Been looking for a hydration pack to use on a day-long trek in the Cascades next year and this was the best option I found. Just ordered it on sale from Amazon. Your review helped a ton! Thanks!
That was a really well done review, thanks. You showed all the important things about the pack while actually SHOWING THE PACK as opposed to some of these other ridiculous "reviews" that talk about the pack while showing some dopey guy doing a jump or a drop. Sheesh, thanks for staying on topic. You helped me decide this probably isn't the pack I'm looking for. Now if only you had a review of the Lobo... ;)
Thanks for the review! I also found the hydration pack a little clunky. My spout just flings around because no matter how I try to adjust, it is always under my armpit. Filling the bladder in the backcountry is also clunky. That being said, I love this pack so far. I use this when I'm bikepacking. If I'm careful, the 3L bladder gives me a good amount for a couple of days. I love that I can stop quickly, take layers off, and shove them in the pack. The pockets are well placed, and I can keep everything in it that I might not want to leave on my bike when I stop at a refuel location.
Ok, now I'm convinced. You're like the 4th person (review) I've come across that all have said that the tube doesn't sit well and gets bumped by the arm and sometimes falls loose. Ok, time to look at other brands I guess, even though I love Camelbaks.
I ended up buying the hydration pack by Source. Much better and a little cheaper. Insulated hydration section, better hydration system that stays CLEAN. Better designed and better made. I use it everyday on my long dog walks in the Middle East and it’s like my portable home. I keep food, water, tools, dog equipment, and a portable charger that could last me and my wife 24 hours in a shelter. I would stop off and buy another without a second thought in between jobs if it broke. Money in the bank purchase. The best in its class by far. One of the best designed products I’ve ever had.
Great Review. Link is 404 'd. I just can't get this due to my experiencing with the leaking you explained. It looks like it is secured even tipped it looks secure but my pack is soaked after arriving for the ride...
Would you say this will work well for hiking aswell? Or would you suggest against it? I see it being advertised for biking everywhere so that makes me doubt if I should get it. Will use it for long walks/hiking only.
Hi, one question, i just bought this one for myself in amazon and i just noticed that is designed to fit womens frame. Do you know if this one is also compatible with men?
It comes in two versions -- one of which is women's-specific. The only real difference is the shoulder width, so if it's comfortable for you, don't worry about it.
Great review, thank you. We just got these bags for Christmas, and are excited to try them out.
