V’s Layover album has 6 songs altogether. They are: Love Me Again, Rainy Days, Blue, Slow Dancing, For Us, Slow Dancing (piano versions). This is a no skip album for me. I love all the songs. I forgot how good V’s Tiny Desk Concert is. The more I listen to his music the more I love it. As someone that was around in the 70’s, I see some similarities to some of the slow soulful music from then like early Chicago with the horns. I love it! Thanks for sharing your reaction to this video. 💜
I agree with you about the similarities to Chicago. The flute and horns reminded me so much about their early music in particular (pre-David Foster era).
V has played saxaphone since he was young, and before he "won" his audition and was invited to join Big Hit. When asked by Jimmy Falon what he would have been if not for BTS, V said, "saxaphonist."
I have a creative friend who has created for me complete sets of all of Tae's solo works and one collection of his jazz. Tae is a genius. Not sure that HYBE BigHit know how to nurture and take care of a jazz artist. He has listened to all of his Dad's favorite artists on vinyl as well as his own unique favorites, like Bing Crosby. There is no limit for Tae. he is a superb actor, musician, fashion designer...anything he sets his mind to.
His knowledge in music is vast. He is very meticulous about what music he puts out for his fans. He specifically knows what instruments he wants to be used in his songs. V is a hands musician from start to finish. His love for music is great. It truly is his life. If you didn’t know he plays sax, trumpet, violin, and piano, that I know of. I love the comment and I agree with the recommendations. By the way, except for Singularity and Christmas Tree, in the others he participated in writing, composition and production. V studied saxophone for 3 years before joining his company as a trainee, because his dad told him that if he wanted to be a singer he should first play an instrument. He was starting to study dance when he accompanied a friend to the Big Hit audition (as far as I know at that time they were closed with invitations to dance schools and a minimum of 2 years of study was requested so he did not meet the requirements); V caught the attention of the BigHit staff when they saw him and they invited him to audition on that occasion, being the only one who was selected. In the time he has been in BTS he has learned at least a little of: piano, violin and trumpet, we have seen him with guitar (and playing with the double bass) and that he is not bad with percussions. He is a true musician and has an absolute ear. As a singer he is the widest range of the group (and they all exceed 3 octaves), he has very good technique and is very versatile so he covers many genres, you can also listen from his natural deep bass to good highs and quite high notes (even for tenors and he is a baritone).
V has an amazing vocal range, but in this album i think that he try to show music more close to his personal music taste and the result is totally his vibe.
If you want more raw performance of V watch the band session of V for lay over and you will be at awe on how good his voice and how comfortable the band with him. Jazz and slow is V’s forte . But he knows what he wants and deliver it with sincere and genuine heart just like all the BTs members, though his music is quite different from what BTS and that what I like about him.. he has persona as V of BTS and V as Kim Taehyung as musician and artist.
As someone who studied jazz in college, this was such a great surprise for me. I'm loving Chapter 2 and all the solo activity. I should have known what to expect since Taehyung is an old soul who loves Bing Crosby. Tae also plays the sax, so I'm sure that had an influence on this performance.
With this performance I believe the band was especially created for V and flew from US. Some of are Grammy band performer and musicians. V is quite a meticulous artist and very true to his color! This is V.. his real personality and color and music.. quite unique and genuine .. not trendy ! He wants to share the real him and his music !
V is so multi-talented. His voice range is insane for a baritone. His music choice is my favorite. Because this (and his gorgeous face, does hurt) he is my Ultbias. Layover is amazing. There are 5 songs, but SLow dancing piano version. The two there songs not incl in TD are Rainy Days and Blue. For me, it was a no skip album. Absolutely love it!
One of my favourite performances, just such a good vibe. Also the key change on For Us makes more sense when you listen to the recording of the song, its super cool the way it happens.
V spent three years learning to play the saxophone when he was younger. He played it as part of his audition for Big Hit. Maybe that’s why it’s included here
I think it will be very exciting to react to V's "Singularity", "Stigma", "Sweet night"... He is a singer who really conveys something when he sings... You can choose anything you want- official MV ... or live performances... you won't go wrong with any of them...
V has such a beautiful, soulful sound. I get chills and tear up listening to him because it's just so beautiful. I love all 7 members of BTS so much but V's solo work is probably my favorite. He is really sensitive, sweet, and incredibly diverse with his music intellect. So glad you're watching this-I highly encourage you to listen to his whole album. It's absolutely lovely- no favorite the whole album is good but Rainy Days is a really nice one.
Layover is a mini album with only five songs (V made an MV for every song). I love all the five: Rainy Days, Love me Again, Slow Dancing, Blue, and For US, but maybe my favorite is Slow Dancing. V has an old soul. He loves Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby, etc. In the past, his dream was singing this kind of music, wearing a suit like his father's or Justin Timberlake's 😊 and he did it in Le Jazz de V. I don't remember if you reacted to that video. Oh! I simply fell in love with the saxophonist! The first time I listened to this video, I understood what an eargasm is. 😅
The entire album is amazing. Tae has an old soul and he does jazz flawlessly. Slow Dancing is a favorite of mine but every song is constantly on my playlist! 💜
For Us. I can listen to that repeatedly. This live version is better than the recorded IMO. There is another live version along with Slow Dancing on NPOP plus he does “Blue” which I think is only time he has done it live. Enjoy your reactions 😊
My favorite song from his album is "Slow Dancing". My favorite singles from him are "Winter Bear" and "Snow Flower". My favorite song written by him is "Blue & Grey", which was originally for his mixtape, but then developed as a group song. My favorite unreleased song is "Travel with Me".
Love the chair dancin' Nate!!!❤ I can hear your cover of Slow Dancin'!!!! The members surround themselves with such talented musicians! Tae's such an old soul! During 2022 PTD tour in Vegas UA-cam has a clip of him visiting a Jazz club. With all the older attendees, he was solo dancing in his element!!! I love the entire album, Slow Dancing is my fav! Now... When are you doing your cover of it???😊
He is so amazing, I love all bts solo music , I truly love Jimin’s , but I grew up listening to soul , jazz , blues , V’s solo and voice just takes me back to roots , I’ve been listening to him every day , him and Jimin are like my 2 to listen when I wake up. I’m in love with V’s voice 💜💜💜💜💜💜
I love it so much that you enjoyed it, you really seemed to connect to the vibe of their music, I love Layover! and I love seeing more people enjoying it!💜😀
Hello You reacted to 3 songs from the Layover album, but the entire album is only missing 'Rainy Days' which was chosen as the 3rd best song of 2023 by RollingStone magazine and 'Blue' where V explores his passion for the blues and the art of acting and it involves us and invites us to other periods of our lives. Congratulations!!!💟💜
This reaction you really were enjoying more than focusing on details and this warm my heart cause i think our V music really make you can't stop he was so smooth and adorable ♡
He has such a beautiful smoky tone and resonance to his voice…his album is one of my favorites of the members’ solo ventures, and these live arrangements are just freaking stellar.
Thanks for watching V. I love his music so much. What a talent. On Layover, I love: Blue, For Us, and all of them. Also, watch V sing solo on BTS: Stigma, Singularity (live), Winter Bear, Christmas Tree, Sweet Night.
The three songs V sang on Tiny Desk Korea are three of my current faves, but I LOVE the entire album. It's an album where you can sit in your living room while sipping hot tea and watching the rain/snow fall outside your window.
Layover is an incredible album every song is a masterpiece and he created a visual album so every song has a music video. Also Vs live vocals are just amazing he never disappoints. He has the greatest vocal range in the group and since you seem to really like the high notes you should check out Stigma the best high note of any BTS song that can only be rivaled by Jin in Epiphany... I would have never guessed V had it in him and he really is one of the most underrated vocalists. He makes music that he loves... not necessarily for the charts. Layover has some great performances i hope you love his album... its in my daily rotation... Vs voice is soothing to the soul.
Finallyyy V Tiny Desk Reaction!!! Please check out all his solo songs, trust me you wont be disappointed! V is a great singer and his choice of making the music he likes is commendable... And i think he's so underrated of his voice which he doesn't deserve. He's so hard on himself with people judging him ( he was so down in 2020-2022) because of hate and it breaks my heart even now... He deserves the best of the universe.. he's such a genuine person and great sensational personality.
I have listened to the entire project over and over and over again. I love all of it! But I’m also 55, and love artists like George Benson. I think that the LP is a nice fusion of jazz and R&B. All of my favorites were performed on the Tiny Desk Concert. Though Jin and Jhope are my biases, I love V’s voice best!
I LOVED V’s Tiny Desk performance SO MUCH! It was truly amazing, in every aspect! The band, the backup vocals, the arrangement, and VEEEEEEE! My heart melts every time I watch this! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Plz I love you for checking his music Nathan!! V is my absolute favourite artist ever his slow, r&b, jazz songs are everything fr. From Layover my other favourite is Rainy days, I absolutely love it. But if you wanna check V's other music too, watch singularity or winter bear, but if you wanna check his highnotes go for stigma. tysm, I absolutely love this reaction.
Love Taehyung baritone Voice for slow songs , jazz , R&B he is an old soul that enjoys all type of genre of music. He has done covers of Jazz songs. 💜✌️
“Baby making music”. 😂 I agree. His deep, velvety voice is just… 🤌. 🥰 I love all of the songs in his album but Slow Dancing is my favorite. Rainy Days is a good one too.
I think V says, "thank you for waiting" because he had talked about releasing an album for 2-3 years before it finally came out last year, so he knew his fans had been waiting. He was the last of the 7 members to release a solo project during the BTS break from group activities during the last 1-2 years. He worked so hard to make it just what he wanted it to be. "Love Me Again" is my favorite song from this album.
He had us in a long wait for his album, he has even shown us on social networks some fragments of songs that for some reason he has discarded. It should be noted that V has worked for years on songs but in the end he discards many because they no longer meet his current expectations (I wish he would release them on some albums, I really think it would be a great gift from him to show us all that must be wonderful); in the end he decided to look for a team that would materialize his ideas both in music, lyrics and even image and video, to accompany him on his debut.
@@TheBlackcoffeeable He went through a lot of doubting his own lyric's what he wrote I hope he didn't really throw out his lyric's like he said on Suchwita to Suga. Suga looked suprised when V said he threw his own lyric's out because he though he'd wrote gibbberish. Did you watch the episode? I thought that was quite sad if he really did through his own lyric's out. Self-doubt can distroy a person. Suga has said never throw lyric's out and get what he meant as months or years later you might go back to them and think oh yes I just need to alter them a little or maybe a word or phrase or a whole line get the thoughts and inspiration going again. Been there and done that myself. V clearly had a period of self-doubting his ability. That happens to all artists in very artistic field. Now maybe he's only thrown those lyric's to one side not really distoryed them so we never know he might go back to them and see them in a different light.
V has been a lifelong fan of jazz, and he has played saxophone, and is learning trumpet and violin. He is so multi-dimensional, because he brings a lot of energy (chaotic? ☺) to BTS onstage, and he listens to a broad range of music, he is really drawn to the type of music he chose for his debut album, which is SO GOOD. Check out Rainy Days and Blue as well. He greatly admires and was able to meet Lady Gaga and Jon Batiste when they were in Las Vegas for 2 weeks and went to the Grammys.
Ah Tae is in his element here. He loves jazz music so much that this was all his idea. I think he would be happy just singing in tiny jazz clubs everywhere.
I'm so glad you reacted to this! V's vocals are amazing. I love the chill vibe of all the songs on his album. I probably like Rainy Days the best, out of the ones you haven't listened to yet. But Blue is a good one, too. Both have official MV's. Thanks for reacting to V's tiny desk Korea! I love your reactions.
I hope you listen to that freaking weird key change in For Us on the album recording. There’s a bit more context there. I love it. It’s so strange, but I love that they just do what they want musically without apology.
Big shout out to the amazing band and back up singers. They did a fantastic job. I love the Tae made is first album to be something that is so close to his own music preference. His voice is so beautiful and I just love the jazz vibe. The best music for just chilling. Love it. Borahae Kim Taehyung!!

I enjoyed all the projects, but those are heavily in my Playlist. My fav is this version of Slow dancing and Rainy days.
There aren’t a lot of tracks on Layover. This Tiny Desk shows you half of the tracks. The songs you haven’t listened to are “Blue” & “Rainy Days”. He also made a music video for each one of the tracks! You definitely should check them out, especially the MV for “Slow Dancing”! 💜

Excellent Reaction! I love the Layover Album so much and my favorite songs are "For Us", "Love Me Again" and "Slow Dancing". TaeTae's voice has so much bass, warmth and depth to it that it makes you feel different emotions. His voice is perfect for R&B, Neo Soul and Jazz. He is always telling a story and he has so many captivating expressions to back it up. I absolutely love rhe whole band, but Jacob on the saxophone 🎷 was my absolute favorite. Fun Fact: Jacob Scesney is Los Angeles, CA musician and is a multi-Grammy winning woodwind specialist.

This is V.. his real personality and color and music.. quite unique and genuine .. not trendy ! He wants to share the real him and his music !
뷔🐻🎶🎵💜💜
Loved that you enjoyed Taehyungs’ Tiny Desk!
all the songs in layover is my fav... its such a short album... and the tiny desk live band arrangement is definitely the best...
V is so romantic...!!..Thanks Nathan ..you made my day..again..
One of my favourite performances, just such a good vibe. Also the key change on For Us makes more sense when you listen to the recording of the song, its super cool the way it happens.
That’s definitely tae’s vibe. Very jazzy. Either a beautiful love story or baby making music. He’s too perfect. That album really ate. 💜
Rainy days and blue!,!
This is V's wheelhouse.... he Ioves R& B and Jazz. He's such a lovely old soul. Have you reacted to Le Jazz de V ? Thanks for your reaction 😊
V makes me feel the music 🎶, his voice transmits the mood he is in, makes me live the song..
I agree with you, For Us is my favorite too. But I think that live version in Vicnic is the best.
For Us is my absolute favorite from Layover.
Now... When are you doing your cover of it???😊
SO incredible!! I loved this from V thanks for watching
Because of V’s solo album, Layover, I started listening to BTS and Kpop! He’s incredible! Absolutely love his VIBE ❤
This reaction you really were enjoying more than focusing on details and this warm my heart cause i think our V music really make you can't stop he was so smooth and adorable ♡
“For Us” is my favorite song on “Layover”.
V's tiny desk is master pic.i listen this everyday ❤💜
He has such a beautiful smoky tone and resonance to his voice…his album is one of my favorites of the members’ solo ventures, and these live arrangements are just freaking stellar.
Yes, he’s making music for adults.
Love Me Again and For us is my favourite but honestly I really cant choose😅 They are all great songs.

Спасибо за реакцию. Тэхён прекрасен.
Rainy days was my favorite 💜💯
V my baby is so amazing!!! My favourite is for us
Slow Dancing and For Us are my favs....
🌟IU pallete : Slow dancing guitar version
🌟The first take jpg : Slow dancing piano version
🌟 Tiny desk korea : Slow dancing saxophone version
🌟 In Band session : Slow dancing flute version
And all Live performance so AMAZING... so proud of you Kim Taehyung.. I love you Taetae ❤❤❤
Thanks Nathan🤍
V is a great singer and his choice of making the music he likes is commendable...
And i think he's so underrated of his voice which he doesn't deserve. He's so hard on himself with people judging him ( he was so down in 2020-2022) because of hate and it breaks my heart even now... He deserves the best of the universe.. he's such a genuine person and great sensational personality.
V and his music are so grateful and he coming with new content. So excited!
I think Blue from Layover is overlooked but so beautiful. The vocals in that song are amazing.
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
V's voice is just so smooth. His whole album is so soothing. My go to album when I am at work
The entire album is so smooth and calming and full of emotions. I like for us and blue the most, and slow dancing 🙂.
V siempre tan hermoso y sencillo con todas las personas 💚💚💚💚💚, como lo extraño al igual que mis otros chicos BTS 💜💜💜
@@borreguitoazul yes and Suga even said to him he shouldn't throw his lyric's away but release them.
@@eileencritchley4630the label were the ones calling the shot😢, he went through a lot just to release this album
Finally! lol. I thought you would appreciate this because this performance really showcases the instruments. Goosebumps everytime.
Ah Tae is in his element here. He loves jazz music so much that this was all his idea. I think he would be happy just singing in tiny jazz clubs everywhere.
Tae's voice is like velvet.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I love all the songs in layover . But rainy days is m'y favorite 💜💜💜
Taehyung loves saxophone so so much, he also plays sax 🎷, he learned it when he was in middle school
I hope you listen to that freaking weird key change in For Us on the album recording. There’s a bit more context there. I love it. It’s so strange, but I love that they just do what they want musically without apology.
Love this!
Adding to the list...
RM's tiny desk for his album Indigo
August D's People Pt 2 with IU
Big shout out to the amazing band and back up singers. They did a fantastic job. I love the Tae made is first album to be something that is so close to his own music preference. His voice is so beautiful and I just love the jazz vibe. The best music for just chilling. Love it. Borahae Kim Taehyung!!
Check out v's solos -
Sweet night - I recommend to start with that one
For fun please watch - [BANGTAN BOMB] Musical Actors BTS - BTS (방탄소년단) - esp 00 : 35 - 2 : 47
Christmas tree
Singularity
Stigma
Winter bear
Scenery (very early on his artistic journey)
It surprises me that as a musician you haven’t "discovered" V yet, while listening to BTS songs. They're all AMAZING ARTISTS, everyone has his unique traits. Excellent singers among their other qualities.
But V is something else. He's the stronger singer. I think it's called strongest and widest rib cage? I believe he's at only about half of his singing ability yet.
And he is the most interesting one, artistically and singer wise.
Yes,it’s fun to watch you, you always make me smile. Layover is a very unique album, it’s V’s vibe, very natural and easy to listen. Every one of them gave us a different but beautiful and enjoyable music. As BTS they great, but as solo artists they are too,so original, and talented.
This tiny desk is one of my fav things from 2023. I didnt know what to expect from V's album and he surprised me in the best way possible. His album, along with Jhope, are my type of music.
My personal favorites off of Layover are Slow dancing, Blue, and For Us. Singularity is another V song that you absolutely need to check out it's a masterpiece 👏
Fun Fact:
Jacob Scesney is Los Angeles, CA musician and is a multi-Grammy winning woodwind specialist.
Es la primera vez que te veo emocionado y disfrutando realmente! Me encanta que los chicos provoquen eso! Debo decir que taehyung es maravilloso, su voz profunda enamora a cualquiera! ❤
check out V's live song Stigma live It isn't on Layover but their are too many to ask for.....
V's album is a great reflection of musical soul. He has great love for jazz & r&b. He is the soulful baritone with a nice range. For us is my favorite track on the album and Layover is still one of my favorite albums. All of the members have put out amazing solo projects so far. Layover is definitely an amazing solo project.
Hey @NathanWalters I think we all would love to have been a part of V's jam session here. He's just so cool and chill. The entire Layover album is so V. He is very into jazz and it shows in this album specifically. Check out the whole album lol, but I loved Rain and I wish For Us could have been about 2 mins longer lol. Borahae as always 💜
My favorite song on the album is slow dancing
I love layover but For Us is my fave then Rainy Days and then the entire album x💜
Thanks for your reaction , I loved it!! I love all songs from Layover but ''Blue'' is truly my favorite one, please check it out!!
