Suman ji hearing this ghazal's all ashaar I am reminded when Mehdi Hasan Sahab first time visited Delhi after 1947 and his concert was held in the Modern School auditorium on Bara Khamba Road. Along with my elder two siblings we three attended. This was the autumn time of 1976. By then in Delhi night services of DTC had been introduced. After the 2nd break there were hardly 100 listeners left in the hall. We all were seated on the mattresses spread on floor with masnads and white chandinis spread all around. After 2nd break Mehdi Sahab finally sang three ghazals in following order. Kya Bhala Mujh Ko Parakhney Ka Natija Nikla by Farhat Shahzad. Then Ranjish Hi Sahi and the last was this one Ab Ke Hum Bichrey
I consider privileged to have attended that entire concert spread over 4+ hours that night. He visited again after few years and then I heard him at Aiwan e Ghalib auditorium near Bal Bhawan behind Irwin Hospital. Loved hearing this posted by you. 💕💕💕
