This is refreshingly un complicated with enough triggers and gates to get a real handful of things going combined with Pam’s it’s killer 👍 congratulations for this
This seems like a great bit of kit! But my heart sank after hearing the words "rewards muscle memory". I can only commit so many "secret hand shakes" to memory, lol! I would happily give up some HP for an expand module with surface self-evident controls.
Amazing! At 17:00 - where the second pip slope is reducing the level of both voices for the side chain ducking effect. Is anyone able to explain how this is happening? I don’t quite understand the patching! Thanks!
The output of that Pip Slope runs to the level CV in of Operator 2 on the Castle with the level control turned up to drone the pair of voices. Its attenuverter is then set negative to invert the Pip's envelope and produce the ducking the droning voices.
Is there a "master mute" mode to have ALL the sequencer, quantizer and Triggers displayed on the keys for us to mute on the fly (rather than having to go to each part individually)? That would be amazing! Something like the keys 1-7 are on/off and 8 is (maybe) a solo function (Sorry if I missed that in the presentation). Amazing product regardless, looking forward to get one. Thx!
The SH 101 can work with rythmical Clock input that means each clock pilse triggers a step. that means if you trigger the sequencer with a tom out of a 606 you can create rythmical sequences, does your module has this feature too ?
Yes but you would likely need to do some attenuation (or amping) / offsetting of the CV in to Squid. Squid does not currently map slices to 1/12volt steps.
@@busycircuits At 11:10, you are choosing a specific drum pattern page with the octave buttons. I am asking if each of those pages can have only 7 steps. I want it to go to 7 on page 1, then go to 7 on page 2, then go to 7 on page 3, etc. Then you can create a 7/8 time signature pattern like Venetian Snares. I also wonder, what directional play options does it have, reverse, random, ping pong?
@@Digiphex No, to do that if I understand correctly you need to create a 28 step length sequence and all the step would be 'joined' visually - it would split per visual page. Output would be the same though I believe. Just fwd direction atm!
ALM is amazing. Too bad they only do Eurorack modules, if they did a standalone groovebox/synth/drum machine, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Hell, I'd even buy a VST if they made one. Eurorack is just so bloody expensive.
I 100% agree. a groovebox by ALM would be an instant purchase for me too! I think something like that could rival Elektron boxes, Akai, Synthstrom, etc. That's a really great observation. I do want to say that Eurorack (in my personal experience), has been fully worth the investment. It certainly can be expensive, but I would also say that it may give you a great deal in return for the money, time, and effort.
That Dreamcast homage hit me right in the nostalgia feels. Makes me even more proud to be an ALM supporter.
this type of simple, capable, intuitive sequencer has been needed in eurorack for so long. instant buy from me.

Impeccable timing. Yesterday I asked if there's an ETA on this, today there's this! Perfect balance of immediacy and depth, I love it.
always amazing. Always classy. LOVE ALM. I'll be picking one up for sure.
Waiting for this one for a while, picked one up today - thanks for all you do, ALM is best

Think a screen would of helped, plenty of space for it :)
@@juliaseppi2205 ---OR more direct function buttons - I'm guessing, keeping to a certain price-point is a factor.
last beat on outro is just smashing. damn.
That is a really nice sequencer! Nice work!
This looks really fun. Love those fat keys. Absolutely do not need another sequencer but im sure I'll find a way.
Very nice, looking forward to the Ben Divkid demo video
This is impressive because it’s so straightforward. ALM is good stuff 👽
Love this, well done guys
So excited to get my hands on this one!
Ordered 😻
Nice addition!
I like the integration with PAM'S. I also like the accessability. I love Hermod and Usta but they are not easy (for me at least) to use on the fly.

@ Ah thanks a lot for explaining ! Appreciated
I've been waiting for this since I saw it at Superbooth. Excited that it's finally coming out! When will the first batch be available?
Available today from stockists!
this looks really fun. Any possibility of pattern chaining in a future update?

@@busycircuits great ..then i will buy one 🙂
Hey nice sequencer, how many patterns can I store for one CV channel? Didn´t find this info in the manual. Thanks!
13 patterns per track
I'm impressed you avoided an OLED display!
this sounds better than VCV rack 🙂
Hi, very interested in this sequencer - 1 thing though; is it possible to delay triggers a bit for offgrid beats?
Sorry this isn't possible
Do you know if this sequencer would track one slice per key on squid if the pitch cv was assigned to slices? Looks awesome!
Yes but you would likely need to do some attenuation (or amping) / offsetting of the CV in to Squid. Squid does not currently map slices to 1/12volt steps.
So there is no "No quantize" mode right?
Can I do 4 pages of 7 steps each for Ventian Snares style stuff?
You can do patterns of mis-matched odd lengths - that kind of thing ?

Cool!
Needed a screen. 2m in and the button combos are already stacking up... :
Core/Key functionality is all there with no combos..

I agree but you can also make a groovebox in eurorack.
ALM Pams, ASQ1, Squid Salmple, an Mutable Plaits and a Mixer = fun for days
Use VCV rack if you can't afford euro
I really wish muting was easier and that you could mute and unmute multiple tracks at the same time.
With the latest 003 firmware you could do a global load of empty tracks and effectively achieve this.
KeyStep pro is the same price but 8 trigger drums and 4 cv vel trigger
ASQ-1 key clack is priceless tho 🤗
Yawn. There's always a million "other" things that do more/have more/cost less/cost more......Find the things that appeal to you and stick with them.
i wish my behringer TD3 sequencer was as easy to program, LoL, or any 303 clone.
Theres space on this for so much more, why not 4 channels at least?
