India is indeed a Tax king both for imports and in income tax but majority of the population live free of direct tax. Because taxing them will lead to vote loss.

even the richest state per capita wise, the ppl only make 5 lakhs per year, and most dont make 10k per month. whereas countries like USA, the per capita is 50 lakh per annum.
10,000 mae 5 litre petrol dal dega toh 250-300 taxes hi hojayenge, then indirect taxes on its highest already, gst on each and everything. Even US is giving petrol at around 110 something, where citizens are making like 5 lakh per month, and in india ppl making nothing and still giving same amounts because the govt doesnt seem to think about how they have the highest excise in the world

@@nihalgupta725 About 4% of Indians pay direct tax. That amount is equal to indirect tax paid by 100% of the population. I think it was Subramanian Swamy who said direct tax should be zero for everyone. I think it should be everyone except Limited Liability Companies.

There are so many politicians and farmers who get free electricity, water and subsidised fertilizers. Despite being millionaires and billionaires, the salaried class which is poorer than them is subsidising them. What sort of economics is this?

If they are going to impose carbon border tax then we also should impose carbon tax based on per person carbon emission. It will also be a reciprocal tax as US is doing with India right now. Also I want to question, does US not provide subsidies on many of it's export oriented goods ? If yes, then this is also an obstruction to free trade. Should we also do that to the products to be sold in US and capture their market ?
India would be the loser because we have a trade surplus. The subsidies that the US provides is its business, just as the subsidy that India provides is its business. It is the tariffs that is the issue. Trump is saying that since India applies tariffs on imports from the US, he will do the same on imports from India.

After a long time Harley Davidson finally understand that their bike are not made for Indian, India imposed 100% duty on imported Harley but one bike was there street 750 which was made in India, but still the sells was too worried for them. That was the main reason why they left.
Now they collaborate with hero and have launched they first hero made Harley Davidson bike x440. And that'll boomed in India for sure.
