What people don't realize about Jon Malin is that he's one of an elite band of Kryptonians who trained on a planet made of kryptonite on the farside of the paradise dimension.
Most of those guys didn't make it, but Jon gained immunity to kryptonite, accomplishing an infinite series of stochastic supertasks on a cellular level.
Problem is, he ended up in our dimension, having hidden his true knowledge of himself behind a sequence of psychic blocks, lest that information fall into the hands of the enemy. 🤷‍♂️

Anime and manga as far as quality peaked in the 80s and early 90s for me. Nothing can beat Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Princess Mononoke, Demon City, Fist of the North Star, Ninja Scroll, Neon Genesis: Evangelion and a few others that were mind blowing. Nothing seemed to outdo that stuff since. Dark, creative, impactful stories, not the modern cute stuff that gives the genre a bad name.

I haven't watched the full clip yet, but a human-dog hybrid (dog body + human face) appeared in "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" from 1978. I guess Holy Hand Grenades didn't see that movie. I, on the other hand, haven't seen Full Metal Alchemist...😅
