It's convoluted, but it involves entering the event with the target vehicle to use yourself, as well as the opponent, taking over the opponent's controls and move the camera pov to it, complete the race that way, then copy the entire newly created replay data from RAM (because you can't save a race replay in a rally event i found out) to the files responsible for the rally opponent's ghost, change a few relevant bits so that your car spawns on the correct grid spot and is being set as a ghost, and send that to the game. At least that's how i did it in the video lol Hopefully it can be simplified a bit with practice, but for now that's how i'll do it
Yep! That's an edit i made years ago. I've edited nearly all the track maps to display the start point, checkpoints, and in the case of special tracks and license versions of tracks, the driveable and deleted areas. They'll be part of my mod :3
talking about source code.... have you tried using an AI to reverse engineer the code? theyve gotten rather decent already for coding in general, maybe with a decent pc you can even run the bigger models on the cpu even if it takes some time. With context sizes getting bigger and bigger it wont be long before you can fit the entire playstation binary into the AI and tell it to explain all the code.
I personally haven't. I've never used any of the ai stuff like chatgpt and all that. I know some of the guys have tried using IDA on it, to some degree of success, but without having any sort of symbols, it's all blind work trying to figure out what is what. So for now i don't see it happening. Who knows what the future will tell however!
What the hell is this comment? "Won't be long before you can put the entire PS1 binary into AI and have it explain it to you?" Are you mad or do you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about? Like wtf haha.
@@Steventhe2nd i understand that you don't like it, and to a certain extent, i very much agree with you, but besides the stock sound on the road model Imprezas, you can't say they sound close to an actual boxer engine. As much as i don't dislike the 9000rpm Evo exhaust sound on the Impreza Rally Car, i'd rather have something that sounds a little more like a race car. You might like the other replacement boxer sounds i've made in the video showcasing them. ua-cam.com/video/fqW5HJyCJhQ/v-deo.htmlsi=OIxjW-H_rTsX5F-D
BABE WAKE UP, SUBMANIAC DROP ANOTHER GT2 VIDEO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!1!!1
Yea.. I like this channel!😊
This is big news for GT2 modding in general. How does recording the ghost actually work anyway?

@@submaniac93 Even if it's convoluted, it's exciting that it's even possible to do.
I noticed that the track map has extra symbols.

Pretty interesting, can you share the codes if available? The more the merrier!
It's not a code, it's a rewrite of the opponent itself, so no can do!
HE IS BACK!!!!

@@submaniac93 why did ya ruin the car by making it sound like that??????
@@Steventhe2nd Because it's the closest i have to a rally sound for an Impreza, being taken from GT Sport's Subaru Vision GT?
