Doggystyle certify Deathrow's flag in the sand of hip hop. Like Snoop was like the biggest star of 93', well 94' I should say'. He got to make a movie "Murder was the case" and the soundtrack was banging too. Being on Martin. Freestyling on Arsenio Hall. Snoop was everywhere. Snoop's flow was so flawless. It was effortless the way he spit. Plus you got the D.O.C help construct his rhymes and make a long freestyle into 3 verses. So Deathrow had a good team. The D.O.C and Dr.Dre meets the D.P.G= perfect combination. 4x Platinum, 100,000 out the gate.
I see where Myke's coming from, but I don't think I'll ever be too mature for Ain't No Fun. 24 years later, I still sing along to Nate Dogg's verse like it's nothing lol
Mig1997 he freestyled a lot of the album and d.o.c. would help him edit it and fix the cadence. Gz & hustlers, pump pump, Lodi dodi, serial killer all freestyle bro
Doggystyle is the first rap album I remember listening to. This is a classic, no question. I don't have to be in a mood to listen to this. I can throw this on anytime, but then again, I grew up on soulful, jazzy, funky hip hop.
I was in 3rd grade when this dropped. I remember being in school & sneaking this on the headphones with my classmates. Pittsburgh was big on Snoop for a few reasons. A lot of funk originated in Ohio. Pittsburgh native Sam Sneed appeared on the album and was involved in the production along with Dre, Daz & Warren G. And Snoop is a huge Steelers fan and loves Pittsburgh. Dre ended up scooping a ton of rappers & producers from Pittsburgh because of working with Sneed & seeing how much other talent was here.
that's because they had live musicians bringing the sound to life like those 70's soul groups. and the equipment/ instruments they used was made for producing music. not a super computer making artificial sounds like what's going on these days
especially: Tha Shiznit Gin and Juice Ain't No Fun Murder Was the Case Serial Killa Gz and Hustlaz [Only one I think is a little dated is For All My Niggaz and Bitches (featuring Tha Dogg Pound and Lady of Rage)]
Reese NineEightNine nah not really even though I like Nate Snoop's flow, chill unique voice, lyrics very west coast sound that's what really made this album legendary to me
Gz Up Hoes Down was on the CD version for a brief period back when the album first came out. I actually have that version of the CD (Messed up Track listing and all)
Biggest problem is they've already come forward and they don't really dig LS. They rated it pretty low in a Wu Tang solo album talk - even almost ignoring it. I can't remember which vid exactly but they definitely passed on it.
Marios lmfao my guy. Look up greatest west coast albums of all time, and you’ll find that album on most lists. 😂😂 FOH with that hating ass bitch shit, I don’t like The Chronic, does it mean it isn’t one of the greatest west coast albums of all time? I don’t think so. Keep thinking you’re right though.
i hear what myke is saying and hes not wrong that the Gfunk sound wasnt auto a WC sound but everyone missed the point that it was a Compton sound. Gfunk sound was used by any rapper from SCLA to Watts and Long Beach that was part of the G culture and rapped about it. Myke was up north, he didnt see how influential that chronic album was down in Southern CA but up north they saw it boomin b4 the rest of the world did (im guessing since they up north). thats why i understand everyone else saying its automatically a wc sound to them. Doggystyle followed the same success chronic had but snoop was what LA was at that time (still is) and people followed. the whole dog pound was that.
Even if Daz and Warren G did all of the beats for this album, Dre still PRODUCED it. Snoop explains it in an interview that he did with DUB Cnn back in 2008. People have always told stories about Dre not really being that instrumental in making a lot of the shit back in the death row days. But did Daz and Warren G's shit sound as good as Dre's?
I think this album was great but was a gift and a curse for Snoop. It's something he could never recreate due to the hype and anticipation with the rest of his albums. I like most of the stuff he did afterwards but he sounds like a completely different rapper here verses afterward.
It's the only snoop album I've listened to and have but I get what you are saying in a way. I'm not much of a snoop fan but this was a very strong album. It's just memorable unlike any other. The cover and all the big tracks on it.
To Be Honest Now It’s A Mood Album I Mean From Like 93- 94 I Played The Album Like SO CRAZY I Mean Always In The Car And I Mean I Would Play You Know Gin And Juice Tha Shiznit Pump Pump Ain’t No Fun If The Homies Can’t Have None Who Am I What’s My Name Gz Up Hoes Down Murder Was The Case. Me Personally I Can Play Songs From The Chronic Every Like Day From My Playlist All The Time I Have Tracks From Doggystyle Like Gin And Juice Ain’t No Fun Who Am I And Pump Pump Like Are Somewhere In My Playlist That Had For Like 12 Years Ago. I Had A Snoop Dogg Shirt From 93 For A Promo Of Doggystyle Having Snoop Sitting On A Chair With A Blue Like Button Up Shirt With A Blue Beanie And I Have The Picture On Shirt On A Promo Poster. But Yes It Will Always Be One Of My Favorite Albums Of All Time Classic
This album is basically the definition of the sound of the West Coast.
Ain't no fun one of the greatest songs any genre period RIP NATE DOGG
GeorgetheGreat Yes sir
It aint no fuuuun
If the homies can’t haaave none
i know it's kind of off topic but does anybody know of a good site to stream new tv shows online ?

24 years later and this shit is literally still bumpin so hard
Yes even 30 years later 💿💯

Daniel Hill Doggystyle is definitely a "game changer" album.
I see where Myke's coming from, but I don't think I'll ever be too mature for Ain't No Fun. 24 years later, I still sing along to Nate Dogg's verse like it's nothing lol
I always wanted to know the song when they played it on the radio. When I got the album I couldn't believe it was one of his first songs.
Tha Shiznit beat 💥 when that flute came in 🤗
and the fact that Snoop freestyle that whole song. jesus
That song was the shiznit
Ahmed Marrah bruh!!!
Mig1997 he freestyled a lot of the album and d.o.c. would help him edit it and fix the cadence. Gz & hustlers, pump pump, Lodi dodi, serial killer all freestyle bro
@@Bigg_Westcoast Lodi dodi was a cover of the slick rick song with a few lyrics changed it wasn’t a freestyle
Murder Was the Case is maybe the hardest hip hop song. Snoop's flow and storytelling is immaculate. Darkest Dr. Dre beat too!
Very cold feel to it.
Hell yeah, one of the earliest horrorcore songs in hip hop.
Mr. Nelson89 nah, thats most of underground artist from memphis like triple six and such
Doggystyle is the first rap album I remember listening to. This is a classic, no question. I don't have to be in a mood to listen to this. I can throw this on anytime, but then again, I grew up on soulful, jazzy, funky hip hop.
This is my all time favorite album!! Cant say anything bad about. Everything is just perfect!!
"When I met you last night babaayy" lmao. RIP Nate Dogg. His soulful voice will never get old.

I found the original copy of Doggystyle with Gz Up Hos Down on there in a bookstore last year 💎
Happy Thanksgiving DEHH Crew!!! This album is AMAZING!!! A true classic in every sense of the word.
This album was monumental for me. I wore the cassette out and bought it on CD a couple of years later.
Yo Feefo, that beard is a mess. 😂 Shout out to DEHH, keep doin ur thing. Always glad to hear ur reviews.
Toni-P Music Looks like a Glasglow smile, like the Joker.
Some of the songs on this album still don’t sound dated
Fearless Q8 none of them sound dated
eastnystyle they do for real bruh, its fucking amazing that 65% of the album is still hard in 2017 thats crazy, thats what my point was
that's because they had live musicians bringing the sound to life like those 70's soul groups. and the equipment/ instruments they used was made for producing music. not a super computer making artificial sounds like what's going on these days
especially:
Tha Shiznit
Gin and Juice
Ain't No Fun
Murder Was the Case
Serial Killa
Gz and Hustlaz
[Only one I think is a little dated is For All My Niggaz and Bitches (featuring Tha Dogg Pound and Lady of Rage)]
Nate Dogg is the lowkey hero of this project haha
Reese NineEightNine really? He was only on one song on this album, wasn't he?
I know right lol ....his hooks and singing was dynamic
Dre yeah most people have no idea what they're talking about
Reese NineEightNine nah not really even though I like Nate Snoop's flow, chill unique voice, lyrics very west coast sound that's what really made this album legendary to me
Snoop is tf?
Kurrupt's verse on Doggy Dog World in top 5 greatest verses of all time.
Snoops verse was better tbh
Doggystyle is more funkier than Chronic
DeVonne Hawkins-Fipps duhh
DeVonne Hawkins-Fipps tru but I like the chronic better
doggystyle is more g funk for sure
Rage killed that verse.
Review dr dre 2001
Easily one of my top shelf albums of all time. Period!
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
A true masterpiece.
Gz Up Hoes Down was on the CD version for a brief period back when the album first came out. I actually have that version of the CD (Messed up Track listing and all)
I feel like at the time of 1993 this was the greatest Rap Album of all time at that point.
everyone here vote for liquid swords for November
Sober Hippy this isnt there channel
Sober Hippy also they review this album on its birthday.
myncraft1 happy birthday!

Lobstarooo I remember the vid. I just wanna here why they don't like it. Myke said it grew on him last year tho
Doggystyle was/is one of the greatest if not the greatest west coast hip hop album of all time.
Not even close
Marios stfu
@@gee_ruiz cry all u want, im right

Classic one of the greatest albums of all time 🔥
Serial Killer just BANGS SO HARD 🔥🔥🔥
Sean STROMAN wake up in the morning with ya lucky charm cereal
I’m from Chicago and I’m a lot older than Feefo and Nuthin but a G Thang was huge here. Bigger than Gin and Juice.
Alonzo Darrow, the only song that could approach 'nothin but a g thang' on snoops album is 'whats my name' and even then it was a notch behind it
I thought the way Rage kicked off the album was just incredible. If it feels right, then why not?
It was perfect. Building the anticipation for Snoop.
R.I.P Nate Dogg. Rest In Peace, rap won’t be the same without you
Doggystyle Is The Best Westcoast album IMO.
Live.Love.Q this and Soul On Ice by Ras Kass....
it was not so long ago, ex aequo with The Chronic. then TPAB was released.
All eyes on me
Naa the chronic is
doggystyle and the chronic will always be the Pinnacle of westcoast rap.

I wouldnt put much valve into Mike opinion.
Doggystyle is the 1st rap album to debut #1 on the Billboard 200 charts (Not Hammer)
Doggystyle
Doggfather
Tha Last Meal
Are his best three to me
coolaid and neva left are super dope as well
This still bumps in the whip
You know I never noticed the lines mentioning beating women until I read the lyrics.
G Perico is one of the new defining artists of West Coast Hip-Hop.
George Kumria I agree
Come on myke you hatin

Dre aint do shit but mix the records. Stop the madness
Yes
13:32 TO 14:15
Why dislike?
Dashiznit, lyrical genius.
Classic Doggystyle my favorite track was Tha Shiznit that beat was amazing
I just watched the dre review you said you moved the Georgia in 92 .
Y'all sounded too young to cover this at first, but y'all ended strong. Salute!
Gz and hustlas best track hands down
It was the bomb. I got the album wen I was like 22-23 or something
Rage killed that intro .
Myke, What! the start worked.
Isn't this a leak from their patreon? Did they give you permission to put this out?
Osama Bin Wheelie they did
I think this album was great but was a gift and a curse for Snoop. It's something he could never recreate due to the hype and anticipation with the rest of his albums. I like most of the stuff he did afterwards but he sounds like a completely different rapper here verses afterward.

He never said she didnt
All Eyez on Me or Me Against The World
top 10 rap albums of all time
Did they review 36 Chambers?
How come Jay Z was able to clear the same Issac Hayes sample on “Can I Live,” but Snoop couldn’t on Gs Up Hoes down
the real guys. the best guys

Snoop Dogg has 2 classics ... Doggystyle & ( Fuck Ya Opinion ) ... The Game is to be Sold ..not to be Told!
Realnigga Turner what about doggfather and tha last meal?
Do dogg food
Doggystyle> Chronic
Wtf he didn't like this album!!! Hip hop card should get revoke
This guy mike is so way off!!! He didn't like the intro gtfoh
I think it was witty and creative letting Rage open the album. Having the people still wait for snoop, especially how big he was back then.
This album is overrated I prefer warren g - regulate g funk era
marco saavedra no way is this overrated and no way is regulate better.
Regulate is more chill. Both are great. I'm more in the mood for Regulate most times
Warren g shit was nice too!...a notch behind ds
Sorry snoop is the most overrated rapper of all time.. The production is amazing tho
Lmao.
No, snoop is one of the greatest mc's from the west coast & hip hop in general. He's definitely top 15 & maybe top 10
