I am from Maharashtra and have recently started watchin malayalam movies. I am a huge fan of malayalam movies due the diversity in the stories and the brilliant acting potrayed in them. I have seen Kumbalangi nights, kappela, Helen, Trance, virus, Ayyappanum Koshiyum, Android Kunjappan, Uyare, Angamaly Diaries, Jallikattu, Ee Ma Yau to name a few. I am a die hard fan of malayalam movies and try to watch atleast 2 movies over the weekend. Huge respect.
If you like comedy film then you can watch some 90s film, some of them remade in hindi too

There is a strong Christian presence in Kerala from 5th century AD for sure. This is the same time as the Christianization of Britain. So you saying the British-American way of saying the name of Virgin Mary's mother is correct doesn't make much sense. Syrian Christians of Kerala call her Anna with a small A with the stress on the second syllable

So in malayalam, we call elephants “Anna”. But we use different pronunciations for each of the words - the name and the animal. The funny part is that the way he pronounces ‘Anna’ is the way we pronounce it for elephants.
