personal website (under 'articles' - specifically 9-24-23 - it's too long to list here). The thing is that I do prefer my list - because I reduced the cane sugar, artificial dyes, corn syrup, palm oil, chocolate, coffee, etc. as much as possible - to be inspirational for years to come! Each year - I learn more about vegan halloween snacks and hope to add to my list.
this was a great video - it got me thinking and pushing and I finally realized yet another treat I was missing on my list - instant oatmeal packets! What was I thinking? I found another one - granola. Yay - I added 2 more to the list!

Bone char, which is used to process white sugar, is made from the bones of cattle...
oh definitely! But brands like free2b say they're vegan. Maybe their sugar isn't processed by cattle. Not every cane sugar is! If you find out they used bone char - let me know. Me personally - it's the deforestation that's also a problem! But the sugar can be grown in the desert too - so if it is - no big deal. Then again - why not just strive to eat date sugar?

While on the surface all of this might look vegan - there's some that if you look deeper, it doesn't appear to be. I know that the vegan view doesn't strive for perfection - but I do! No judgment, just opinion. I personally don't believe swedish fish would be vegan - simply because it's in the shape of a fish and you're eating it. Not to mention that the internet says red 40 was tested on animals. So it's healthier and more vegan to avoid artificial colors. Opt for the popcorn, chips, and pretzels instead - you know? Corn syrup is something I also avoid - because they give the corn remnants to cattle as feed and give the syrup to us. Not healthy and more vegan to avoid it. Need I mention palm oil and skittles?!
However - I do agree with smart sweets - that one appears to be vegan to me too. Free2b is in the middle - simply because of the cane sugar - of which we know has been contributing to deforestation, no matter how little it seems in comparison to cattle - it's still enough to speak about.
