If you are looking to cover the whole cake as well I would recommend having at least 2.5 lbs of fondant. I use Wilton fondant which comes in 1.5lb & 5lb boxes and you can find an Amazon affiliate link in the description box below for it, if you would like to purchase some to use.
I really enjoyed this video. It reminds me of the paw patrol cake. By the way I also love Rosanna Pansino. I also am subscribed to her. This is how I figured out your channel from a comment on one of her videos.
Just add a few small dabs of water to the back of the fondant so it becomes tacky. For the nose I also used a toothpick to help hold some of the weight. Hope this helps!🥰
I’ve been searching and found stencil images and templates online. I don’t know if that’s where she got them but im going to give it a try since I need it for tomorrow.
I didn’t have a “stencil” persay, I just found a picture of his face that I liked and was able to use that to create stencils for his eyes, ears, etc. Here’s a link to the picture I used for reference. images.app.goo.gl/QxMkdv3jxJiWEFGF8
This looks amazing. Can you tell me which buttercream and crumb coat recipe you used please? Also how thick to roll the fondant and how many grams you used. I'm totally new to baking but I'm attempting this for my daughter's 6th birthday!
Hi! Thanks for your comment! It was a basic American buttercream recipe. I just added about 3-4 tbsp of sifted cocoa and an extra Tbsp of water or milk. As for the fondant, I don't really measure or weigh it, I just kind of eye it, maybe 1/8 of an inch thick. I use Wilton fondant, if you buy 2 small boxes that should be more than enough. I think there is 1.5lbs in each box.
That's brilliant thank you. Do you use the buttercream on the outside as well as inbetween the layers? I am such a beginner and in England and I got confused with the term crumb coat 😆 how far in advance should i prepare this? I have bought renshaws ready to roll fondant. Hope this will be ok and not too soft? Can I use this for the mouth too or do I need a different kind of fondant. Sorry for all the questions, I think my scooby doo is going to be the saddest looking scooby doo ever seen. 😂
@@soniawinter7397 it's no trouble at all I'm happy to help! Yes buttercream in the layers and on the outside (that outside layer is the crumb coat) let set in fridge for about 20-30 mins then cover with fondant. You can use the same kind of fondant for the whole thing. If you find your fondant too sticky use cornstarch and if it's too dry (which I doubt will be an issue since it's fresh) use a tiny amount of shortening (aka Trex)
Sorry, my stencils are usually one shot deals because they are just made from paper. I need to start scanning them and sharing them in the description.
Hey am a new to your channel please can you send me the pattern that you use for the face of scooby doo( ear, the goofy chin, eyes, eyebrow, my son likes scooby doo too much and I want to make this cake for him.please.thank in advance

You’re so creative! 👏👏👏
I appreciate that! Thanks for the compliment 😁
Hi. How did you get the snout and eyes to stick to the side of the cake?
Just add a few small dabs of water to the back of the fondant so it becomes tacky. For the nose I also used a toothpick to help hold some of the weight. Hope this helps!🥰
This looks amazing. Can you tell me where to get the stencil you used for the face.

Just find your channel and love your cakes.
Awe, thanks! 😊
I'm so happy you like it! ❤️
How many does this feed
This was a double barrel 6”(4 layers) so anywhere from 16-24 ppl.
When I put fondant on my cakes out of the fridge the outside of the fondant gets sticky! Should I wait for it to come to room temp?
Yes it will get sticky so I only refrigerate if it’s very warm and I work fast, lol, but you can allow it to crust over at room temp if you prefer.

@@audreychristy9686 your very welcome!
Hi, where do you get the cake recipes from? My daughter Jasmine finds your cakes delicious
I like to try different ones all the time! I have a few favorite bakers on UA-cam who’s recipes are to die for!
I did too and I named my dog Scooby Doo but sadly he passed away and went to heaven He was a white fluffy dog
That’s so sad to hear😢
I’m sorry for the loss of your doggie.
Do you sell cakes?!
Mostly for friends and family. I make them for my channel ❤️
Hold on are you talking about the famous one on UA-cam
Do you mean Rosanna Pansino? If so, yes! I love her work! Her channel is one of my favourites! She is definitely a huge inspiration!
I am opsest with Scooby Doo
He’s pretty cute!
